The Space

Welcome in the City of Lights...

TOKYO-SIZED flat (20m2), very bright, near Oberkampf street (nightlife area) and about 10 minutes walk from République Square (urban transport hub), here you'll always feel safe, and surrounded by real Parisians : the neighborhood is vibrant and eclectic. Besides, you will find everything you need in the surroundings : cool bars, yummy restaurants, international news and magazines, late-opening supermarkets etc.
10 minutes walk also from Belleville the "multi-kulti" district for discovering worldwide food (markets and the best restaurants options in town) : chinese, african, moroccan-algerian (and jewish sephardic).
Not far from the "canal Saint Martin" either (cool shops, great restaurants etc... You can see it in the movie "Amelie").

The studio has been renovated lately (parquet floor + heaters) , with a TINY but serviceable bathroom (fresh bath towels are included) + toilets, american kitchen (oven+burners and fridge), convertible bed (fresh sheets + blanket are included), plus storage spaces to unpack.

The apartment is structured as an open space (living room/bedroom and kitchen) with a separate bathroom. One large window is distributing light into the entire flat during the day. It is on the 1st floor (2nd floor if you are american) in an early XXth century Parisian building.

Subway (lines 3 & 2 & 11), bus (46 & 96), vélib (public bicycle rental), grocery stores (+ laundromat + bakery) are about less than 5 minutes walk.
When you'll arrive here, you can ask me for informations about Paris (cool spots) and the neighbourhood or anything else.

Note that tapering charges are applied if you stay 7 nights (or more) and 28 nights (or more).

  • Samy (email hidden) from the first moment we met him all the way until after we had left his unit. When we arrived he gave us a tour of the neighborhood, pointing out great options of eateries, bars, and markets from a local's perspective. He provided us with helpful tips and options on getting around Paris in the most cost-effective way (including his own rideshare app company - DJUMP). His flat was located in a very desirable location in Paris, with plenty of nightlife options. It was definitely the "place to be" for late night fun. His place is just around the corner from the Parmentier Metro Station, making it very easily accessible to the entire city. He also provided us with a wifi code that allowed us access to wifi almost everywhere in Paris, which we relied on tremendously during our weeklong stay in Paris. Samy's generosity was especially felt after we had left Paris. On our train ride to the West Coast we realized we had accidentally left some very important travel documents in his apartment. Even though Samy was out of the country at that time, he immediately connected us someone that was able to meet us at the unit to retrieve the forgotten items. That saved our trip! This was our first experience with Airbnb and we are so grateful Samy was our host. We give him an A++++!

  • The place was great, the host was great, we loved our stay! I would recommend it to young couples, and people who love being in the hearth of it all!!!

  • The apartment itself is good value for money, especially having in mind prices in Paris. Good location and calm but still busy neighbourhood made us feel like living there not being tourists.
Flat itself is very small with small bathroom but convenient for short stay. We have not spend much time there anyway.
WiFi was somehow working but has made us some trouble.
We have had good communication with Samy before and during the stay.

  • Samy was polite and easy to work with. The apartment was ready when we arrived. He helped us with WiFi access and directed us to an excellent restaurant across the street, L'Homme Bleu.

This area has a ton of night-life, multiple grocery stores within a few minutes walk, and equally easy access to the metro and useful bus lines.

  • This was a great location for our stay in Paris! We mostly used the Oberkampf metro stop and were able to get all over the city quite easily. It was a short walk to the Canal St. Martin and the Republique area for restaurants and shops. It is a very small space, so just be prepared for that. Also, the refrigerator is an under-counter mini-fridge and did not keep anything cold so we tossed the few groceries we had picked up the first day. The wi-fi information we were given didn't work, but Cafe L'Autre down the street has free wi-fi.

  • It was a pleasant stay in Samys apartment. Central positioned in a great neighbourhood full of life, bars and restaurant. If you are a lightsleeper note that fridays and saturdays are very loud, and you can not keep the noise out.
Samy was kind to always reply our questions during the stay. We had trouble getting on the wifi provided - we werent able to get online, which was unsatisfying for us. However Samys mum and Samy did their best to offer their kind help.

  • The apartment is small but very comfortable , good located near to the metro station and a lot of multicultural restaurants, bars and supermarket!! Samy was always available and kind. The only negative thing is that the street is noise and just down the apartment windows there is a bar with people making noise until 3 am... So I recommend you to get out and get fun and get back to the apartment at that hour !!
