The apartment is a large sunny studio, fully furnished and separate from the main house. Newly renovated, the apartment comprises a full kitchen and bath, a dishwasher, a clothes washer and dryer, wood floors, and new windows. Sleeping accommodations include a queen size bed, a pullout sofa, and a twin bed in the “nook.” It is possible to sleep three adults or a family with two adults and up to three children. Children under 12 stay for free. Direct TV, high speed internet, and air conditioning are among the many amenities provided. A large garden produces vegetables that are available for our guests when in season.
Activities in the area include hiking on local trails, Mt. Riga or the Appalachian Trail, biking, swimming and boating at local Lake Wononscopomuc. For racetrack fans, Lime Rock Park is within walking distance. Music lovers can attend concerts at Tanglewood, a forty-five minute drive, or Music Mountain, just minutes away in nearby Falls Village. Summer theatre productions run at the Tri Arts Theater in nearby Sharon. The area abounds with restaurants, art galleries, bookstores, and small shops. Three ski areas and championship ski jumps in February liven the area in winter. Nearby private schools include Indian Mountain School, the Hotchkiss School, and Salisbury School. Long term rentals are available for the academic year, September through mid-June.
We are in a rural area, so a car is necessary.
No smoking in the apartment. Pets ( dogs only) by special request. Please contact us. We would hope that guests conserve energy and turn down the air conditioning or heat when they are not in the apartment.
I've stayed here a few times and feel right at home! Its always clean, really comfortable bed and having laundry in the studio is really handy. Such a nice studio apartment, wish I could move in!
Peter was there to great us when we arrived - which was great. He was very helpful and welcoming!
What a gem! This charming studio located in the beautiful countryside of northwestern Connecticut is the perfect place to relax and enjoy an array of local cultural events. Peter greeted us during a downpour with a big umbrella and escorted us to the bright and pristine studio apartment in their lovely barn. Priscilla and Peter even left us a basket with home made muffins and apples! The space is very well thought out and tastefully decorated. My daughter and I were very comfortable and wished we could have stayed longer. There's nothing like waking up to a view of rolling green hills and seeing a blanket of bright stars at night. It was truly memorable. Beautiful details, gorgeous location, gracious hosts and fabulous studio! We would love to come back again soon. Thank you Peter and Priscilla!
Priscilla and Peter's studio and surroundings are magical. This was the perfect retreat for my husband and me, and we could not have been happier The couple is gracious and thoughtful, and--while they clearly respect guests' privacy--they are available for a friendly chat or to provide guidance if guests want. Priscilla's gardens are amazing--not only is the studio set in an idyllic spot, her vegetable and flower beds entertain dozens of birds and butterflies, which made us smile all weekend. We cannot recommend this studio highly enough, and hope to return sooner than later. Lynn and Paul
This property is an absolute delight and Peter and Priscilla are wonderful hosts. The studio is well laid out, comfortable and very welcoming. It's clear that Peter and Priscilla put a lot of thought into what people would need and where they would look to find it. Utensils, dishes, glasses, pens, the coffee maker - everything is either out in front of you or located within seconds. With a full kitchen and bath and thoughtful touches like books and magazines, this place really feels like a home away from home. The "welcome" basket of muffins, apples and orange juice was greatly appreciated (and thoroughly enjoyed!) This is just one example of how Peter and Priscilla make you feel like a welcome guest. I highly recommend this property. You won't be disappointed by the accomodations or the hosts. We will definitely be back. And if you are attending anything at Lime Rock Park, they really are right across the street.
Lovely space in a great location and Peter and Priscilla could not have been friendly. I will return and highly recommend. Thanks again!
