It's very quiet, and very closed to Avignon, where is the TGV station. It's also near St Rémy de Provence, The Abaye de Frigolet, Arles and Nimes.
A fantastic, special place. A perfect home base from which to explore Provence. Monique and her husband Pierre provided us with a unique, welcoming experience we will always remember.
The house is a comfortable, authentic Provencal home, nestled on a hill overlooked by an 11th-Century castle. It's even more beautiful than the pictures. An upper floor balcony provides a great place to enjoy a meal or appreciate the beauty of your surroundings.
As wonderful as the home was, the most special part of our stay in Boulbon was the time we shared with Monique and Pierre. They are extremely warm, and provided us with some great tips for exploring and appreciating Provence. We had no problems during our entire time, but I'm sure if we did they would have attended to them immediately.
If we ever have the chance to return to Provence (and after this trip, we certainly hope to), we'll definitely be returning to "la maison jaune!"
Monique's accommodation was just as described and suited us perfectly. She went to a lot of a trouble to make our stay very comfortable, providing many little extras such as fresh fruit, cooking ingredients, wine, butter and jam. Although there was no washing machine in the apartment, Monique kindly washed and dried our clothes for us. The village is very peaceful with access to a lovely, quiet bush walk in the hills. We loved staying here. Thank you Monique.
It's been a geat pleasure to stay at Monique's house. A very cute and warm place. A wonderful village and area. I really recomend to stay in Monique's an visit the Provence area. We feel that Monique and family have became a close friends.
Monique welcomed us warmly. She and her husband were friendly, helpful hosts. When we arrived, she gave us tour of La Maison Jaune and invited us for an aperitif on her terrasse facing the chateau. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Boulbon. The village was beautiful as were the surroundings. We enjoyed hearing the bells. La Maison Jaune is just as it is shown on the website - a cozy, comfortable place for a family of four to enjoy time in Provence.
Boulbon was surprisingly delightful. Monique and Pierre were warm, welcoming, generous and helpful. The house was beautiful and had everything we needed for our family of four. The location was within a short drive of many wonderful towns in Provence that you shouldn't miss.
Thank you Monique for the hospitality. The house is a 17th century structure with a lot of ambiance and history. It is very functional, clean and well taken care of. When we arrived it was also well stocked with some food ingredients (which was great as we arrived very late). There is a grocery near-by for some shopping and bakery.
The house is well located within the old town and facing a old fortress which is very nice as well.
In short - highly recommended.
