You ascend /I Joke - The district to the fashion for excellence

If we should choose in Rome "the" district, this has been Mountains. Become from (email hidden), you Ascend lived with its reputation of some XXI century in the last years revived. In past, to the times of Caesar, you Ascend it was the Slum, a popular sovraffollato district, that maintained with pride l' attitude of ragazzaccio until its all revived' beginning of the century. Now Mountains has transformed, to say the all, has turned bourgeois, in an everything of fop of meeting place the age. The charming roads of sampietrini and the picturesque palaces conjugate themselves perfectly with the traditional bar and to the fashion of Mountains, with restaurants, you negotiate and local.

To orientate itself

The boundaries of the zone go from the hill of the Quirinale to the Roman Forum, including the two adjacent hills: Opium and Us It It, and part dell' Esquilino. You think about the zone like to a weird rectangle with Road of the Snakes, Road of the Fagutale and Via Merulana to its base, and National Road and Road of the both Aradam tracciandone the height. The heart of the district is the intersezione between Road of the Snakes, Lion-like Road and Urban Road, and Square of the Madonna of the Mountains. This crossroads, on the stop of the meter Cavour would have to be the point of reference while visited the district.

The close zones include the ancient town restive ei dell' ancient Rome among which we find the Roman Forum, the Coliseum and l' Esquilino where it is found the Station you Finish.

You know your neighbor

All they want to continue to label Mountains like an "authentic" Roman district, but the truth is that the district is a local mix of families, students and foreign workers. It is not rare it hear a little' of English mixed to the romanaccio (Roman dialect). C' is always upstream traffic having gone through from via Cavour and National road, is full of residents, men d' business, of tourists and often of demonstrators. During the strikes and the shows you Ascend swarms of people, of latecomers that arrive from the squares or from the residents that just are gone out. This is l' air that it is breathed in the district, for this upstream c' is a fine motion.

To do shopping

The zone of Mountains offers a' spacious range of shops: from the pharmacies to the grocerieses; from the boutique to the fashion to the handicraft shops. In the heart of the district, Urban Road and Road of the Grove are the roads where to go to find practically any thing – an original gift, apparel vintage and not, you articulate for the house, shoemakers, bakeries and a prestigious mosaicists. Also the neighboring roads offer a little' of everything from the knick-knacks to the biological markets, now a lot to the fashion. For the shopping of always National Road is supplied with Italian and international mark how Drunk, Benetton, Etam and Blue Sand. In National Road they find themselves also a large bookstore and Castroni, an international supermarket a little expensive one with English products of marks, Americans, here you will be able to buy Marmite (yeast of summary of cream), butter of peanuts or laughed Japanese. If l' local craftsmanship is between your interest, in Road of San Giovanni in Lateran (more near the Coliseum) there are exclusive boutique.

To take a walk

To move itself upstream it is very easy and suitable. Different bus go through everywhere all of the district, like (phone number hidden) and 117. These bus connect Mountains with the Vatican (40, 64, 81), the Center (phone number hidden)), I make one's will / Trastevere / the Janiculum (75), Square of the People (117) and the Station you Finish (40, 64, 75). Besides, you Ascend it is served from the stopped Cavour and Coliseum that connect the zone to the railroad station of Limits, so like all the other stops on the dark blue line (B). Not to surprise yourself if you Ascend it is also to little steps from the historic city center and from Rome Ancient. To see

You ascend it is a cultural crossroads. The district is full of arcades d' contemporary art and museums, together to ancient monuments. Very interesting it is its recent evolution in the mecca for the lovers of the good food thanks to its best refreshing and to the food shops. L' atmosphere is festive with its bar and its lively life from square.

To see in the environs

In the strip of things to see upstream there are the Coliseum and the Imperial Holes, to visit its museums and the market of TWO century, or to give a look to the column and to the basilica of Trajan. On the north side-west of the district c' is the Palace of the Exhibitions, an expository space for shows of large I recall contemporary while in the neighbor Via Panisperna there are different small art galleries.

On the south side-eastern of the zone (near the Coliseum) it is found the Church of Mild San, favorite place for him fascinated of underground archeology, it is discussed in fact of a church built on a' other church of the THE century built to its time on the foundation of a Roman house. Almost hidden in the heart of quest' area it is found the church of San Pietro in Ties, with an extraordinary sculptural group of Michelangelo.

To eat outside

Lately, you Ascend it a point of reference for the connoisseurs became to the search for rolls, pizza or traditional dishes. Between the local more requests there are Restaurant you Ascend, The Carbonara and Tavern of the Imperial Holes for the Roman kitchen, for the pizza consigliamo Carts, but is really difficult to list "the better refreshing of Mountains". Here because Rome has some gastronomic blog, a prolific group of individuals always pledged in farvi to know what is better to eat Rome and particularly upstream. To deepen conrecensioni and post on the stage feed of Mountains, from the a' look to ParlaFood and Elizabeth Minchilli.

Nocturnal life

All they want to go out upstream, of day and of night. L' atmosphere is always the same one, independently from the moment of the day. The nocturnal life upstream means bar and local between which To Three Steps, a country wine bar and often very busy, Urban47, a bar / restaurant to the fashion and Square of the Madonna of the Mountains in which the people stops itself simply in square. New entry on the stage is the Propaganda Caffe, dall' other side of the (email hidden) restaurant. Between the local nocturnal they count the Charity Café, a club of jazz from the living person and House Tangerine, a local that s' inspires all' atmosphere housewife.

  • 위치도 좋았고 주인도 좋았지먀 고급스럽지는 않았어요ㅜㅜ 매우작고 오래된 집입니다. 그에 비해 가격은 비쌌구요ㅜㅜ 아마도 위치때문인듯..

  • Coliseum Home Prestige is a beautifully decorated, charming, and cozy apartment in a great location. Everything we needed for our stay was available and the hosts were very pleasant and helpful. While situated in a vibrant neighborhood, the apartment is very quiet. We had a delicious lunch in the restaurant across the street and got all food supplies from nearby grocery, bakery, and deli stores. Our stay in Rome was wonderful and we hope to come back some time in the future!

  • Luis Miguel was easy to communicate with and helped arrange easy transportation from airport to his home. Pleasant interaction on arrival, too. The home is as described, maybe more spacious than I'd anticipated. Convenient full kitchen, dining area, living room/TV space. Awesome wifi. Could not be more centrally located, but not noisy. Small street with a couple of really good restaurants (we ran into Rick Steves in the restaurant across the street!) Vegan chocolate shop up the street is cool.

  • Luis was a great host. He met us right on time and the apartment was just as pictured. The location was great - just a block from the Metro station. The beds were comfortable and the living room was spacious, with enough room to relax after a long day walking on the cobblestone roads of Rome.

  • This apartment is in an absolutely fantastic location. You walk out the door and everything is right there. The apartment is spacious and kept very clean, and it has everything in it you could want, including umbrellas, books, shampoo, everything. Plus Luis is a lovely and friendly person and is very helpful. The one thing you should know is that there is almost no natural light inside, so it does feel a bit gloomy to go in there when it is a beautiful sunny day. But you are hanging out in the Monti, so who cares? We hung out by the fountain a lot, just reading and watching the people go by. Such a great neighborhood!

Oh, be sure to ask Luis to show you how to open the front door with the key. It is not obvious how the key works and there are several keyholes on the door. Once you know how, it is easy!

  • Three of my friends and I stayed at Luis's place for 3 nights when we visited Rome this March. We had a great stay. The apt is very clean, quite, and spacious for 4 people. The location is great, only short distance away from the subway station and bus 71. Highly recommend! The only issue was that the host was late for more than 40 min when we checked in. But when Luis's girlfriend finally showed up to let us in, she was super nice, recommended nearby restaurants, and explained that they were at work.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here. I'd come back to Luis's apt if I ever visit Rome again.
