Located at the head of Otago Harbour, Dunedin is a beautiful historic city surrounded by rugged landscapes.
Our 1920's Californian style villa is the perfect location for you to base yourself, while you explore Dunedin and its surrounding area.
Close to the city, our comfortable home has two spacious
family sized rooms available. The larger room has a small fridge and tea and coffee making facilities.
There is lots to see and do in and around Dunedin. While you are here, you might like to visit Dunedin's museum which hosts a tropical rainforest. If you are into surfing, the St Clair beach is for you. A nice outing, for rainy days with the family, is a visit to the Cadbury Factory in town. Otago Peninsula, with the only land based Royal Albatross colony is a wonderful experience whether by land or sea.
If you are arriving by car, off street parking is available. Wireless Internet is also available for your use. The local bus to town stops just metres from our gate!
Our home is at the beginning of the Otago Peninsula. We are about ten minutes drive from the city centre, the stadium and the University. Otago Peninsula is a wonderful place to see wildlife such as seals, penguins and sea lions and numerous coastal birds in a beautiful and wild landscape. We are half an hour from the Albatross Colony which is at the end of the peninsula. .
We have two separate generous sized rooms and offer a good breakfast . When you want to relax you are welcome to join us in our lounge or in the conservatory.
Mike and I enjoy welcoming people to our home from all over the world as well as from New Zealand.
Maria and her family are just awesome hosts. We stayed at their place for three nights and had a wonderful time. The house is very big, clean and warm. Would come again.
Very comfortable place to stay. Very nice hosts. Great beds. The location is near the city center and just on the Peninsula. The bathroom was shared with other guests but was never a problem. Good continental breakfast. Fast internet. Recommended.
Our room was a haven, room to spread out, places to sit, a beverage tray. This old house had charm...as did our hosts. The environment was relaxed and welcoming and we enjoyed our stay.
A very happy friendly household. We enjoyed our stay with you, thank you so much. Will recommend you to friends
We rolled into Maria and Mike's place in the early evening and were treated to a warm welcome by Maria, Scruff, Rowena, and Tigger. This was a cozy, friendly place to stay with cool architecture and great views from the dining room onto the gardens. Great place.
Maria and Mike have a lovely home convenient for exploring the Otago Peninsular and its wildlife and Dunedin City. We were made very welcome and enjoyed the conversation over breakfast.
We would highly recommend staying here. We were made very welcome and enjoyed a good chat with Maria. We had a lovely breakfast and the house was beautiful. We only stayed 2 nights but wished we could have stayed longer.
Maria and her daughters were wonderful hosts, we were welcomed with open arms and it felt like coming home! They have a beautiful historic home with so much character. Mr. Scruffles and the cats were a homey addition to our stay. The conservatory was so nice and cosy.

I would highly recommend Maria's home as a place to stay if you are going through the beautiful town of Dunedin. We didn't meet Mike, but Maria and her daughter are wonderful people, enjoyed a lovely breakfast and conversation about each others lives. The room was very nice, clean, and she even put on blanket warmers prior to our arrival. It was a cold night, so it was MUCH appreciated! I would love to stay again.
