Welcome to New Zealand!
Large friendly and art filled house on hill overlooking Wellington harbour and South Coast. Piano, books, garden. Two separate and private guest bedrooms, seaviews, one with ensuite and one with bathroom down the hall. Home theatre.
We are located 5 minutes to airport and just 8 minute drive to inner city. Bus-stop is 7 minute walk with buses every 10 minutes. Parking right outside front door.
Hosts are hospitable and welcoming but both working so allow guests to do their own thing. Unpredictable work hours with film/theatre directing and architectural design (working from home).
House is close to bus, beach, cafes, pools, zoo, nice walks. Theres a rather interactive cat but no children. Very relaxed house - can't think of any house rules - except smoking, which should be done outside. Tea, coffee, continental breakfast (website hidden), meals negotiable. Household is semi-vegetarian. Both bedrooms are available at $86 per bedroom.
Look forward to meeting you soon!
My colleague and I stayed in Sara's lovely house during a short weekend trip to Wellington. We loved the details and decoration in the house as well as the sea views from the terrace. Sara made us feel very welcome and also provided breakfast in the mornings. She also has an absolutely lovely cat that enjoyed our attention :)
We would highly recommend Sara's place and would love to return one day.
Located south east of the city and a 10minute walk from the nearest bus stop the house was easy to find. It has amaxing views over the bay and the decor was amazing like a boutique hotel! Sara was very welcoming and accomodated our dietry requirements very well. The bed was very comfy, our room had its own balcony and a great little en-suite bathroom. Breakfast was delicious and a great bonus, thanks for having us!
Perfect place to stay in Wellington: clean, modern, nice and specious place! Rooms with private bathroom. The view from the terrace is priceless. Sarah is an excellent host, provides any information you need. Great to chat with. The house is close to the buses to city (2 min walk), and it takes only 15 - 20 min to the Wellington center. I recommend Sarah's place anyone who wants to enjoy Wellington and relax.
Sara was a very kind and friendly host. The house was very nice and clean.
Had a great holiday. Loved the flat furnished in a fancy way. Beautiful view from the windows.
Sara has been a wonderfull host. At your place you feel like at home and in holiday at the same time. Her place is just amazing, just 15 min away from the citycenter with a beautiful view. We can highly recommand to stay at her place while spending some days in Wellington.
Sara has a lovely home and was very welcoming (as was Juno the cat!) Our room was clean and comfortable with en-suite shower/toilet. The views from the house are beautiful - worth the steep hill! We stayed for 2 nights and felt relaxed - Sara was around and friendly but we also felt like we had our own space too. Plenty of cereal/bread/spreads/juice/coffee were provided for breakfast. We were able to bring takeaway dinner back to the house which was great. Location was very convenient for the zoo and only a few minutes drive to the Weta cave. Thank you for a very enjoyable stay.

I am an Architectural Designer working from home. My first career was a TV director and producer where I met my husband who is a drama director and actor. I have no children but my husband has a 22 yr old daughter. We live in Wellington but like to travel a lot. Our interests seem to be architecture, art, theatre, films, global politics and economics, travel. Our style of travelling ranges from a comfortable weekend away in a nice hotel to back-packing around Eastern Europe.
5 Things I couldn't live without: coffee, wine, plane tickets, friends, movies, architecture magazines.
We enjoy meeting new people and having people around the house but we like to let people do their own thing.
