About this listing
Our place is located just 10 minutes by car from Siena (highway) in the enchanting medieval village of TORRI. In the top of the hill that dominates the village is located the prehistoric installation (Neolithic) of SIENA VECCHIA from which our site takes his name. Afterwards this place gave hospitality to the Etruscan people, to the Celts and to the Gauls Senoni. OUR GUESTS CAN IN ANY MOMENT GO TO THE ORGANIC VEGETABLE GARDEN LOCATED JUST A FEW STEPS FROM THE HOUSE AND PICK WHAT THE NATURE OFFERS. Every day, from the chicken and the ducks that scratch free in our field, FRESH EGGS ARE AVAILABLE.We sell organic extravirgin olive oil from our olive trees and a free taste of our oil is a welcome gift. We are part of a circuit of preservers of ancient seeds (rural civilization). ALL ANIMALS ARE WELCOME. Approximately 1 km from the houses: supermarket, pharmacy, bancomat, bus service to Siena, post office, first-aid station, ecc….
From Torri and from the windows of the apartments the look can range 'til the city of Siena and further. The building is very ancient and has been entirely restorated according to the principles of the BIO-BUILDING to offer an healthy and pleasant microclimate. All the apartments are furnished with all the comforts, TV, free internet connection, private parking and furnished garden.
APARTMENT "IL CAMINO" ( "THE FIREPLACE"): (3+3) the biggest apartment, it can give hospitality up to 6 people around the fireplace. It's possible to enter directly to the back-located garden, a very fresh place in the summer days.
The villa is in a small, peaceful village which was a nice change after our time in Rome. Every window had a stunning view of the Tuscan countryside. We loved cooking at home using the fresh vegetables from Claudio's garden. But what made our stay extraordinary was Claudio, our host. He kindly offered to pick us up from the bus station in Siena (a 30 min. drive from the villa). He also was willing to drive us to Siena the next day since the bus schedule was minimal on Sundays. He was kind and generous and went over and above his duties as a host, helping us buy our bus tickets to the next city and showing us each of the bus stops to get there. I would highly recommend staying here to anyone who is looking for a quiet, beautiful and relaxing place to stay. I hope to come back here soon!
Well where do I start,Claudio,s home is in a most beautiful little village,Claudio met us and showed us inside the apartment. On entering the door all five of us just loved it,plenty of room and just beautiful atmosphere,Claudio the perfect host recommending places to see, restaraunts and even complementary bottles of wine.Would highly recommend anyone to stay as Claudio is a great host and very proud of his area.Graeme Cheetham
We really enjoyed staying here! If you're looking for the rustic and quiet side of Tuscany, this is it. Claudio was welcoming and graciously offered us anything we needed from his lovely and sizable garden. We were able to relax and recharge in between the bustle of Rome and Florence, although we were able to easily day trip to Siena from here (it's only about 10 km away). One thing to note, the location is in a small medieval village that is very cool. But the roads and clearances are narrow. Rent a small car.
We received a very warm welcome from Claudio despite arriving 2 hours earlier than we said we would. Claudio was a great host - charming and friendly whenever we spoke to him. We had everything we needed and were quite independent in terms of what we wanted to see and do but when we did ask for anything he was very forthcoming. The tips he gave us regarding restaurants etc were spot on! The house itself was spacious enough and full of character. We easily cooked and catered for ourselves in the kitchen as there was everything you needed. We were able to enjoy the garden in the evening and walks in the town in the morning. Very comfortable but in a cute, cosy way.
Great location for heading out to Siena and other towns and attractions in the area. We only stayed 2 nights because of our tight schedule but could have stayed another 2. There is a large coop supermarket in the next town if you do want to cater for yourselves, otherwise you are not far from some delightful local restaurants (apart from one just as you come into town you do have to drive)
Highly recommended for its rustic charm, great location and lovely owner
