Other Things to Note

Usually checkouts are at noon. Cleaning service typically arrives around noon and the apt is ready by 2 sometimes laundry service takes longer. Depending on the prior guests and those checking in I do my very best to coordinate luggage requests and late check in is not an issue. I always try my best to honor time requests but just have to work with both parties.

  • This apartment looks bigger on the pictures. We had a problem with the inflate mattress, the air pomp did not work so my husband had to inflate it himself,a little bit hard... It was noisy because of the new building in construction just beside the house but that's not Shakti's fault. We did not meet Shakti but Trinity a very kind person to give us the keys. We found that the bedroom was a little bit dusty (under the bed and on the windows just close to the bed) but the bed was comfortable.
This place is very well located in Greenwich village, close to the restaurants, music bars, Washington Square and Soho wich is great for the shopping :)
Shakti allowed us to check in earlier, so it was very kind from her.
We also do like the Buddah andthe indians decorations !
Shakti is a kind person and very reactive when you call her or when you leave her messages.

  • Lovely apartment, superbly located in downtown NYC. Loads of great cafes, bars and restaurants on your doorstep, and close to SoHo etc. The apartment offers lots of space for a couple and we had a great time there. There is some building work going on next door building, but only really an issue if you want somewhere to lie in (work started about 8am most mornings).

  • Shakti was a great host, communication excellent. Apartment was in a perfect location close to lots of yummy food and right near the subway. The apartment was clean and well appointed with most things you need.
    Would stay here again.

  • Shakti was a wonderful host, warm and attentive to my needs. The apartment was cozy and in a perfect location. I will make this apartment my home away from home!

  • The apartment is a good size for 2 people with the separate bedroom at the back away from the street. Only one set of sturdy and relatively wide stairs to climb. The bathroom is small but manageable with a good supply of hot water. Great location with Washington Square, all the village eating and entertainment spots only a few steps away. Most Metro lines to get you further uptown or downtown quickly are also very close. W 4th street station a couple of minutes away got us most places. The kitchen is equipped with a new upright stove, new coffee maker and large refrigerator. Most utensils for cooking are there. Shakti was always quick to respond both during the booking process and while we were there. Arrival, departure and instructions to operate apartment equipment were clear.
We were aware of the construction nearby but as we are early risers the noise did not disturb us. During the week it starts at 7:00am and finishes about 5:30pm. Saturday start is 9:00am and all quiet on Sunday. We were not aware that construction scaffolding went across the front of the apartment just below the windows and building workers could appear there at any time. Happened a few times. The street view is obscured.
The pictures of the apartment showing furnishings and layout are a fair representation but we found that the apartment and most of the linen to be rather tired (Aussie expression). This was not helped by it having been poorly cleaned before our arrival. Shakti responded by arranging it to be redone twice. It was necessary to send her pictures after the first reclean did nothing to address the areas of particular concern. The apartment photos do not show the amount of clutter and disorganization in all the cupboards. Maybe OK if you are there for a night but not 11 days.

  • My Wife and I had a great time staying at Shatki's apartment. Every detail was perfect, the communication was very speedy and responsive, they adjusted the check in time for us and the place itself was perfect. It is really situated in a great location, very close to all sorts of fantastic city night life and everything we could have needed was provided for. If I ever get the chance I would love to stay there again, A+!

  • Shakti was an amazing host. Communication was excellent, she accomodated a change in the dates without any problem, allowed late check out and was always helpful and very kind to us. The apartment was even better than what you can see in the pictures, great location, great place and confortable for 3 people. Highly recommended

  • Everything is fine! Shakti is extremely friendly and the apartment is nice and clean and very central. We would go there again.

  • The apartment is nice and cosy and, above all, perfectly located (really, almost everything is near by and the metro connections so easy) The neighborhood itself is great as well, with plenty of coffee shops, restaurants, bars and shops... Shakti was very welcoming and always responded to our emails very quickly. The only negative thing, that we can't blame her for, was the noise of a construction site in the building right next to her place.

  • My sister and I were traveling to NYC for a conference at the Skirball Center in Washington Square on Superbowl weekend, so we were very concerned about finding a place to stay. We'd never heard of airbnb before, so I was a little apprehensive about staying in someone's space that I did not know. However, we decided to give it a try.

From the moment I placed my inquiry to checkout, Shakti was there every step of the way to make sure our experience was the best. Shakti was very responsive to all of my questions and she even called a few days in advance to confirm our stay! Check-in was a breeze and the apartment was clean and cozy and felt like home.

The apartment is located in a great spot, with a parking garage maybe a block and a half away and is conveniently located to other great sites. People were very friendly in the area and there were plentiful restaurants, shops, and so on within easy walking distance. If you are traveling to NYC Greenwich Village, definitely check out Shakti's place.
