My girlfriend and I stayed in this apartment for 5 days in the middle of January 2015 and were delighted with our choice of accommodation. It looks just like it does in the pictures and it is just around the corner from a grocery store and a subway station stop. For me I wanted to stay somewhere close to Central Park so I could do a lap around running in the mornings...ticked that box. For my girlfriend she wanted to stay in a typical New York City apartment with the cute front door steps....ticked that box also. Every evening we returned late (12-3am) via the subway and felt safe with the short and well lit walk back to the apartment. Simon is very organised and had plenty of tips. All in all we had a great stay in this excellent apartment. Big Thank you Simon.
I loved the apartment - it was spacious, clean and comfortable, an easy 2 blocks from the subway and 2 blocks from a large supermarket - very convenient! Simon was a great host - he met me at the apartment and walked me through everything. It's a shame that I had to leave half way through my stay due to a gas leak as I would have happily stayed the entire 2 weeks. Would certainly consider staying there again on my next trip to NYC. Thank you Simon!
Nothing could have been better than staying in a beautiful, impeccably clean, and comfortable condo in Manhattan. Harlem is an eclectic and culture-rich neighbourhood that is safe and fun to explore.
Our host Simon Cole was ready for us when we arrived, provided us great insight into the area, and was very responsible to any questions we had leading up/during/after our stay.
My husband and I travel quite often, opting to stay in expensive, centrally located hotels, and our stay here has changed this mindset.
Whenever we are back in Manhattan, we will stay at Simon's Brownstone. We loved our time, have no complaints, and look forward to our next visit.
This is a great place for a couple to stay in Harlem. Very clean, modern & spacious interior. Everything you need and more. Nice and quiet location that is close to a lot of good food and easy access to the subway. Simon was a great host and was very patient with our delayed arrival. He was helpful with local info regarding restaurants worth trying, which we did and were very very happy. It is very close to multiple subways making it easy to get around. We'd definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a great spot when visiting NY.
At the beginning of September we spent 17 days in this apartment and we really enjoyed our stay. The host, Simon, responded quickly to our e-mails. He contacted us to know when we would arrive and was at the apartment to welcome us and show us around. He left some useful information about the local amenities and was at our disposal when needed.
What you see is what you get! The place is spacious, comfortable, clean and compared to hotels reasonably priced.
It has airco in the living room and the bedroom and this was very welcome as it was 30 degrees Celsius outside.
The location is very convenient, only 5 min. walk to the 125th subway station on red line 2/3 (with many stops in touristic places).
The neigbourhood is quiet calm and safe. There are a lot of nice restaurants (Sylvia's, Red Rooster, Corner Social) with terraces and some grocery stores.
Also situated close to the Apollo theater where you should attend the Amateur Night, where a lot of stars like Diana Ross, Aretha Franklin, The Jacksons were discovered.
Our first Airbnb experience was very pleasing and we highly recommend this place to all our friends.
We stayed at Simon's brownstone for the better part of a week in the beginning of August. Simon was a wonderful host who made us feel welcome and did an excellent job of showing us the space and giving us advice regarding restaurants, grocery stores, and transportation. The apartment was wonderful with a clean, modern decor and more than enough space for the two of us. The neighborhood was perfect in numerous ways including (but not limited to) great restaurants, easy access to the subway and the M60 bus to La Guardia, grocery stores, and entertainment.
Beautiful apartment! I wish ours was as nice. Simon was patient with our delayed arrival and. Full of information about the neighbourhood. The apartment was as nice as the pictures. Large and comfortable bed, very quiet street, spacious living room. Very clean. We loved that it was a 15 minute walk to Central Park and even closer to the trains. Close to all amenities. It's a little further away from the action then we thought (everything looks so close together on a map). Free street parking in front was a real bonus.
