Beside the University Campus DkIT on the edge of Dundalk town in southern Ireland but close to the border with Northern ireland. Usually I rent the house to staff in the adjoining University which means it is available during the summer months May to September when the University is on holidays.
Only about one 60 minutes travel on the regular Dublin Airport bus service to Dundalk (operates 24 hours). The accommodation is in Dundalk, mid way between both Dublin and Belfast with great bus and mainline rail connections to explore both cities. The campus bus stop is only five minutes walk from the house and offers regular express bus services to Dublin City centre (about 60 minutes). A €5 taxi ride will take you to the local mainline Belfast / Dublin rail station and access to the national rail network.
The house is modern with four bedrooms (2 doubles plus two singles), three bathrooms (1 en-suite), generous kitchen / dining / living room areas and has a nice rear garden .This is a quiet attractive area May to Sept during the University holiday period.
There are over 100 interesting Irish pubs and restuarants in the the surrounding town of Dundalk (population 35,000) and none further than a €5 taxi ride. There is a shopping centre, Gym and swimming pool nearby.
I (your host Seamus) live close by and would be delighted to introduce you to the nearby campus facilities and other local points of interest. In addition to Belfast and Dublin sights I could also advise you on local visits to the famous stone age burial mound of Newgrange, walks in the the beautiful Mourne or Cooley Mountains. the medieval village of Carlingford and much, much more.
