Very nice and cozy apartment just near city center of Amsterdam. Besides, lots of touristic places and attractions are just around the corner. It's very easy to go on foot, by bike or tram to every place in Amsterdam. The apartment is located just near Museum Square (with Van Gogh Museum, Rijksmuseum and City Museum), Leidse Square (lots of bars and restaurants), Vondelpark, area the Pijp and the famous street market Albert Cuyp.

The apartment is fully equiped and has everything you're looking for during your stay in Amsterdam. A fully furnished apartment with private bedroom and a nice balcony. In the bedroom there is a double bed. The bathroom has a bathtub and a shower. The WC is apart from the bathroom.
In the living room there is a open kitchen with all the facilities you need (fridge, freezer, stove, oven, dishwasher, etc.). There is a docking station for iPod and/or iPhone (4&(email hidden) to come home after a busy and/or lovely day in Amsterdam. If you still want to go out and see the nice bars and restaurants in this area: just take walk for not even more than 2 minutes and you're there.

At night there are NO city sounds! Wifi will be available. Just to be clear: when you rent my apartment, it will be exclusively available for you, so it's private.

If you like to visit Amsterdam with a few couples (maximum of 8 persons), but like to have your own privacy? It's possible when you book this apartment! There are 4 apartments in the street, which are for rent on Airbnb. Distance between the apartments is not even more than 25 metres. If you give a sign, just let us know and we arrange a few more apartments in the neighbourhood.

  • Giel (email hidden)! He responded very quickly to book the room and sent me a long email with many useful tips about the area and the apartment. He even offered to come and pick me up from the bus stop! Photos are accurate, and the neighborhood is nice and quiet and with a great location near to museums, shops, bars, restaurants, and tram stop. Very comfy bed, front and rear balconies let in a nice breeze, kitchen with all you could need. Would definitely recommend Giel's flat!

  • Giel's communication was spot on right from the off. Very relaxed, welcoming and informative, providing us with loads of useful information and tips including instructions re bus from airport etc.
He met us at Museumplein as arranged and walked us to his apartment approx five mins away.
Apartment was clean and bright and situated in a quiet street. Some good restaurants very close by. Ten mins walk to Liedsplein and then another fifteen mins to Dam Square. We didn't get on one tram this visit.
It's out first experience with AirB&B and it is strange to realise that you are in someone else's home with their belongings. It's just different to the impersonal experience of a hotel or "normal" b&b. However, the place was very clean, Giel
was kind enough to have drinks and some other essentials in the fridge, he talked us through everything and then respected out privacy and assured us he was at the end of the phone.

On Sunday morning as I sat on the small balcony overlooking the inward facing view I thought wouldn't it be nice if I was overlooking a canal? Then I heard a young soprano singing and realised it was coming from the church, also in full view from the balcony, and I just sat there watching the ginger cat sunning himself on the wall below and listened to the angelic voice for ten minutes. Better than any canal view by far. Real Amsterdam.

  • Great central location and an overall good apartment. There were tons of great restaurants and easy access to the tram stop nearby. We loved having coffee in the morning on the terrace, and Giel was very thoughtful in leaving us a bottle of wine upon our arrival at the apartment. He is very easy to reach if you need any assistance.

  • We stayed at Giel's apartment for 3 nights and it was a perfect choice for us. The apartment is lovely and really comfortable - great place to come back to after exploring this amazing city each day (and thankfully really warm and cosy after being rained on for the majority of the weekend. Would definitely recommend the apartment and neighbourhood to anyone who wants to be close to the centre but it also feels really laid back and quiet. De Pijp was a stones throw away and packed full of bars and restaurants (would recommend Omelegg for the best hangover breakfast ever). The apartment is on a leafy and quiet road and we felt safe and secure walking around the neighbourhood at all times.
Giel (email hidden), he was there to meet us from the tram stop when we arrived and was contactable throughout although the apartment was great and we didn't need to get in touch about anything. He even gave us some tips and left (email hidden) which was much better than the one we had.
We are going to come back soon hopefully when the sun is shining and I'm sure I will be back in touch with Giel to (email hidden) again.

  • I can really recommend Giels apartment. Giel was a very friendly host. He picked us up at the tram station, guided us to his place and explained everything we needed to know. In case of any question we could have called him up or send an sms. The apartment is tidy, nicely decorated and it is located in a quiet area close to the city. We felt very (email hidden).

  • The stay in the apartment of Giel was wonderful.
The apartment ist very central and yet in an area, where it is not noisy but rather calm and quiet. The information of Giel about the possibilities of the stay, about amsterdam and about the surroundings of the apartment ist not far away from perfect. We had a very pleasant stay. Thank you Giel for letting us stay in your place.

  • Giel was an extremely helpful and friendly host. He provided us with a lot of information ahead of our stay and even gave us a lovely bottle of white wine to apologise for not being there to welcome us to Amsterdam.

The flat itself is situated in the gorgeous Museum District (or Oud Zuid), barely 5 mins from the Van Gogh and other museums. Plus the 197 express service from Schipol Airport stopped close to the flat as well.

The flat is as described on the profile and is spacious and airy. A word of warning though: it's up two flights of very narrow stairs! So be warned if you have heavy bags to carry. We even had a cosy evening in and enjoyed a film on the on demand service provided at the flat.

    Thank you Giel!

  • Giel's apartment was a wonderful base for our trip to Amsterdam! I love the location on a quiet street yet really close to Rijks, Stedelijk, and Van Gogh museums. It's also just a few blocks from the trendy De Pjip neighborhood.

The apartment itself is nicely furnished and has all the amenities you'd need. We made breakfast in the mornings and enjoyed the sunny dining area. There's even a washer to do laundry (though you have to hang your clothes to dry).

Giel was a friendly and knowledgeable host. He gave us lots of tips on our first day and we enjoyed his recommendations for dining. Overall, a great experience!

  • Just came back from a fantastic stay at Giel's place. The apartment looked every bit as good as the photos, and picking/up returning the keys was really easy. The location of the apartment is great. Its easy to walk in to the centre, and you pass a lot of nice bars and restaurants that are a bit more relaxed than the ones in the more touristy areas of town.

Giel also provided us with a lot of useful local information, like good places to rent bikes, and local restaurants. All said, a great choice for a couple in Amsterdam.

Share your apartment while you could rent one anothers... A perfect and easy way to host tourists, business people or others in an apartment. Of course the other way is interesting as well and see a lot of other places where Airbnb is active. Meeting some interesting people from abroad is something which will come together. I'm Giel and living in Amsterdam for more than 6 years now. Working here and enjoying the good life in this beautiful city. There are a lot of moments I'm not at home, because I'm travelling around or something. So enough moments my apartment is available for rent. If you're interested and would like to have some more information, just send me a message and I'll reply as soon as possible. Thanks in advance!
