The Space

We're back! This peaceful, comfy bedroom is in our home on a grassy acre of tall cedar trees. It feels rural. The air is crisp and clean. But you are only 10 minutes away from downtown Bellevue, Redmond, or Microsoft and 20 minutes to Seattle for all the activities and excitement you may want. Enjoy a complimentary fresh continental breakfast at home to start your day.
Host Dean was born and raised in Bellevue and would be delighted to help you find your way around. Restaurants, groceries, car rentals and a yoga studio are just down the hill. Horse riders wander in the 482 acre Bridle Trails State Park just across the street. We also have an art studio and workshop on the property where we have fun at pottery and welding. Care to have a lesson? Just ask retired teacher Dean! The kitchen is spacious, stocked with complimentary fruits, yogurts, cereal, eggs, pastries, aloha goodies, homemade sorbets and belgium waffles. Keurig coffees and teas are always available. Your private bathroom has everything you may need if you get separated from your luggage including hair dryer, flat iron, spa robes and plenty of fresh linens. The queen bed is heavenly, covered with a down comforter and quilt. There is a second "Palm Room" bedroom next to the bath that will comfortably accommodate a third guest. The wood burning fireplace glows all winter. There's free parking, Wi-Fi and cable TV in your room or wide screen in the living room. Out on the deck enjoy the BBQ and umbrella covered seating. You can be as private or social as you prefer.
We are flexible with no minimum stay so please send us a note inquiring about availability so we can coordinate. No smoking or drugs. Pets are on a case by case basis. Airbnb will now add WA occupancy tax at the time of inquiry.

Susan & Dean

Susan & Dean

Bellevue, Washington, United States · Member since April 2012

We are a semi-retired couple who tend to be more travelers than tourists. We're low maintenance travelers, who feel it's the journey, who we meet and the new things we learn that are important for us.
We enjoy making new friends, learning and nature. We've traveled four continents but much more to go! Hosting on airbnb is like bringing the world to us.

Easy going Dean has been involved in art, working as a production potter, public and private school teaching and is now a sculptor. He enjoys volunteering for causes such as promoting student films, creating open space and recreational areas for the public or using his construction and building skills to rebuild homes destroyed by Katrina. He is also known for making delicious sorbet.

Susan was raised in Boston, primarily from Hawaii. Sashimi is her favorite food. She has an extensive background in gardening, travel, hospitality and retail. In her semi retirement, she's working on becoming a certified floral designer and home builder.
