About This Listing
The bathroom is right next to the first floor bedroom. It is usually private. Occasionally I have a guest in the lower floor bedroom and it then becomes shared.
Please ASK me on your booking which you prefer & I will honor. 7 minute walk to MIT
This bedroom is located in a home that is no further than 7 minutes walk to Kendall Square which is on the Red Line and MIT. It is also a 10 minute walk to the Green Line at Lechmere Station. It is owned by a fabulous cook, who loves doing breakfast things for her guests. It is in a very safe neighborhood and a very active one too. The room is carpeted, and has a full bathroom attached to the bedroom. It is private bathroom usually, but can sometimes be taken by a guest in the lower level bedroom. So check Airbnb for the other room and see if someone has booked it. If you do not mind sharing, and someone is in that first floor bedroom, that works. If not let me know and I will arrange that no one else takes the other bedroom while you are in the house.
We are well located for just about anything, and have a huge Mall, the Galleria Mall, one of the largest urban malls and extremely popular only 6 short blocks from the house.
Kendall Square is a great (email hidden)r getting to Boston, Massachusetts General Hospital, MIT, Harvard, or anywhere else in the Cambridge area. Safe and quiet and great neighbors who are friendly. Large park next to the house for running, playing any sport basically, and joining in on games that run most weekends if you are here then. The airport is a quick 15 minute ride at most, on busy times, and on weekends and evenings it can easily take just about 10 minutes with a cab. One can always take the MTA to get there. That will take at the worst time around 30 minutes. This is a special place because the Super Host who lives here wants to make sure that you have what you want and need while you stay with her!!!! Welcome to Cambridge!!!!
My place is unique because you have your own floor basically to live on and sleep when you are out the house. It is super quiet and it is like having your own studio apartment.
The dog that is at the house is a Morkie...Maltese Yorkie, and is not the allergic kind..she does not have those genes so to speak...so you are all fine, those with allergies...I have had people stay who are allergic to dogs and have had NO problem (email hidden)e is only 10 pounds and a delight to have around...very friendly and cute...
Guests have access to the second floor which houses the kitchen and dining area.
Interaction with Guests
If I am around I love to talk with my guests and help them with any issues they may have in getting to places or finding things they would like to see. I have a lot of books and magazines to guide you around the area.
The neighborhood is a fabulous area. People know each other and talk with each other. It is a 24/7 area as a lot of MIT people live and work in the area and are always around and about. I am very active in the neighborhood and am always recommending places for those who do not know of things they might do here and around here.
The MTA is here. The Red line is only a 6 minute walk from the house. The Green Line and Orange line are walkable from the house also.
Other Things to Note
There are retail areas around Kendall Square that are local and excellent. We as a neighborhood have made sure that the developers here have catered to the LOCAL restaurants, and not national ones for the their first floor retail. Lots of great things to try here.
IF you want to have this room without sharing the bathroom then it would be an addtional $30 as I do have bookings in both rooms many times.
No smoking inside. and No pets please.
Lock the door, meaning BOTH locks on the actual front door , top and bottom when you leave.....
Make sure bathroom is clean when you leave it.

Refrigerator can be used for various things. Please keep clean and neat.
Microwave is available to use, as is the refrigerator for left overs and things you want for yourself at the house, as is the toaster.
Coffee and tea available....I usually make coffee if you are a drinker...and there is a drawer of teas to choose from if you are into tea.
Carol was an amazing host. I had problems with my flight and arrived nearly 2 hours late. Even with her other commitments, she hung around and made sure I got in.
The hospitality was top notch. She offered me coffee, tea and anything else I would like from the kitchen.
Even with me being an introvert, she was able to have light conversation, but not pressure me into a long dialogue.
Carole was very welcoming and friendly. Her apartment was completely clean and nice. She was out for dinner when I arrived but was nice enough to take the time to type up a list detailing where everything was located and what I needed to know. The neighborhood is very nice as well. Her dog dixie also kept me company while I did my work there! I would definitely stay there again.
I had a 2 night stay. It was easy to check in an out. I had no problems during my stay. The place was clean. It's very convenient if you need to be close to the MIT campus.
Excellent experience of staying. Good breakfast and lovely dog.
Carole was lovely and very welcoming, she went to lots of extra effort to provide snacks, coffee and a clean, welcoming space. The room was very private and spacious and the neighborhood was very peaceful and quiet.
Very nice and cozy house with convenience access to the metro station. Highly recommended.
