The apartment is in a great location and exactly as advertised. Check in and check out was easy. 1 block from public transportation, the mall, and yonge street. We ate out two nights and cooked another night. The kitchen has everything you need to make dinner.
I only have 2 complaints. The shower head broke during our stay and there wasn't anyone available to fix it. My friend an I shared 1 bathroom. We stayed during the New Years holiday so I can understand if the rental company was short staffed. Two, in order to use some of the amenities (billiard room, screening room, conference room, etc.) you have to leave a $200 deposit with the concierge, that was not specified in the rental agreement. That should have been described in the details.
Otherwise, great stay!
The apartment itself is fine. Great location.
The beds were extremely soft (we prefer a little more firm).
The windows were not clean at all!! We had to clean them ourselves because we just couldn't stand looking out through them for 11 days.
Arlene and the company renting it are responsive and efficient enough otherwise.
Extremely comfortable and well located apartment in the heart of Downtown Toronto!
It was nice to have separate areas to do our living and the 2 bathrooms were a great asset. The kitchen was well-appointed and the unit was clean. Mirrored closets were handy and there was plenty of space to unpack items. Central location was great! Shops and restaurants within walking distance.
Areas that could use improvement:
>Reception by Michelle was rushed, it was evident that she wanted to get on with her day. When asked if a new parking spot had been located and I should probably get my car off the street, she suggested I could park my car right away and I probably didn't need her to show me around, pointed out a few items on the info sheet, told me where the parking entrance was, handed me the keys and left (she didn't even get me a parking pass which she was supposed to do). Not knowing any better, I agreed that a tour was probably unnecessary. Consequently, I took the entrance into the Grosvenor Tower from the parking level and spent a frustrating 5 minutes trying to access the wrong unit! I contacted her and figured out that I may be in the wrong building. 20 minutes later I called to say we had accessed the unit and wanted to discuss a security issue. She didn't even pick up and she never returned my call. Most unprofessional! Your "Welcome Representative" should be sure the guest is properly settled and well-informed. Not a stress-free arrival after a long drive. All email communications I sent about my stay (including a review sent 10 days ago) were never answered or even acknowledged. Clearly only interested in pocketing the fees!
>The info sheet could be a little more informative. No explanations given about the alarm system, media system or A/C. Here, a tour by Michelle would have been useful. No mention of where the pool is located other than to say "rooftop", which some might interpret as being on the 45th floor. I had to make several trips down to ask the concierge questions.
>the rooftop patio was closed due to construction, no mention of this pre-arrival and pool got shut down before departure!
>You may want to speak to your cleaners about prepping the unit for guests. Balcony door was wide open resulting in a very hot unit. Chairs on the balcony were dirty and windows were filthy. I understand it's hard to keep these things clean with all the surrounding construction, but clean windows need only be done once before a new guest's arrival. Curtains were unhooked from their tracks in places resulting in lack of privacy and there were light fixtures in need of bulbs. Clothes dryer and dishwasher were not emptied. No dishsoap or DW detergent to be found. There were only 2 toilet paper rolls in the whole unit.
>Bathtub anti-slip mats would be a good safety feature.
These might seem like inconsequential things, but they make an important first impression on your guests.
