In a quiet oasis just a quick 0.5 mile from the buzz and bustle of Byres Road, this is great quality, comfortable and ideal base from which to explore the myriad of Glasgow's delights.

Built in circa 1880, the flat itself is a great example of a traditional Glaswegian sandstone tenement home, with period features to match. The original floorboards have been stripped back to reveal the gorgeous original hardwood in all it's glory. Though traditional, the apartment has recently been thoroughly modernised.

Furnished to a high standard, some of the apartment’s many amenities include: a bright, bay windowed, double bedded bedroom; an additional single bedroom with the possibility of a crib; a bright and comfortable Living room with dining table; the option of an additional rollaway bed; unlimited fast WIFI access; TV with all UK Freeview Radio and TV channels; DVD and CD player; a Kitchen equipped with mod cons; Bathroom with luxuriously deep bathtub and electric power shower with unlimited piping hot water; stacks of storage space; and plenty of FREE on-street parking.

Suitable for guests of all ages, shapes and sizes, the apartment’s also proved to be very popular with families because it’s such a great base - very close to all the ‘Best of the West’ but in a quiet oasis sheltered from very busy and noisy thoroughfares such as Byres Road. There’s also a good park with play area literally at the end of the street. The larger and idyllic Victoria Park is also a short walk away, and is great for a picnic or for a stroll along it’s walkways. There is ‘parking’ or storage space right outside the apartment’s front door for locking bikes or buggies if required. The apartment is equipped with a brand new travel crib / cot and also a brand new high chair for feeding time.

The closest bus stop to the apartment is literally 2 minutes from the front door, with the closest mainline Train station and Tube stop (both named ‘Partick’) being a 5 minute walk away down Dumbarton Road. There is a medium sized retail park, which includes Sainsburys, Marks and Spencers and Boots, a wee stroll from the apartment on Crow Road where you’ll be able to get pretty much anything you need.

The West End is the Best End, no doubt about it! The immediate neighbourhood has some hidden gems well worth visiting. The popular St. Louis Café is literally a hop, skip and a jump from the front door, with people coming from far and wide especially to sample the wonderful Sunday brunch menu. I'd pop into 'dtails', again just a wee stroll from the flat, if only to see what wonderful period furniture Eleanor et al are restoring in traditional ways that are dying out as you read. I'm not really a believer in rules, but I expect guests to respect and care for the property while they are there - sorry, this means no parties in any form!

The neighbours are quiet and so I ask that guests respect this while entering and leaving the apartment.

We had such a great stay at David's apartment in Glasgow. It truly felt like home for the 5 days we spent there. It's in a pretty good location and a short walk to the great bars and restaurants in Glasgow's West End. David is an excellent host and we had everything we needed during our stay. We'll definitely be back!

My family and I loved our stay in David's flat in Glasgow-- it's a lovely space and away from the bustle yet a nice walk from nearly everywhere! David was a wonderful host-- warm and welcoming, helpful, and easy to communicate with throughout. We couldn't have asked for a better place to call home during our stay!

The flat was located in a nice area and convenient to 2 major grocery stores and the subway and train were only a short walk away. The flat was a bit more outdated than advertised. There was no central heating which made things a bit cold at times. David was very nice and friendly, however, it seemed as though we were constantly receiving messages in which he was trying to enter the flat i.e. fixing wall cracks, showing the flat to others. While I understand we stayed at the flat for a month, it made us uncomfortable that he was constantly trying to enter the flat. Overall, it was a good experience.

Nice spacious apartment, convenient to Patrick Station.Close to some beautiful neighborhoods and good restaurants. David made us feel welcome and at home. It was nice to have room to stretch out!

Just perfect. Wonderful clean flat, nice location in West End, short walk (5-10 min) to grocery (Marks and Spencer) and about 15-20 minutes to Byers Rd with lots of restaurants. Everything exactly as described. We arrived Glasgow Airport early Sunday morning and the buses don't run until like 10 a.m. so we had to take a cab in. Since we couldn't check in until 11, we had to roll our luggage around for a few hours, and finally did find a nice cafe open at 9:30 or so. Would recommend this apt for sure, but try for a later arrival into Glasgow and take the bus to nearby Partick Station.

We enjoyed our 2-night stay in this cozy, comfortable, well-equipped, west-end flat. The location was great -- easy to find, plenty of free on-street parking, close to restaurants, and quiet. Morag was a pleasure.

I have travelled extensively in Scotland and overseas, and still travel frequently for work and pleasure. I spent a few years living and working in Canada and Australia, and so these two countries will always have a special place in my heart. Some of my other most memorable trips include - Iceland, Mauritius, Borneo, Jordan and India. Currently the wonderfully vibrant city of Istanbul comes at the top of my favourite cities list, with New York, Helsinki, Lisbon and Budapest currently fighting it out for second place!

I love nothing more than meeting new people, from whichever country they may hail. and look forward to making some new friends and acquaintances through Airbnb.

Long term firm favourites of mine are Led Zeppelin, Prince and Pink Floyd, but right now I'm very much enjoying Mercan Dede's modern twist on traditional Turkish music and a taxi driver's Bedouin CD I copied hurriedly in the back of his taxi in Agadir.
