The space
Nestled in woods, central to local attractions, this cozy cottage has all the modern amenities you need with stylish, vintage vibes.

We are a certified wildlife habitat, which means our property looks a little wild, but it is very intentional to support wildlife and pollinators. We have woodlands, a meadow, native plants and organic gardens around the house.

Inside the cottage you will find a large open shared kitchen, a work station, a cool dark living room and lots of plants. Our home is full of books, herbs, spices, coffee, tea, essential oils and more, for a truly restorative retreat.

Each room has A/C, heating units, fan, lights, extra blankets, shelves.

No animals or indoor smoking (allergies). Large porch for outdoor enjoyment!

Guest access
You are welcome in all parts of our home: the porch, kitchen, living room and bathroom are all shared.

There are 2 other guest rooms. Each room has a unique key. Please only enter your room, which is described in your listing.

Then there's the master bedroom and bathroom upstairs, which is our private area, we ask you not to enter or use. We live here and we love kind guests!

Our home is located between two roads: Campground Rd (our address) and Lynes Rd (where our mailbox is).

Our driveway runs between the two roads, and serves as the driveway for the other 2 houses (nice neighbors) located behind us. Half of it is paved, half of it is gravel. You are welcome to use either half, based on what you prefer.

Please keep the center of the driveway clear for throughway.

Everyone shares this right of way, but you can park in several spots marked "guest parking" in front of our yellow house, under the great big oak trees!

During your stay
We will be able to help you throughout your stay. We will either be home, or available by text message when we are away.

We have local farmers and friends who produce organic veggies, free range eggs and raw A2 milk. We’d love to connect you, so let us know if you need grocery!

Our place is ideal for long term stays. We enjoy having house mates who are working daily like we are, and become friends. We offer a 10% discount for a week and a 25% discount for 30+ days. Contact us to ask about it, but first book a few nights via Airbnb to make sure it's a good fit!

Other things to note
This room is located upstairs, across the stairwell from our master bedroom. We live here, and we use the bathroom upstairs, which is private to us.

The shared bathroom, with laundry and shower, is downstairs.

UPDATE: There is no longer a door inside this room to the other guest room! We added a new doorway to that room and blocked it off with shelving!

Only guests use this bathroom, and we use it for laundry and cleaning mid-day after guests are gone.

Neighborhood highlights

There are 3 other homes in our tiny “neighborhood” which is just a small driveway and clearing between the woods and a cornfield.

One of our neighbors likes to enjoy social interaction on Saturday nights, and they are very respectful. The rest of the week, the area is very quiet.

There’s also an old private campground called Mount Olivet across the road. They have an open camp meeting every summer. Please do not disturb them otherwise.

We love living here and take walks up the gravel road on the quieter street called Lynes Rd. It’s a quaint, quiet and lovely area for a relaxing getaway!

Where I went to school: Homeschool then lo

What makes my home unique: Safe for highly sensitive types
For guests, I always: Have coffee, tea, herbs and spices.
I love to explore places near and far... staying in a home or local spot is far better than a hotel, because I like to see what life is really like for the locals! I enjoy hiking, beaches, waterfalls, cooking, local farmers markets and meeting interesting people. I run my own business as an ecological designer and wildlife habitat steward, so getting away is hard but when it happens I really try to rest and relax!
