Bedroom in home with small family

House - Private room · Maumee Ct, Indianapolis, IN 46235, United States

Bedroom with double bed in home with small family, cat, and dog on eastside of Indianapolis, 10 miles from downtown.

The Space

One bedroom for rent in home with couple with 2 children (girls) that all speak English and Spanish. Access to entire home is included (full kitchen, large screen TV with DVD/Blu Ray/Wii collection, including a growing Bollywood film stash). You would have your own bathroom (shower and bathtub) down the hall, and linens are provided. We also have a twin size air mattress that would fit in the room so that we could accommodate 3 people.

You are welcome to join in family (vegetarian) meals. We have 2 adult bikes that you may use during your stay. We have a computer with Internet access and we have wireless access.

We have a feisty indoor-outdoor cat, so beware, as well as a lovable French Bulldog/Boston Terrier mix. Children and pets are more than welcome here!

Home is about 15 minute walk to public bus stop and 10 miles from downtown Indianapolis. Cheap, fun option for people wanting to go to the myriad number of sporting events in the city (US Swimming Nationals, Pacers NBA games, Colts NFL games, Indy 500 or other car racing events, AAA team Indianapolis Indians, and others). Indianapolis has the biggest children's museum in the world, the Children's Museum of Indianapolis.

Our house was featured on WTHR Channel 13 in April 2013 as part of segment on "shared economy" and airbnb's role in that. Watch it at (website hidden)(phone number hidden)/hoosiers-finding-good-deals-better-living-through-share-economy.

Guest Access

Wifi, private bathroom, street parking, PLAY OUR PIANO please!, TV, Wii, fridge (help yourself!) and stove

The Neighborhood

We live on a cul-de-sac so traffic is limited. If you have a car you can easily and safely park on the street in front of the house or in the very-inclined driveway.

Getting around

You'll have to have a vehicle here; the walk to the bus stop is about 15-20 minutes and it takes about an hour to get downtown from our house on public transportation.

  • Alicia and her family were wonderful to stay with! She's very fun to talk to and knew good areas for us to hang around at night. I would definitely recommend staying a night at her home!

  • We had a wonderful stay with Alicia and her family. I was in town for a convention, and my mother and 13-month old son were with me. Alicia and her beautiful daughters were welcoming and lovely to talk with. The girls enjoyed playing with my son and helped him feel at home. The rooms were clean and well-kept. It was an easy 20-min drive to the convention center, so it's a great location if you're in town for business.
This was my first time using airbnb and it set the tone for future great experiences. Thanks, Alicia, L, and M.

  • We had a rushed stay because we had to leave super early in the morning, but Alicia has a wonderful home and comfortable accommodations. Communication was fast and easy, and had no trouble finding the house. We would absolutely stay again given the chance.

Thanks for giving us a place to rest our heads on the long drive back home!

  • We stayed at Alicia's house for the MSU v OSU football game. She was very welcoming and really made us feel comfortable right away! The cab ride downtown as only 20 bucks, so it's definitely a convenient place to stay as well.

  • This was a great overnight stay, we came very late due to snow on the road and Alicia made sure we'd find a warm, comfy home.

    Everything great, thanks so much.

  • Beautiful family, kind hosts.

    September 2013
  • My three friends and I stayed at Alicia's house for only a night so we weren't able to interact with Alicia a lot. However, she was very nice and her house was very cozy, cute, and clean!

  • We had a wonderful stay with Alicia and her family while visiting Indy! In addition to providing a comfortable environment, she was able to recommend some parks for us to visit, and provided helpful information. Her children were so friendly and generous, and their home was quite comfortable for our small family of three.

  • I was very grateful to Alicia and family for taking me in on very short notice. They were very hospitable and were nice to talk to in our brief time together. Everything I could need or want was taken care of and it felt like I was spending the night at a relative's home!
