Large, private guest room in a long established Airbnb home. We are proud to have been hosting with Airbnb since 2010; we've built a community of current and returning guests. You will share the kitchen and bathroom with 2 other guests.
Welcome to the Mission and to our home. Our home is located on a quiet side street between two of the busiest streets in San Francisco's Mission District (Valencia and Mission Streets). We are two blocks from BART, one block from several major bus lines. You can be downtown (from out the door here via BART) in about 15 minutes. Although we are on a side street, please be aware that this is still a city so there may be city noises at night (street cleaning, garbage trucks, homeless folks with shopping carts, sirens).
I live here in the back of the apartment so it is very important to me that when you request to stay with us that you have a complete profile, meaning a picture or two of yourself, talk about the purpose of your visit, and have some references.
There are dozens of restaurants, cafes, bars, shops and theatres within a two block radius. This is foodie heaven. We are within a block of Ritual Coffee, Dosa, Foreign Cinema, Aquarius Records, Revolution Cafe, and the Makeout Room. There is always something fun going on around the neighborhood. Make sure to take a three block walk to Dolores Park, check out the local murals, and grab a burrito at a taqueria. The great part about our house is that we are so close to all the fun things yet this is still a quiet block: there are two businesses, three houses and one Buddhist center on our block.
There is metered parking on our block and are one hour spots in the neighborhood. If you are coming with a car, we can show you where there are tough to find and highly coveted weekly spots.
The bedroom is the extra large front room on the second story of our 1890's Victorian home. The room gets great sunlight from its four street facing windows. The room has a plush full size bed with two closets, couch, and a flat screen tv. Antique and retro details throughout the house and the bedroom. The house features hardwood floors throughout and high ceilings. There are tons of period details throughout the house.
Guests use a shared entrance to the house and share a large kitchen and bathroom with up to two other potential guests. Meals can be prepared in the ample kitchen (sink, gas stove, full refrigerator/freezer, microwave, blender, toaster oven).
Late arrival fee:
If you arrive for check-in past 11pm, we charge a $25 late check-in fee. we understand that life happens and sometimes planes get delayed etc....but we still have to go to work in the morning and a late check-in can be difficult for us.
Access to shared kitchen and shared bathroom (with 2 other people).
We live in this apartment with you. We will meet with you when you check in. I work during the day but am home in the evenings and enjoy having dinner with guests (or not!).
Our neighborhood is vibrant: full of eccentric shops, top rated restaurants, foodie culture, and just interesting things to do! I love sitting in Dolores Park, window shopping the neighborhood, buying groceries at the Farmer's Market on our block.
2.5 blocks from BART, 1/2 block from buses.

Jess & Seb are kind warm people and I hope to get to hang out with them often. They were flexible and understanding when my flight got delayed. The room I stayed in was very spacious, you could tell it was a re purposed living room but it gave it sort of Studio feel. Lots of privacy. If you're a cat person you'll love this location as their cats are very friendly. The location was amazing as it's a quick walk to the Bart. It's in the heart of the Mission and you can walk to just about anything you want.
I had a great time staying at Bartlett Gardens. I was a little worried at first since they have two dogs and two cats (I'm allergic) but fortunately it seems the room was clean enough that my allergies didn't affect me at all. The only time they rear their heads was when I couldn't resist petting the cats.
The room is huge and is equipped with pretty much everything you could need. Having cable in the room also improved my stay by giving me something to watch when I wasn't up to much.
It's in a great location as well, felt very safe and there is a whole bunch of useful things within walking distance. Not only that but my work was merely a handful of blocks away.
Best of all, the owners are great but also the people I lived with. They were not only sociable and inviting but also gave you all the space you could wish for. It felt like I had my own little apartment and you were bumping into your friendly neighbors in the hallways.
Would definitely stay again!
First up I need to apologise to Jessie and Seb - I was in such a rush the morning I left I completely forgot to sign the guest book!
I stayed with Jessie and Seb for a month, I was in San Francisco for work and the serviced apartment I normally use was not available. The room is exactly as described, bright and spacious, a comfortable bed (I slept well every night); Direct TV etc. There's even a big couch which my daughter slept on for a couple of days when she came to visit.
The house is bang in the middle of the Mission, 2 blocks from BART, multitude of food and coffee options within a few minutes walk.
Jessie and Seb are lovely, friendly people who were insistent on ensuring I had everything I needed.
This was a great alternative to my normal corporate accommodation and I'll definitely consider staying here again if I travel to San Francisco again.
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Filled with an eclectic mix of posters, art pieces and vintage furnitures. It has been such a colourful experience staying at Jessie's and Seb's place. My room was huge, I had a huge couch, big comfortable bed and cable tv all to myself. The location is fantastic as well. Right smack in the middle of Mission St and Valencia St. A wide variety of choice for good coffee, good food and also buzzing nightlife just a two minutes walk away. I would definitely recommend a stay at Jessie's and Seb's. Till we meet again! :)
This was my first experience with Air BnB. Jessica and Sebouh were so warm and helpful that I will definitely try it again.
I was lucky to stay in their home (an apartment on the second floor of a house) because usually long-stayers occupy the three rent-able rooms. I barely saw the others, so it was like having my own place complete with a friendly fat cat. I stayed in the large front room. It customarily serves as a living room so, besides the bed, there were two couches, a little desk, closet and even a space heater. Don’t worry about noise because it’s a front room, by the way. There is very little traffic on the street day or night.
This was a great way to get a feel for the Mission District. It’s still primarily working-class Hispanic but there is some gentrification afoot so--in addition to all the little Mexican, Colombian, etc. restaurants, takeaways, bakeries, grocery stores and music clubs-- there are a few trendy bistros, bookstores (e.g., Dog-Eared Books) nearby. Just a few doors on your left when exiting the apartment is a Buddhist meeting place. Jessica tells me there is also a bona fide Theravada Buddhist monastery a few streets away. In short: an interesting neighborhood. The address is just two short blocks from the 24th St. Mission BART station. From there it’s just a few stations to the airport. In the other direction, just few (three?) to Union Square and Market St.
Jesse and Seb are fantastic hosts - welcoming and generous with lots of great suggestions and information about the area. The house is really clean and homely - I loved the place so much I've extended my stay here.
The Mission is one of the coolest neighbourhoods in SF and this place is in the heart of it, I'd recommend it to anyone.
I had a brilliant stay on Bartlett Gardens, the room was surprisingly big and with an special decoration.
The location is in the heart of the Mission district has a lot of restaurants and cafes nearby and with a lot of murals to admire.
I highly recommend it to anyone that goes to SF.
Jessica is great, and Barlett Gardens is in a perfect location if you like the Mission. The room is very spacious and comfortable.
This was my first experience with AirBnB and it could not have been better. Jessie was a great host. She was always ready to help or give travel advice (in person or via the phone), but she very sensitive to the fact that travelers often just need autonomy and space to rest. Her home is beautiful and comfortable--this bright, spacious room in particular!
Also, I LOVED staying in the Mission. It is a great area of SF, with amazing food, lots to see and even a few great yoga studios within walking distance. If you stay here, make sure you visit the Mission Chinese restaurant and Hog and Rocks. Bartlett Gardens was convenient for me especially because I was attending a conference downtown and getting to and from the BART (and thus to and from downtown) was very, very easy.
