  • We haven't met Amad in person, only his niece but he made sure to call us if everything is okay.
The apartment is at the fourth floor (and the elevator requires a special key so we couldn't use it). It is really big so our bathroom was quite far. The cloudy weather made the whole place seemed to be very scary (especially at night). Another problem were sheets. We had only one thick sheet and one thin sheet so my friend who was having the thin one was freezing at night.
The apartment's location is great though, just two tram stops from Alexanderplatz. Also I love their cat, it's super nice.
All in all, it was doable but I would expect more for such price.

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Amads place. Amad is a very friendly and kind host, the location is good for exploring Berlin and has definitely a magic feel to it.

  • Amad is a great host: warm, attentive, and discreet, with a beautiful, well-kept and absolutely singular home. His cat is well-behaved too. He welcomed me energetically though it was after 10 at night when I arrived, and, having made me a glass of tea and showed me the bathroom (exclusively for guests' use), retired to his own part of the house. I only stayed one night, but I hope to get the chance to visit again.

The bed was firm and comfortable, with a warm duvet. The room was quiet and spotless, with gentle morning light through the window.

Having previously lived in the neighborhood for a year, I can attest that the location is perfect for visitors: one-minute walk to an excellent breakfast place / temporary office (Hilde), 10min to the best supermarket in Berlin (LPG), <20min walk to the Mauerpark and Oderberger Str, frequent tram just outside the door, 3min tram ride to Alexanderplatz.

  • I really enjoyed my stay at Amad's apartment. I felt very welcome and they offered a lot of help to get me adjusted to the city.

  • Amad was very friendly, the location was fantastic, and the use of bikes was extremely convenient. I would recommend to anyone.

    October 2012
  • The apartment is funky and fun, Amad and his flatmates are very hospitable and the neighborhood is close to the heart of East Berlin (which I consider a plus). I happened to be there on a Saturday night when the neighbors decided to have a serious blow-out that lasted until 4am. I might have enjoyed that more if didn't have a flight to catch the next morning :(

  • Amad's room & apartment were lovely, would highly recommend!

    October 2012
  • Amad has an awesome loft in a great area. It's insanely easy to get anywhere in the city from his place. He is a great host and the bikes he provides are a sweet part of the deal.

  • My boyfriend and I stayed with Amad for one night, and it was out first airbnb experience. Amad is a very nice host, and his flat is big and airy with lots of cool/cute features. We'llbe happy to recommend him and the room to anyone who's in the search for a private room in a central location.

    September 2012
  • Although we were in Berlin for only 1 night, we had great time, also thank to Amad, who's an extremely nice and open person! His apartment is extraordinary, and perfectly located- I highly recommend this choice!:)
