Ahlan wa sahlan! - welcome to my family home in the Bedouin village of Petra. We are a five minute drive from the Visitor Centre of Petra. We have a comfortable and clean family home with a room suitable for a family with one double bed and one single bed.

We offer tours of Petra, giving guests an exclusive way to see the lesser known sites of Petra. I have provided more detail in the "guest interaction" section below.

The space
We have 2 bedrooms, one sleeping 3 people and another one with a double room and another bed for children. The bathroom is shared with hot shower and both western and Turkish toilet.
There is a living area with a television and a kitchen.
There is a small balcony for when the weather is warmer.

Guests will have access to the sitting room, bathroom, bedrooms, kitchen and balcony.

During your stay
This is a family home, so we will have as much interaction with the guests as they wish. We respect privacy and are also eager to share cultures.

I am a tour guide in Petra and I know all of the best places to go, whether you are here for one day or many days. I can offer the following unforgettable experiences:

- Access through the rear entrance to Petra to see the great Monastery in a 4x4.

- Spend a night in the mountains in little petra/ Wadi Araba under the stars.

- We can cook for you local food for a genuine bedouin experience (price Jod10 per person).

- Tours on donkeys or camels around Petra.

- Other amazing Jordanian treats and some great local advice.

Other things to note
Both myself and my wife speak English. We have full knowledge of the Petra region so we can help with any information you require and also give you some good tips of what to see while you are here.
We can cook for you dinner (traditional local food), just let us know a little bit before if you need it. We also propose breakfast in the morning.

Umm Sayhoun is the Bedouin village attached to Petra. It has spectacular views over the site and also of the mountains and to Aaron's tomb. The village is small and quite traditional and belongs to the Bedouin of Petra who formerly lived inside the caves of Petra.
