The space
You can also book a meal basket delivered on site at the rate of 55 euros for two people, drinks menu not included (delivered to the main house from October 1, or in case of bad weather). The meal basket is made up of products from our garden and local farmers and breeders. Contact us for any detailed information.
It should be noted that knowledge of the modalities of living in a wild natural environment is in any case required as well as an adventurous spirit.
No electrical network at the cave. Possibility to recharge electrical appliances and have Wi-Fi at the main house.

Depending on the weather or the season, the stay at the Grottes des Naufragés / Terrasse des Mille et Deux Étoiles may not have the usual comfort but is a source of unforgettable sensations. The water from the solar shower, in this case, can also be cool.
Conditions in case of bad weather.
As we cannot predict, at the time of booking, the weather conditions on the date of the stay, in case of last-minute cancellation by the guest, due to the risk of bad weather, we can provide a fallback accommodation solution, according to our availability.

The location:
Le Clos du Mouflon is a unique and remarkably rare place.
It is an arm of green hillside of maquis cascading in terraces on a creek of pebbles and large rocks.
Nature has been preserved and beautified. Donkeys garden in their own way, man continues to plant oaks and olive trees. Immortelle, rosemary and lavender are pampered.
Isolated silence conducive to meditation, unsupervised swimming that is envisaged by calm sea and walks in the limited maquis. Civilization, the medical center and sandy beaches are 15 km away. The phone is rarely disturbed.

Inhabited since prehistoric times by farmer-breeders and then by coal-burning foresters and converted, at the end of the 1960s, to outdoor tourist accommodation, Le Clos du Mouflon is now awaiting a viable reconciliation between the motivations of human presence and its wild and at the same time so vulnerable nature. For a very long time, its territory has supported the "light footprint" of the men who shaped it by adapting to natural constraints. Its dazzling passage, after centuries of a status of a place of work, fatigue, isolation and deprivation, to that of a place of rest, relaxation, contemplation and encounter, still leaves us stunned.
The same trees heard the suffering of men and animals as well as, a few years later, the joy of the first employees on paid leave. The same land can also make the difference between the sweat of some and that of others. However, the Clos du Mouflon remains a place that requires a concrete commitment and a lot of energy for its preservation and maintenance.
Once again, we seek to adapt to the natural environment with a perspective management of its resources, which are increasingly threatened, such as drinking water, wood energy, aromatic essences, silence, the beauty of the landscape, dark nights and transparent seawater.
Thus, alongside the main activities – in terms of the energies involved – of logging, breeding and land maintenance, we welcome in the two cottages and the two unusual proposals, travelers to share the time that passes in this special place.

The road:
For the traveler, the access road is initiatory. From Calvi to Galeria, it is a departmental road that the postman or the shepherd takes all year round without reservation, but the tourist may be surprised by the capricious turns, the delicate two-car passage and especially the dizzying and abrupt spectacle of a giant sea, burning with sunny reflections a few meters below. No guardrail dares compete.

Hospitality:
Le Clos du Mouflon welcomes lovers of simple and authentic life. There are four donkeys, a mixed and colorful chatterbox farmyard, sometimes the passage of friends who are gourmets of local cuisine, discussions under the stars, all solicited to compensate for the low night lighting.
Two apartments with independent kitchen equipped with 4/5 beds each with showers and toilets are offered as well as a real rock-cave on the edge of the cliff and a livable terrace.
Ideas:
During the day, a dirt road leads to the creek 700 meters below. A fairly wide cove that can sometimes be visited by boats.
The sheepfold is a blessed place for an in-depth reading of the Corsican nap on a rock or in a hammock. The transparent water a few meters away and its multicolored fish can sometimes distract you when it's not the children asking for an adventure on the rocks or a dive to inspect the hidden sea urchins.
This gentle agitation will require responsible supervision, caution because the site is wild and steep and nature expresses itself openly.

IMPORTANT: access to the cave is quite athletic, with a drop of 50 meters. Lighting is non-existent and headlamps are required. The rocky slabs that lead to the sea are sloping.

The Association of Friends of Clos du Mouflon
Le Clos du Mouflon is above all a unique place to preserve, maintain and share.
For several years we have devoted our energies and our means to this end, often supported and backed by fellow travelers who are as momentary as they are faithful.
Today our wish is to federate this small world of "mouflonauts" within the association
"Friends of Clos du Mouflon".
The purpose of the association is to protect, conserve and restore spaces, resources, environments
and natural habitats, animal and plant species, diversity and ecological balances,
the water resource, the air, the sites and the living environment of the whole of Clos du Mouflon.
It provides information and training on good conduct in the wild natural environment and helps to recognize protected animal and plant species. The goal is to promote discovery and access to nature.
It also participates in the knowledge and enhancement of local food products, their conservation and traditional processing (for human and animal nutrition).
It offers discovery, gastronomic meals, with local inspirations, as well as training in classic, family, collective culinary practice, from different backgrounds.
It contributes to the surveillance and monitoring of the coastal strip of the Clos du Mouflon and therefore to its survival.
The annual membership fee for the association "Les Amis du Clos du Mouflon" is €10.
