This peaceful, comfy bedroom is in our home on a grassy acre of tall cedar trees. It feels rural. The air is crisp and clean. But you are only 10 minutes away from downtown Bellevue, Redmond, or Microsoft and 20 minutes to Seattle for all the activities and excitement you may want. Enjoy a complimentary fresh continental breakfast at home to start your day.
Host Dean was born and raised in Bellevue and would be delighted to help you find your way around. Restaurants, groceries, car rentals and a yoga studio are just down the hill. Horse riders wander in the 482 acre Bridle Trails State Park just across the street. We also have an art studio and workshop on the property where we have fun at pottery and welding. Care to have a lesson? Just ask semi-retired teacher Dean! The kitchen is spacious, stocked with complimentary fruits, yogurts, cereal, eggs, pastries, aloha goodies, homemade sorbets and belgium waffles. Keurig coffees and teas are always available. Your private bathroom has everything you may need if you get separated from your luggage including hair dryer, flat iron, spa robes and plenty of fresh linens. The queen bed is heavenly, covered with a down comforter and quilt. The wood burning fireplace glows all winter. There's free parking, Wi-Fi and cable TV in your room or wide screen in the living room. Out on the deck enjoy the BBQ and fire pit. You can be as private or social as you prefer.
We are flexible with no minimum stay so please send us a note inquiring about availability so we can coordinate. No smoking or drugs. Pets are on a case by case basis.

Dear Susan & Dean,
I am so sorry for Reviewing so related.
When I arrived at their home, you can feel a very different, they would waiting for welcome your arriving. And you can see a Lei hung at the front of the gate. No limit time about your check in and check out.
They gave my girlfriend and me a very amazing and wonderful trip. I feel that was my house, my home. The very comfortable room and bed will give you a good rest.
When you check in, you can feel they are very sweet and nice, prepared some Chinese snakes and some tea for me, they could give you some advices for your planning. And even the yummy breakfast.
The most amazing and fantasy thing is when you came into the house, you seem to enter a very grateful art museum, the house decorated by a lots of masterworks made by Dean who is a artist teacher. I like one thing which like a cane in the Lord of the Ring near one tree at the back yard.
I promise if I have another plan to go to Bellevue, I will live in my room again and ride the horse with my wife
Many many thanks for your treating cordially.
Susan and Dean provided me the most comfortable and consummate experience one can imagine for a first-time AirBnB'er. Their place is beautiful and artistic, and their experience with many countries and cultures is a great bonus. They are terrific hosts - warm, helpful and considerate, and leave you lacking for nothing; if I could, I'd stay here every time I'm in the Seattle area
We stayed with Dean and Susan for 5 nights while visiting our relatives in the Seattle area. It was the perfect place for us to stay as it was only about 3 miles from where our relatives lived. Dean and Susan were the perfect hosts, helping us in any way we needed and giving us good advice on getting from their house to our destinations. We like to walk and there are many wonderful walking trails in the area that lead into the business district of Bellevue.
Each morning we would have coffee in their kitchen provided by their wonderful Keurig machine that allowed us to get up as early as we wished and have coffee without disturbing anyone else. Then after getting presentable in their wonderful, sparkling clean modern bathroom provided, Dean would prepare waffles or oatmeal or we would have delicious granola and yogurt and then start our day of visiting and touring the area. Dean and Susan were both very friendly and welcoming and we enjoyed getting to know them very much. We felt like we had made new friends when our stay with them came to a close.
I would highly recommend the Aloha Room and Dean and Susan as hosts. We want to return when we are back in the area again.
This was our second visit to the Aloha Retreat. It will not be our last. Susan and Dean are simply the finest hosts you will ever meet. Their home is warm, inviting and so very artistic. We feel so lucky to have met Susan and Dean - just knowing that we have a second "home" in Washington makes us feel wonderful.
Sophie and I had a wonderful experience at Susan and Deans' home. I felt instantly at home and welcome. Our room was very warm and private and I loved working in the studio.
Sophie liked the warm fireplace and having her own entrance with access to the beautiful yard surrounded my trees and nature. She especially liked all the attention she got from her new friends.
We both highly recommend Susan and Dean's retreat!
"Perfect" is the best single word to describe our experience with Susan and Dean. They are perfect hosts: warm, friendly, welcoming and very thoughtful. We particularly enjoyed our morning chats with them along with the delicious coffee cake and waffles. They had even bought our favorite tea for us! The room was perfect as well: beautiful, comfortable, full of amenities (TV, movies, snacks, information, etc) along with a lovely bathroom just next door. Their house is full of art from Dean's teaching and art making along with fun Hawaiian touches from Susan's love of the islands, and the setting is park-like and very quiet. We can't imagine a better experience and we really felt fortunate for the chance to spend time with Susan and Dean in their home. Thanks for your generosity, warmth and a very memorable stay!
Dean and Susan have been incredibly wonderful hosts. They are friendly and generous and helpful, and their waffles and breakfast treats are fabulous. They know the area well, and have told us about some really neat local spots we loved and never would have seen otherwise. They also build cozy nice fires in the fireplace on chilly nights, which is sooo luxurious, and even provided a massaging foot tub to soak my feet at the end of a long day. We were super-thrilled, too, when Dean showed us how to make bowls and cups on their pottery wheel! What a treat! The common areas are beautiful and the grounds are extraordinary, with graceful landscaping and Dean's really cool sculptures throughout. Susan creates splendid flower arrangements for the guest area and delicious fruit-ice treats and the entire space is just quiet and pretty and scrupulously clean. We've been so pleased during our stay here! The bedroom is bright and beautifully arranged and the bed is extremely comfortable. Both the bedroom and bathroom are spacious with lots of storage space, and everything is spotless and thoughtfully appointed. I'm just incredibly glad we came here, and would highly recommend it to anyone else trying to decide where to stay in the Seattle area. You could look at every single other option and never find a better place. Susan and Dean have treated us like more than guests - they've treated us like family. They are fun and kind and as happy to hang out and visit as they are to let us do our own thing. The B&B is centrally located and convenient to everything, but tucked away in a very quiet location, close to a beautiful park area and surrounded with trees. This place is amazing. Definitely stay here. We love it, and feel very fortunate to have lucked out and selected the best Bed and Breakfast in Seattle - it would have been a bargain at twice the price. Thank you, Dean and Susan, for helping our move to Seattle feel like a splendid vacation. Your thoughtfulness and caring shines through in every detail of your space and has made our experience here really special.
Rand and I had a fantastic stay with Dean and Susan. Their home is very beautiful and they made us feel right at home. The location is set at the end of a long drive way away from the street and it's associated noise, in a "park like" setting. The kitchen was a joy to cook in, with the island and extra space. The bed was very comfortable with the type of pillows we requested. We slept with the windows open and enjoyed the sounds of the wildlife waking us in the morning. Although we are light breakfast eaters, Susan and Dean were ready to prepare anything we wanted.
All adjectives fall short of the experience of this property (so, for the " Teacher", we'll save you the trouble of having to wade through them). The Aloha Retreat with Artist Studio is a great pick and you won't be disappointed. A great value!
The colorful vintage bedding caught my eyes initially and I immediately booked the room. The day of arrival, I went to Orcas Island and checked in at almost 12 am. Susan and Dean waited for me the whole time even though it's not their regular schedule. Dean is local guru about everything and everywhere. No matter what you ask, Dean can point you to the right direction. Susan is such a lovely & passionate person and I always enjoyed talking to her. I will stay with them again when I go back to Seattle! Thank you for everything!
I have a wonderful two day in This home, and Susan and Deny were very friendly and I had great time staying at their home. I hope to meet with them soon...
