In a quiet oasis just a quick 0.5 mile from the buzz and bustle of Byres Road, this is great quality, comfortable and ideal base from which to explore the myriad of Glasgow's delights.

Built in circa 1880, the flat itself is a great example of a traditional Glaswegian sandstone tenement home, with period features to match. The original floorboards have been stripped back to reveal the gorgeous original hardwood in all it's glory. Though traditional, the apartment has recently been thoroughly modernised.

Furnished to a high standard, some of the apartment’s many amenities include: a bright, bay windowed, double bedroom; an additional single bedroom with the possibility of a crib; a bright and comfortable Living room with dining table; the option of an additional rollaway bed; unlimited fast WIFI access; TV with all UK Freeview Radio and TV channels; DVD and CD player; a Kitchen equipped with mod cons; Bathroom with luxuriously deep bathtub and electric power shower with unlimited piping hot water; stacks of storage space; and plenty of FREE on-street parking.

Suitable for guests of all ages, shapes and sizes, the apartment’s also proved to be very popular with families because it’s such a great base - very close to all the ‘Best of the West’ but in a quiet oasis sheltered from very busy and noisy thoroughfares such as Byres Road. There’s also a good park with play area literally at the end of the street. The larger and idyllic Victoria Park is also a short walk away, and is great for a picnic or for a stroll along it’s walkways. There is ‘parking’ or storage space right outside the apartment’s front door for locking bikes or buggies if required. The apartment is equipped with a brand new travel crib / cot and also a brand new high chair for feeding time.

The closest bus stop to the apartment is literally 2 minutes from the front door, with the closest mainline Train station and Tube stop (both named ‘Partick’) being a 5 minute walk away down Dumbarton Road. There is a medium sized retail park, which includes Sainsburys, Marks and Spencers and Boots, a wee stroll from the apartment on Crow Road where you’ll be able to get pretty much anything you need.

The immediate neighbourhood has some hidden gems well worth visiting. The popular St. Louis Café is literally a hop, skip and a jump from the front door, with people coming from far and wide especially to sample the wonderful Sunday brunch menu. I'd pop into 'dtails', again just a wee stroll from the flat, if only to see what wonderful period furniture Eleanor et al are restoring in traditional ways that are dying out as you read. Price is for two people sharing the double room. If two people require the second bedroom to be available, book for three people. If three people require the extra bed to be available, book for four people.

  • Perfect flat, clean and comfortable, excellent instructions, David was flexible and quick to respond to queries, Morag was very nice and arrived as arranged to let me into the flat early on a Saturday morning. We (3 people) had a great time - the flat was perfectly located to explore the West End of Glasgow, including big supermarkets very closeby and good transport links.

  • David was responsive and helpful throughout the booking process and the flat was as advertised. Everything worked well. If you're visiting in winter, bring warmish clothes - the heaters work well, but the floor gets cold. The stairs up to the flat gives you an authentic experience of Glasgow tenements and I enjoyed my stay.

  • My husband and I stayed in David Apartment for 3 days. The apartment was very lovely. Although the weather was a bit chilly, the flat was warm and cozy. We also enjoyed the neighbourhood. There were lots of restaurants and cafes ! Easy to hang out. We walked down to Kelvingrove museum and had a beer in west end area.

  • We stayed at this place for a week. The appartment in very well located in the west end area, walkable distance from Parttick subway/train stations. Very comfortable. All the apartment is well equipped and you will enjoy your stay here for sure. We recommend this place.

  • Íbúðin er hugguleg eldri íbúð á góðum stað í Galsgow. Hún er snyrtileg og hentug fyrir þrjá til fjóra. Ferðin frá flugvellinum er ekki í nema 10 mínútna akstur í leigubíl sem er mjög þægilegt þar sem við rötuðum ekki og vorum með farangur. Það var áhyggjuefni í fyrstu að vegalengdin væri of mikil frá bænum en það er einfalt að fara út á lestarstöð, tekur 7-10 mínútur að ganga. Íbúðin var svolítið köld í upphafi þar sem hitastigið utandyra var ekki nema nokkrar gráður en ofnarnir hitnuðu nokkuð hratt. Í alla staði fór vel um okkur í íbúðinni og þökkkum við fyrir það.

  • We had a lovely stay at David's flat! It is a real home from home, tastefully furnished and provided everything we needed. The directions before our arrival were excellent and the check-in with Morag was very easy-going. Several supermarkets and the underground station are conveniently close by and even Byres Road and Glasgow Uni are still in walking distance. We would definitely recommend David's flat to anyone looking for a quiet spot in the heart of a bustling city.

  • David's place was a great location for our trip, close to the underground and near all the cool spots and in the Westend, (the beautiful botanical gardens and the Kelvingrove Museum to name a few). The apartment had all the things we needed and was warm and comfortable. Morag, David's wonderful assistant, was lovely and went out of her way to ensure we had a everything we needed and was extremely warm and helpful. I would recommend David's apartment to anyone - it's a great price, clean and cosy!
