Looking for a comfortable inexpensive room to stay for a night? A week or more? Join us in our northwest Austin home where the house is tidy, nicely decorated and we are friendly, responsible, courteous hosts. Single or couples welcome. We have a small quiet dog shown in the picture. I will consider small pets on a case by case basis with small pet cleaning deposit required.
Enjoy the large backyard with large beautiful oak trees, deck and bbq grill. Kitchen is well equipped if you like to cook and there is driveway parking in front of the house.
We have two guest rooms (with a shared bath) that accommodate 2 people in each room. We make these rooms available *separately* through airbnb. Both rooms have central air/heat, a closet, ceiling fan, Queen-sized bed (linens and pillows provided), television with cable, a dresser, desk, small microwave oven and there's wireless internet throughout the house.
Nearby there are plenty of restaurants, a grocery store and dry cleaners. A nice park is within walking distance with picnic area, tennis/volleyball court and a walking trail. Also about 2.3 miles away is the Alamo Drafthouse movie theatre. Lakeline shopping mall is within a 2 mile radius.
Transportation: Your own vehicle transportation is probably best because of the location. But there is a busline approximately 1.2 miles away that will take you into Austin. MetroRail station is about 2-1/2 miles from the house if you prefer not to take the bus (or if you have a car and just want to leave it at the train station so you don't have to find parking downtown).
We're non-smokers and prefer non-smokers but if you are and don't mind smoking outside and disposing of your cigarettes properly, we will consider. Even though we're busy hosts we enjoy meeting new people. So if you're a friendly individual or at least know to say hello when you see us in the living or kitchen area, we would love to host you!
Interaction with Guests
We interact with our guests as little or as much as needed.
Quiet neighborhood with lots of trees and good neighbors.
I will need to see identification at check in. Keys will be provided at that time.
Quiet, clean, courteous guests are welcome. No smoking, candle or incense burning in the house. We love hosting friendly, active guests. Couch potatoes not so much. Pets on a case by case basis (small non-refundable deposit required). Come and go as you please (be courteous regarding noise coming in late at night), LOCK UP AFTER YOURSELF and clean up after yourself in the kitchen, please. Most importantly, have a great stay!
Elizabeth and Dave (and their dog Donny) were AWESOME! They were very friendly and accomodating and they truly made me feel at home. They even invited me to hang out with them and eat dinner with them. (Side note: Elizabeth is an amazing cook!) As for the room, it was very clean and comfortable. The neighborhood was quiet and it wasn't too far from the downtown area. I would definitely stay here again and I would recommend this place to friends and family traveling to the Austin area. The price is right, the location is ideal, and the hosts are amazing.
I highly recommend staying with Elizabeth and David. This was one of the best airbnb experiences I have ever had with amazing hosts who truly make you feel at home and care about your comfort. Elizabeth had even offered to give me a ride downtown and was emailing me suggestions about what to do. Their dog is super cute. The room was nice, warm and cosy. You will not regret staying with such incredible and hospitable people, thanks so much Elizabeth for everything!
My host was just perfect, she really delivered whatever she promised, I found the room very clean and comfortable, plus she left me some nice snacks in the room. Elizabeth is very welcoming and hospitable and always with a big smile :)
Elizabeth was a very kind and nice host. She prepared evrything very well for the guest. Even guest room has a microwave!! Her house was beautiful!! It was quiet and cozy room. I enjoyed so much. I will come back again!
I had an excellent experience. Elizabeth took very good care of my wife and I. I highly recommend them to anybody who wants to meet a friendly couple and save money.
Elizabeth was a great host. She checked in before we arrived to make sure we got there without a problem. The room was very clean, comfortable and quiet. It was a nice neighborhood and close to our workshop - a great location for us!!!
She left us some nice snacks too!
Thanks again Elizabeth!
I stayed here for two weeks and Elizabeth and David were AWESOME! They really capture everything that comes to mind when you think of the phrase "southern hospitality." I was welcomed and shown around and told to make myself at home. She gave me my own shelf in the fridge and freezer, let me put my blender on the countertop and cook in the kitchen, and had towels and soap and all kinds of other goodies waiting for me in my room.
Their house is about 25 minutes north-west of downtown, just an easy drive down 183 & TX-1 to get to. The room itself was clean and private and comfortable, and had a TV with cable, a desk (and wifi) and a microwave. There is a man that stays with them who I shared a bathroom with, but he was not home very much. I also had my own little parking space in front of the house, and their dog Donnie is really calm and gentle, he got along with my (senior) dog just great.
In addition to all of that, they took me to the Alamo Cinema Drafthouse to go see a movie with them, invited me to go for a hike with them, AND let me take home this little stool that my dog had been using to help him get up on the bed. Seriously way beyond the extra mile!
If you are thinking of coming to Austin (and assuming you have a car or other means of transportation) then you will love staying here. This was my first experience on AirBNB; it was great and I feel like now I can honestly say "I have friends in Austin!" :)

We're easygoing professionals that enjoy meeting new people. I love martial arts, the outdoors, live music, good food and positive people. I can converse in Spanish and can cook a mean Mexican dinner.
