Wendy was warm and welcoming. The house was easy to find and a convenient location from downtown Providence. Wendy keeps a very clean place and generously offered full use of the kitchen as well. I recommend her as a host, her beautiful Victorian as a good place to stay, and her pets are as sweet as they come.
I had a very pleasant stay with Wendy. I took the bus to Providence, and as luck would have it she was able to pick me up downtown, which was much appreciated. For those visiting someone at JWU, the house is less than a 10-minute walk from the Harbor View dorm and ijust around the corner from Centennial House. The room was quiet, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was clean, and the wifi signal was strong. All good!
Wendy's house is great and she is so helpful. I will miss her and her lovely dogs. We really have a good day in RI! Thank you.
Steven (my boyfriend) and I had a wonderful 2 night stay in Wendy's lovely home. She was a very warm and welcoming hostess and made us feel at home throughout our entire stay. When we arrived she offered us a glass of wine and snacks, and there were always plenty of coffee, croissants, and delicious jelly selections available for breakfast in the morning (the habanero jelly was my favorite). She and her friends always recommended good places to eat, drink, and see (we had the most amazing crepes for brunch at one place she suggested). We enjoyed our chats on the cozy Victorian front porch (Wendy is great to share stories with as she is also very fun and well traveled) and enjoyed the peaceful, yet artsy feel of the neighborhood. We loved talking about her pet apparel business and plan on getting some of her fabulous creations for our friends with pets. Stay here and you will have an absolutely relaxing and laid back time around really good people. We would absolutely stay here again any time! A++++++++
Drove by the house at 3:30 PM on the day for the reservation. The neighborhood could most favorably be described as transitional. The exterior of the house was a little spooky to us, so I wrote to Wendy right away, incicating that we had driven by and were cancelling our reservation. Subsequently, we found alternative lodging.
I honestly have not had any experience hosting this guest. On the morning of the day he was to arrive I had not heard anything from him and wanted to check in to find out when he and a companion would arrive. In the hour window of time he responded with to expect their arrival I received a 4 word message saying he "just drove by, canceling". I wrote back "Was there a specific reason? Canceling is a process you have to do through AirBnb on your end." I never received a response or heard anything further. He had no references or previous Airbnb history. My house is in a lovely safe neighborhood, with beautiful houses with gardens. A guest that was here that day was as puzzled as I was. As you will see from my other reviews this is very unusual and I have to wonder if he had the right location. I am walking distance to two yacht clubs and Johnson & Wales. I hope he had a pleasant visit wherever he stayed in Rhode Island.
Wendy was very welcoming. We stayed during the Newport Folk Festival and it was very convenient. The house is beautiful, very clean and everything you need is there. We were able to park in the driveway where Wendy met us, she showed us to our room and around the house. It's in a very quite and safe neighborhood. I definitely recommend it.
Wendy was an awesome host and a wonderful person. The description of her home was spot on and everything was perfect when I arrived. I used Uber to get around the city its safe reliable expensive transportation far better than a regular taxi service. I highly recommend Wendy as a host. John
