Interaction with Guests
If I'm not around my friend Zora, who runs a nearby riding stables establishment, is always available for help and advice.
West Cork is a very beautiful part of Ireland but doesn't suffer from the coach-loads of tourists you get in Kerry and Galway. Lots of things to see and do but this is genuine rural Ireland, not a synthetic tourist destination.
Parking is available in a garage attached to the house or on a track by the side of the house. There is a good bus service to Cork. Bicycles can be hired from Nigel's Bike Shop, a five-minute walk from here.
We wash sheets and towels and clean thoroughly between visitors but it helps if – as most people do – mess is kept to a minimum.
Dogs are not allowed as there is only a small garden and the fields at the back of the house are often occupied by sheep. Farmers tend to shoot on sight any dog seen worrying their sheep.
