In the neighbourhood there are tavernas and two of the most famous organised beaches on the island, Kolymbithres and Monastiri, where you can practice watersports. Monastiri cove is always sheltered from wind and waves. The area is very popular and offers a variety of services. The restaurant-bar is open all day long, there is an open-air free cinema, a theatre for live music. Extensive walking paths lead to small beaches and spectacular view points. My favorite walk is to the old lighthouse.
St. John's old monastery lies above Monastiri beach, a gem of local architecture and a favourite choice for weddings. On August 28, a celebration takes places around the monastery. The local alcoholic beverage, 'souma' is free. Bring along your picnic, enjoy the music and dance to the sounds to traditional cycladic tunes.
This house has lived many happy summers. I wish you to continue this tradition.

I love this place. It's unique. Still unspoilt. The old house has been standing there for centuries, surrounded by barley fields and small vineyards. It used to be the centre of a working farm. This is what the word "Katikia" means. No swimming pool. Just a beautiful sandy beach in the back garden. Come to this enchanting place and wake up to the sounds of nature. In June and July pick berries from the mulberry trees and prepare the most delicious jam. Go for a swim or lay in the sun whenever you feel like it. The water is so close! Have your meals on any of the terraces, looking at the sea. Walk to the old lighthouse or up the nearby hill for a spectacular view. Watch the change of colors as the sun sets. At night, gaze at the stars or at the lights of Naoussa across the bay. And if you are in the mood for nightlife, Naoussa is only a 10 minute drive away.
