About This Listing
Our place is located just 10 minutes by car from Siena (highway) in the enchanting medieval village of TORRI. In the top of the hill that dominates the village is located the prehistoric installation (Neolithic) of SIENA VECCHIA from which our site takes his name. Afterwards this place gave hospitality to the Etruscan people, to the Celts and to the Gauls Senoni. OUR GUESTS CAN IN ANY MOMENT GO TO THE ORGANIC VEGETABLE GARDEN LOCATED JUST A FEW STEPS FROM THE HOUSE AND PICK WHAT THE NATURE OFFERS. Every day, from the chicken and the ducks that scratch free in our field, FRESH EGGS ARE AVAILABLE.We sell organic extravirgin olive oil from our olive trees and a free taste of our oil is a welcome gift. We are part of a circuit of preservers of ancient seeds (rural civilization). ALL ANIMALS ARE WELCOME. Approximately 1 km from the houses: supermarket, pharmacy, bancomat, bus service to Siena, post office, first-aid station, ecc….
From Torri and from the windows of the apartments the look can range 'til the city of Siena and further. The building is very ancient and has been entirely restorated according to the principles of the BIO-BUILDING to offer an healthy and pleasant microclimate. All the apartments are furnished with all the comforts, TV, free internet connection, private parking and furnished garden.
APARTMENT "IL CAMINO" ( "THE FIREPLACE"): (3+3) the biggest apartment, it can give hospitality up to 6 people around the fireplace. It's possible to enter directly to the back-located garden, a very fresh place in the summer days.
We received a very warm welcome from Claudio despite arriving 2 hours earlier than we said we would. Claudio was a great host - charming and friendly whenever we spoke to him. We had everything we needed and were quite independent in terms of what we wanted to see and do but when we did ask for anything he was very forthcoming. The tips he gave us regarding restaurants etc were spot on! The house itself was spacious enough and full of character. We easily cooked and catered for ourselves in the kitchen as there was everything you needed. We were able to enjoy the garden in the evening and walks in the town in the morning. Very comfortable but in a cute, cosy way.
Great location for heading out to Siena and other towns and attractions in the area. We only stayed 2 nights because of our tight schedule but could have stayed another 2. There is a large coop supermarket in the next town if you do want to cater for yourselves, otherwise you are not far from some delightful local restaurants (apart from one just as you come into town you do have to drive)
Highly recommended for its rustic charm, great location and lovely owner
We stayed at Claudio's apartment in April For 2 nights (5 people). The place looks exactly as shown in the pictures. It's very charming and cozy. I loved spacious kitchen with wide doors which when opened allow you to enjoy nice view while having a meal. In the background there is a barbecue which we were able to use. Overall the place is Quiet, green and simply beautiful. Also, worth adding is it's convenient location. Since its close to Siena, San Gimignano or Montalcino you can make one day trips by car. I do recommend it. last but not list, make sure you visit a restaurant in Orgia. It's name should be listed to the folder that is in the apartment - ravioli is the must have :)
The house is really charming and quite spacious. Claudio and his family were very welcoming and made us feel right at home. We needed a bath for our little boy so the family very kindly let us use the apartment next door to keep bedtime peaceful :)
This is quintessential Tuscan living. Rolling hills, terracotta villages, olive groves, fresh food from the garden and the most welcoming lovely host and his family. Location was great for our family of 6 for 6 nights, we did the Mediterranean Sea, Florence, a handfuls of villages . Well appointed home with floral linen. Great internet, awesome restaurant which we went to twice. Supermarket down the road by car. Claudio was more than kind and generous to us.
Claudio was welcoming and friendly, a perfect host. The cottage was much larger then we expected with the most beautiful view over the garden and surrounding countryside. The cottage was clean, bright, homely and very well equipped. We would highly recommend this place for a quiet and relaxing holiday and it is of course ideally located to explore Siena. Thank you.
Unfortunately due to a very silly mistake of my own I had booked the wrong dates accidentally and was therefore unable to stay. Very kindly he offered me suggestions of other places to stay nearby for the dates I required.
