This space is exactly as described and the host is the best you can imagine. Provided a very clear visitor's manual with a selection of local maps and guides. Better than a typical hotel, this is a very cool artist's loft in a repurposed building. As is common in Toronto, you can hear the neighbours a little bit, but it was never a problem. (As soon I turned on the shower before bed, the next-door neighbour became quiet as a mouse.) Not a ton of closet space, and the washroom is a bit compact. But the bed is very comfortable, and the location is outstanding. Karey is a terrific host, with a thoughtful and generous spirit and fabulous artistic taste that shows throughout the apartment, from her own canvases near the desk to the decoration in the shower stall (right down to the rubber duck). The place is filled with a aura of liveliness and joy. I needed flexible departure arrangements, which Karey was able to provide (your mileage may vary). Other thoughtful touches included some toiletries (body wash, mouthwash). Public parking in the lot right across the street (you can see it from the window) costing about $14 per 24 hrs. An amazing area with a very youthful vibe, and just a few minutes' walk from my meeting. Thanks, Karey, for a great visit.
My husband and I absolutely loved staying at Karey's place. The loft is beautiful and has such a good vibe to it. Karey has really made her place feel cozy and welcoming with many personal touches so you will find anything you might need but at the same time the place feels very open and airy largely due to the high ceilings. The area is amazing, you will find everything you need on your doorstep from banks, pharmacies, grocery, pubs, coffee shops, to restaurants, etc. There is a bus stop across the street and the King streetcar up the street, ideal for the Tiff, also 15 minutes walk to the Drake Hotel :) ... If you stay at Karey's you will be a short streetcar ride away from downtown and since they run all night you can stay out as late as you want. Karey was an amazing host, very helpful, friendly and welcoming, everything was as said in the listing and better... She is an awesome host and the neighbours are great too :) Karey has made our special occasion stay at her loft completely hassle free and we would definitely stay there again. Thank you Karey :)
I had a great short stay with Karey. The apartment was really charming and quirky. Karey seems like an experienced airbnb host and communication was very smooth.
To say that Karey exceeded all my expectations would be an understatement. Her place was even better than it looked online--it was amazing: beautiful, spacious, clean, in an equally beautiful building and right in the heart of one of Toronto's coolest neighborhoods. Unfortunately, I didn't get to meet her, as she was out of town during my stay but I could instantly tell she was a pretty awesome person and an excellent hostess. I highly recommend staying with her and I will definitely look her up for my next visit.
Karey was great! even with OUR troubles :P Recommend to one and all......and the food at the restaurant nearby is world class!
We had a great time at Karey's loft. She was very friendly, helpful, and accomodating. The space is lively, inviting, quiet, and comfortable with Karey's artistic touches of warmth and character throughout. It is easy to get around on foot and streetcar to the rest of the city but it was also just great to explore the neighborhood's coffee shops, restaurants, and bars. We ate shawarma 1-2 per day! The rates were reasonable and we would definitely stay there again if/when we come back to Toronto.
We stayed at Karey's place for a week. It was as advertised, and we had no major issues during our stay. Neighbour was nice and safe. Good local coffee shops and cafes.
Karey was great and her place was everything and more! I stayed at this apartment during the Toronto Film Festival. It was nice to be away from the hustle and bustle of downtown, but still close enough to where you didn't have to take a taxi. I actually walked a lot. The neighborhood is really fun. Also, a great restaurant has opened right downstairs, very convenient indeed. The apartment itself was very cute, although I didn't really spend much time there. I give it a big thumbs up! Highly recommend!
