The apartment was lovely, clean, and centrally located in a great part of Rome. We were met by Edoard who kindly showed us how the keys worked and gave us suggestions on places to visit. Our stay here was very pleasant. We appreciated the well stocked kitchen so we could cook dinner for ourselves. I highly recommend staying here while in Rome.
The apartment is very close to the Colosseum - walking distance. The Metro is here as well. A bus - no 85 travels up the street and this bus can take you to a number of places including the bus terminal. The apartment is as per the photo, minus the couch and small sofa which has been replaced by two cane chairs and a table. The apartment is lovely - small; clean; cute and different to what you would normally expect. The photos gave me the impression the apartment was flooded with natural light - this is not the case. We had arranged for a private taxi through Melanie, which I highly recommend, and we were met at the apartment by their friend, Hugo, who showed us where everything was including a book prepared by Edoard & Melanie giving useful information as to various places of interest; cafes; and transport. We enjoyed our stay and the apartment - we are a couple, of medium build and in good health. The apartment would not be suitable for very tall people or those who are extremely overweight (due to narrow staircase - which I absolutely loved) and rather unique bathroom area. It is also not suitable for older people due to the number of stairs, type of stairs and tight bathroom area. Older people are not quite as agile. I highly recommend it to those who like something different.
Really nice loft, great location. Perfect for what we wanted. Tom picked an amazing place for my 21st! So romantic.
A recommander vivement!
This apartment is very cool and located in a great part of Rome, quiet but accessible to all the tourist destinations, metro stations and restaurants. The Basilica di San Giovanni in Laterano is a must visit! The kitchen and bathroom are well stocked. The bed is very comfortable and it is only one floor up, so easy to access. There is a store RIGHT outside the front door with drinks, snacks and fruit, and several restaurants right on the street. We loved getting to know the neighborhood! Eduardo and Melani have left a fantastic list of sites, restaurants, directions and recommendations. We went to several of the restaurants they recommended and all were fantastic, especially the traditional Roman restaurant near the Vatican. I cannot remember the name of the lady who met us to let us into the apartment, but she was very sweet and answered all of our questions. We had a fantastic time in this beautiful apartment in an incredible city.
It was clean but that was about the only positive. We stayed in this apartment for 3 nights in May 2016 and it was 3 nights too many! This apartment is not a "loft" as it was described when it was booked. It's in a basement and the small window was level with the road. The photos that are on airbnb have been professionally taken and/or manipulated. There is absolutely NO natural light in this apartment. It can be bright sunshine outside but the apartment is still pitch black. I'd hated to have come in the height of summer! It was stuffy, small and claustrophobic. The whole thing felt very unsafe with a mezzanine floor, that made some very peculiar noises and a glass walkway to the bathroom (in the cupboard) that had a crack in it. There were no smoke alarms and thank goodness there wasn't a fire as I don't think we'd have been found. The photos depict a sofa, which was no longer there and suggests it was light and airy. I can see that they have tried to make it quirky but have done quite a bad job and everything felt generally cheap, badly decorated and untidy. The bathroom as I mentioned was in a small hole half way up the wall and the shower was impossible for an average height person to fit under (as was most of the apartment). As well as that, it was only possible to have, at best, 1.5 showers per day due to the lack of hot water. The bathroom then stayed very wet for the rest of the day. The plug for the sink didn't work and the toilet didn't flush properly meaning it made a gushing sound the entire time. The fridge hummed all night and there were noises coming from the other apartments, not to mention the horrendous road noise that sounded as though a car would come in at any second. Not relaxing and should not be a holiday apartment. I feel slightly duped by previous positive reviews of this place, which was our premise for booking.
the loft is as described and picture were taken directly by airbnb..so its really hard to immagine what you are saying. airbnb does not manipulate pictures! ahah there is a big window from which natural light come from. it is a soppalcoed loft so, as the word says, ceilings are normally lower than normal...but this is what realy makes the loft particular. the soppalco night area is made of wood..and the glass walkway is stable! all other reviews have stated the amazing well decoration of the loft..maybe you can 't appreciate beautiful things..i hope you could appreciate the Colosseum..and not represent it as a block of old ruined stones! all in the loft is well captured and photographed ..so it s really hard to trust your review!
Melani and Edoard's apartment was lovely and fantastically located for an amazing few days in Rome.Communication throughout was excellent and the handover was easy.
Would definitely recommend.
