Do you ever daydream about jumping in a travel trailer and heading west? Are you enamored with the vintage style of a bygone era? Do you enjoy camping, but secretly wish you had a real bed, wifi and a bathroom? If so, the Dixie Daisy is for you! This cute Airstream trailer has been completely renovated with a retro twist. It’s the perfect place to escape for a relaxing weekend surrounded by nature, yet equipped with the conveniences of home. Grill up a yummy dinner with your honey and dine al fresco on the large deck, take a morning stroll along the creek, turn on the string lights for some mood lighting, take a dip in the hot tub, enjoy your morning shower under the trees in the private, spacious outdoor shower (room for two!), and end your day relaxing by the fire with an ice cold beer. This is the life!
The Dixie Daisy provides all the comforts of home in one cute, cozy package. The antique iron bedframe holds a queen mattress, the bathroom has a small interior shower and a real toilet, the kitchen is fully equipped with dishes and utensils, and alongside the deck is a charcoal grill and fire bowl for your night-time fire. The owners really go out of their way to add those special touches to make your trip complete, such as leaving fresh eggs in the fridge (as long as the chickens keep up) and local organic coffee. They also strive to make this property as green as possible by using environmentally friendly dish soap and laundry detergent, providing recycled paper products and full recycling, using low-wattage light bulbs, and more.
This cozy retreat is nestled in an elm grove along the banks of Smith Creek on 10 beautiful acres shared with the owners. You’ll really feel like you’ve escaped to nature, yet the fabulous shopping and dining of downtown Wimberley are only 3 miles down the road. It’s the best of both worlds! So, what are you waiting for? The Dixie Daisy is the unique getaway you’ve been dreaming of. We are confident that it will exceed your expectations!
Pets are allowed for a fee of $50 per pet, and we ask that you leave cash or check for the pet fee with the keys upon checkout. Pets must be declared to the owners in advance, preferably at the time of booking. We ask that if dogs are left unattended that they be crated and that they remain on leash when wandering the property if they might be inclined to chase a child, cat, or chicken or wander off. Thanks for understanding!
Single night bookings:
We have a two night minimum, but when there is a single night gap in the schedule we are happy to accept a single night booking for an additional $25. Just shoot us a message with your date and we'll go from there.
Interaction with Guests
We strive to give our guests as much privacy as possible, but you may see us from time to time during your stay. We love to meet our guests, so don't hesitate to strike up a conversation!
Here are our house rules. We put lots of love and attention into making this space to share with you. Thank you for treating our Airstream with the same care and respect you would expect from visitors in your own home.
*Check-in time is 4:00pm, and check-out time is 11:00am. Please be mindful of these times, as the cleaning staff is usually on a very tight schedule. Thanks!
*We allow pets at a $50 charge for each pet. Please be prepared to leave a check or cash for the pet fee if applicable.
*Smoking is only permitted outside. Please dispose of cigarette butts.
*If you wish to enjoy the fire bowl, please respect burn bans, avoid lighting a fire in high winds, burn only wood, and make sure the fire is out before turning in for the night. We strive to provide firewood, but cannot guarantee it. Please keep in mind that chopping cedar is hard work and we ask that you use a reasonable amount so that our supply is available to future guests as well. Firewood is also available at the Exxon on RR12.
*We are pet friendly, but do charge a pet fee. If you did not declare a pet at the time of booking, please do so asap. We ask that dogs remain on leash when walking the property if they might be inclined to chase a cat, chicken, or child. Thank you for understanding!
*The water here is perfectly safe for drinking, and we also provide a Brita filtration pitcher. No need for environmentally unfriendly plastic water bottles!
*This house has a septic system. PLEASE BE GENTLE. Do not flush any feminine products or non-degradable items down the toilet and dispose of kitchen grease in the trash when cool.
*Please rinse all dirt and soap/body products off in the shower before entering the hot tub. This helps us keep our water clean and prevents having to drain and refill the tub too often. The aquifer that provides our well water thanks you, too!
*At check out time, please place all trash and recycling in the appropriate cans just behind the parking area and wash all dirty dishes.
*The Homeowner is not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occur while on the premises or its facilities. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that the guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premises.
We enjoyed staying at Jennifer and Gregory's cute airstream trailer very much. The best attribute has to be the hot tub, which is attached to a spacious porch and fun outdoor shower. The trailer, which functions as a semi permanent cabin, is surrounded by live oaks and feels very private. Just a short walk away is a beautiful stream bend with fish and limestone banks. Jennifer was warm and accommodating. She teaches art classes to children and our daughter Lily had a fantastic time getting messy painting. The property is a nice slice of Texas Hill Country very near Wimberly, which has great restaraunts and fun summertime swimming holes galore.
It was a wonderful stay. We unfortunately only had one day at the airstream but we both agreed it was our favorite part of the trip around texas. Cute town, lots of restaurants and shops, and the hosts and place were wonderful. Would love to book with them again.
Everything we expected. We enjoyed walking the property, the hot tub and the peace and relaxing atmosphere. Thanks for an amazing weekend.
What can I say about this place? It was perfect. So perfect that my husband and I spent most of the time dreaming about one day owning a retro airstream and plunking it down on a creek in the middle of nowhere. (Obviously, we're also going to have an outdoor shower!)
We arrived during a serious cold snap and we did not pack for it. We planned on spending a lot of time hiking while in the Hill Country, but we literally didn't have warm enough gear two of the days. You'd think that would get us down (being that we traveled from chilly Center City Philly to escape the Winter and get outdoors.) Nah - the airstream was AWESOME! On a particularly cold / icy day we just hibernated, watched old Roy Rogers movies (tons of cowboy movies in the Dixie Daisy), jumped in the hot tub, read, napped, etc. It was the best rainy day I've ever had on vacation.
The property is also stunning. It's a shame that for most of our stay it was gross and rainy, but the day it wasn't we had a blast wandering around by the creek, drinking bourbon in the tree house (we're professionals, don't drink and climb!), visiting the chickens, having a campfire (a fox visited us!), etc.
The location is perfect - super close to Wimberly. We didn't actually eat at any restaurants because we were having so much fun at the Dixie Daisy. We just bought food and cooked in the super cute kitchen. (Note: We did stop at The Salt Lick on our way in. Very recommended.) We hiked at both Enchanted Rock and Guadalupe River State Parks when we weren't experiencing freezing rain.
This place is honestly my dream property. I don't think it could have been better. Jennifer was awesome too when we saw her and you could tell they put a lot of heart and soul into the little touches that make the Dixie Daisy what it is. No joke - we're researching airstreams after staying here. (Also - outdoor shower? Used it everyday and it was in the 30's. Nothing like an outdoor shower when it could be snowing! Don't fear it!)
I'm finding myself doing (website hidden) searches like, "Can you winterize AirStreams?" First step: Buy land. 2nd Step: Buy Airstream. 3rd Step: Make it as awesome as the Dixie Daisy.
It was everything described and more. Very private setting, we loved it all from outdoor shower, hot tub, hammock, tree house, firepit, fresh eggs and local coffee. Private CD collection is outstanding. Staying at the Dixie Daisy was a blessing. We'll be back.
Our stay at the Dixie Daisy was fantastic! The airstream was very clean and neatly organized. It was easy to locate everything we needed. We appreciated the accuracy of the listing and the instructions and map left in the airstream. The property is beautiful and with all the amenities provided we were able to have a relaxing, wonderful vacation.
The airstream was set up perfectly for our arrival. We enjoyed the hot tub, grill and walking around on their property. You feel right at home as soon as you arrive! The hosts surprised us with fresh farm eggs and local, organic coffee!

Jennifer and Gregory live and work on their property in Wimberley, Texas. Jennifer is an artist, working in oil paint and teaches art classes to children in her studio. Next door to Jennifer's studio is Gregory's woodshop where he designs and builds custom wood furniture. They have a big vegetable garden on the property as well as several chickens, cats, and a faithful old dog.
