Maxine was extremely welcoming and was very quick to give recommendations and helpful information.
Her room is lovely and very comfortable. Just what we wanted. Very convenient location too. Right by Little Italy, just a short walk away.
Nice neighborhood, the one thing to note is that there are very loud airplanes going overhead, which kept us awake the first night.
Maxine was great though and the location is truly fantastic for exploring San Diego.
I'm glad my first AirBnB existiera m experience was with Maxine. The place was fantastic, and she's an awesome host. It's close to everything you would want to see or do in San Diego.
What a treat this past week was. Maxine was a warm loving hostess that made me feel at home the moment I walked through the door. I was town for a convention for the week and my first place did not work out. She accepted my request for the next day and I am sure glad she did. Her home is warm and inviting. The room was comfortable and perfect for someone who is there on business or for a holiday. The photos are exactly what the place looks like and more! Maxine kept her place supplied for guests - better than a hotel! Coffee was ready every morning and an enjoyable conversation to be had. The location was perfect, far enough from downtown – a quick walk to Little Italy, the harbor and Balboa Park. Uber was always around to pick me up and take me where I wanted to go within minutes if I didn’t want to walk. Comments were made by others about the sounds of the planes, but I would take those over the sounds of traffic, people on the streets and sirens as some of the Airbnb's and hotel guests told me about who stayed in downtown San Diego. In fact I look forward to another trip to San Diego and a stay at Maxine's - this time will be for pleasure.
This was my first time to visit San Diego, and it was helpful to have an expert host like Maxine, she helped me a lot and gave me valuable advices to save my time and money, also the room was really nice and the bathroom well maintained.
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Maxine is a very generous and helpful lady who gave us lots of information and suggestions about San Diego.
As we were walkers, the house is really close to most of the attractions, like littly Italy, uss midway , the pier to Coronado as well as the trolley station.
The restaurants in little Italy are perfect!!!!!!must try!!
The house is clean and tidy with comfortable bedroom and the bathroom is just adjacent to it.
Since it is close to the airport, the noice of aircrafts is inevitable.
But it definitely is a good place to stay as the area is safe and the homeless are harmless.
Loved staying here. It was close to everything. Loved walking to the local brewery! Maxine was wonderful and her home is welcoming and very comfy bed. Very quite neighborhood (except for airplanes!) Loved watching the planes land and watch the sunset on porch! Would love to stay again!
About the Host, Maxine
I was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA and have lived in San Diego since the late eighties. I am retired from the Real Estate industry and know this city very well. I am an urbanite so I enjoy city travel very much, including visiting museums, theaters, city parks, dining, and spas. I look forward to sharing my favorite local spots in America's Finest City with you. I have always enjoyed hosting travellers from all parts of the world for short or long term rentals. Staying at a bed & breakfast is my favorite type of accomodation. As your host, I will provide "old San Diego stories" for your entertainment during High Tea, if you wish!
High Tea is served daily from 5:30pm-7:00pm during your stay.
