Hiker's Haven— and the name delivers. Steps from the Thunder Mountain trailhead with immediate access to the Coffee Pot Rock and Sugarloaf trail system. This newly updated 3-bedroom West Sedona retreat offers 2 king bedrooms, a queen bedroom, stunning red rock views through expansive windows, a private hot tub, a spacious back deck, and sunset vistas over the formations every evening. Half a mile from restaurants and galleries. Designated workspace with printer. The trail starts at your door.

The space
THE SPACE
Hikers Haven is a nearly 3,000-square-foot West Sedona vacation rental with a private hot tub, direct Sugarloaf Mountain and Coffee Pot Rock views, and walkable access to one of Sedona's premier trail networks. This 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom Sedona luxury vacation home gives couples, families, and groups the rare combination of genuine square footage, high-end amenities, and trail access steps from the front door — without the Uptown traffic, parking stress, or cramped layouts that most Sedona rentals ask guests to accept.
At nearly 3,000 square feet, this West Sedona vacation home is one of the most spacious options in the area. The open-concept layout connects the living room, dining area, and kitchen into one generous, comfortable flow. Large windows frame Sugarloaf Mountain and Coffee Pot Rock from inside the home — from the couch, the dining table, and the kitchen counter. Sedona's famous light plays out directly in front of you every morning and every evening without stepping outside. For a Sedona red rock vacation home, this view access is exceptional.
The living room features comfortable leather and upholstered seating alongside a Bose sound system — the detail that separates a home that's been genuinely thought about from one that hasn't. A large smart TV with streaming covers movie nights when the day's adventure is done.

KITCHEN & DINING
The fully equipped kitchen features granite countertops, modern appliances, and generous counter space built for real cooking. Whether you're prepping breakfast before the Sugarloaf trailhead, packing a picnic lunch for the red rocks, or sitting down to a full group dinner, the kitchen handles it. The dining area seats all six guests at one table — more important than it sounds after a long day outdoors together.
The bright kitchen café area includes a dedicated desk-style workspace with excellent natural light. Combined with high-speed WiFi throughout the home, Hikers Haven is one of the best Sedona extended stay vacation rentals available — genuinely functional for remote work, not just technically equipped for it.

THE BEDROOMS
Three bedrooms give every guest genuine privacy and comfort.
Primary Suite — A king bed with a cozy seating area, flat-screen TV, and direct red rock views. The private ensuite bathroom is the standout amenity of this Sedona luxury vacation rental: a walk-in shower, spacious vanity, and a jetted soaking triangle tub that earns its place after a serious day on the trails. Not a decorative fixture. The soak that ends the conversation about sore legs.
Bedroom 2 — King bed with calming decor and quality bedding, easy access to the shared guest bathroom. Quiet, private, and comfortable.
Bedroom 3 — Queen bed with flat-screen TV, ideal for a third couple, older kids, or solo travelers who want to wind down with a show.
Guest Bathroom — Tub and shower combination shared between Bedrooms 2 and 3.
Fresh linens, towels, and guest toiletries provided for every stay.

A note on the neighborhood: the streets surrounding Hikers Haven were, from 1946 to 1959, a Republic Pictures Western movie set where John Wayne, Joan Crawford, and Glenn Ford filmed some of the most celebrated Westerns ever made. The street names reference that history. Coffee Pot Rock — visible from this property — appears in the background of 3:10 to Yuma (1957). You're not just staying in West Sedona. You're staying on the set.

OUTDOOR LIVING
The private deck at this West Sedona vacation home with hot tub is built for full daily use. Outdoor dining, a BBQ grill, and a private hot tub with unobstructed red rock views make this space a genuine extension of the interior. Morning coffee facing Sugarloaf Mountain. Dinner outside while the canyon walls shift from gold to red. A long soak under the Arizona stars after the trails have worked your legs over. West Sedona's low light pollution means the night sky here is a real experience — not background scenery.
The fully fenced backyard adds privacy and a quiet enclosed space to unwind. Families with kids benefit from the secure perimeter, and anyone who wants to sit outside without feeling exposed will appreciate how the yard is laid out.

TRAIL ACCESS — STEPS FROM THE FRONT DOOR
Hikers Haven sits within easy walking distance of the Sugarloaf trailhead and the broader Thunder Mountain, Sugarloaf, Teacup, and Chimney Rock trail system — one of the most celebrated networks in West Sedona. Sugarloaf trailhead is 0.8 miles from the front door. Teacup Trail is 1.1 miles. Both walkable, both bikeable, both putting you on the red rocks before most visitors have found a parking spot.
Sugarloaf Loop — Accessible and rewarding, with sweeping views and direct sightlines to Coffee Pot Rock. Spectacular at sunrise and sunset.
Teacup Trail — Winding singletrack through classic West Sedona terrain, connecting into the broader system for longer runs and hikes.
Chimney Rock — A distinctive West Sedona formation accessible from the same network, offering a different perspective and a rewarding route for guests seeking variety.
Thunder Mountain Trail — The signature route for guests wanting elevation, solitude, and panoramic red rock views that reward the climb.
All routes interconnect — multiple days of exploration without driving to a trailhead once.

WEST SEDONA LOCATION
West Sedona is where experienced visitors choose to stay. Posse Grounds Park — community pool, pickleball, skate park, walking trails — is 0.4 miles away. Whole Foods 1.2 miles. Restaurants, cafés, crystal shops, galleries, yoga studios, and spas throughout the corridor. Airport Mesa and its world-famous Sedona vortex are approximately 5 minutes from the home.

Slide Rock State Park: 15 minutes. Red Rock State Park: 20 minutes. Dead Horse Ranch: 25 minutes. Grand Canyon: 2 hours.

Hikers Haven sits in one of the most historically remarkable neighborhoods in the American Southwest — and most guests have no idea until they arrive.

From 1946 to 1959, the land now known as Sedona West was a Republic Pictures movie set. A full working Western town stood here: telegraph office, saloon, general store, stables, and at one point a railroad track with a steam locomotive and passenger cars. John Wayne rode these streets. Joan Crawford filmed here. Glenn Ford played the villain right outside your door.

The films shot on this land are classics of the Western genre. Angel and the Badman (1947), starring John Wayne, was filmed throughout this neighborhood — watch it during your stay and see how many locations you recognize. Johnny Guitar (1954) brought Joan Crawford to these red rocks in one of the most celebrated cult Westerns ever made. 3:10 to Yuma (1957) used these streets and formations throughout — and every time the film's action shifts to "Bisbee," Coffee Pot Rock is visible in the background. That's the same Coffee Pot Rock visible from Hikers Haven right now.

The street names in Sedona West reference this cinematic history — a quiet daily reminder that you're walking ground where Hollywood came to tell its biggest stories. The last remaining piece of the original Republic Pictures set, the old telegraph office, is preserved at the Sedona Historical Museum.

Today the neighborhood is quiet, residential, and genuinely beautiful — full-time Sedona residents, dark skies, and the red rocks in every direction. But the history is underneath all of it, and once you know it, it changes how the place feels.

Neighborhood highlights

Our neighborhood, Sedona West I & II, was laid out beginning in 1960 on property occupied 1946-1959 by John Wayne's "old west" Republic Pictures movie lot. From the early 1900's it was owned by local homesteader Jay Cook, used as a ranch. Before that, it was wild and free.

Our home, Hikers Haven, is in a quiet neighborhood, close to some of Sedona's best hiking and mountain bike trails.

From the living room, you have a view of Sugarloaf Mountain, Coffee Pot Rock and Capital Butte in the Thunder Mountain range. Our location is within walking distance of everything you need! Basha's Supermarket, Oak Creek Brewery, Hot Yoga, Whole Foods, Walgreens, Mexican & Indian food, Goodwill, Beall's Outlet, Harkins Movie Theater, Coffee Pot Diner, and much more.

Our neighborhood even has its own private connection to the Sugarloaf Trail system and is less than a 5-minute drive up to Airport Mesa for hiking or sightseeing as well as some tasty dining at Mesa Grille. While there enjoy the Mountain View’s or watch the planes and helicopters; maybe even catch a glimpse of a celebrity or two.
