This is the ideal accommodation for a solo traveller in Rome; safe and secure, close to public transport and within walking distance of many of Rome's stunning attractions. Fantastic value for money and I would absolutely recommend. There were a few issues preventing me from giving a five star review. The bathroom (specifically the toilet) wasn't as clean. I luckily found cleaning products under the sink to clean the toilet with myself as it really didn't feel comfortable using it in the state it was in when I arrived. There was also some hairs in the shower. In the description there are mentions of a washing machine and bathtub (plus a picture of a bathtub) but the apartment had neither of those so that was a little disappointing (no idea where the picture of the bath came from??) I may not have selected this apartment had the description been accurate. I was staying for a week though so this probably won't bother those with a shorter stay. There seemed to be no hot water in the kitchen which meant I couldn't wash up the cutlery I used. I was also concerned whether the cutlery I did use was cleaned properly prior to my stay if there is never hot water. Check in was simple and I didn't really need to have any contact with the host after that. Overall, great apartment but my stay could have been improved with a more accurate description/pictures and a higher level of cleanliness. Thanks for having me!

I recommend the apartment. The location is convenient: Ottaviano metro station is only 3-4 minutes walk away. There're a few buses stops not far from the apartment (such as 492, 81) which can get you home after a long day in Rome too. You can walk to central touristy areas of Rome in 20-30 minutes, to Vatican in about 10 minutes. The flat has lots of character thanks to many books and wooden furniture. The mezzanine level has generous clothing storage space with a few wardrobes. I loved the awesome metal staircase to the mezzanine, although I think it may be challenging for heavier/older folks to get up/down because it's rather narrow and very steep. The bathroom is spacious and in a good shape. The ceiling is very high (I am 186cm high and could almost fully stand up on the mezzanine level) so the whole place feels pretty spacious. Tall windows lead to a quiet inner yard. The kitchen is basic and there's not much dining space, but it's more than enough to get a breakfast or an evening tea going, plus there's a fridge. The bed is comfortable and I slept like a baby on those pillows. The place gets quiet after 11PM.

Monica's home is so cute and cozy! It is located very close to the Vatican and other public transit, so it was easy to get around Rome. Her home was fully equipped, and although my stay was short, I would definitely stay again if I ever find myself in Rome again.

The studio apartment is really cute and perfect for someone who is independent and traveling alone. The building is beautiful and the neighborhood is a good mix of locals and tourists. You get to feel like a real Roman. Lots of privacy and very quiet. I was working during my stay so it was perfect place to unwind. I never met Monica but we communicated over messages and her neighbor, lovely older gentleman, gave me the keys. The middle gate at the entrance was a bit tricky for me; I didn't realize that it opens via a light switch to the left when exiting. The antique apartment key was really cool but took a little practice for me as well.

Monica's apartment was perfect for us. You can't beat it for price and location. Right round the corner from a metro station, this apartment is perfect for travellers looking to explore Rome, whilst also allowing you to feel out of the hustle and bustle of the city. Take advantage of being around the corner of the Vatican and go visit at different times of day, it really is magnificent. There are plenty of coffee shops and restaurants in the local area to stop of at when you're hungry but don't want too travel far from home. And it's a lovely walk into town either directly from the Vatican square or over the Ponte Sant'Angelo :) Monica wasn't there when we were, but her neighbours, who live next door, were. And they were gracious and helpful hosts. They even replaced the hairdryer straight away when it wasn't working. We're already planning a return visit, and would definitely return to Monica's apartment for the perfect trip!
