  • That was so great! The location is perfect, so close to the subway and trains, neighboorhood is just amazing with cute and good restaurants, and food to take out too. The apartment is super clean, and everything is well organized. Sheila send us an e-mail with a lot of informations to help us having a great time. It was quiet and sometimes, we forgot that the city that never sleeps is so close (15minutes max). That was our first time in NYC, but not the last for sure, thanks to Sheila!

  • SHEILA SAVED OUR HOLIDAY! My wife and I needed a last minute place to stay during our Christmas visit to Brooklyn. After a frantic Airbnb search and barrage of email requests (from me), Sheila responded within an hour and was able to accommodate us next morning!

Sheila's apartment is exactly what we needed...cozy, clean, warm and located just blocks from shops, restaurants, bars & transportation. Perfect for a young couple like us. The photos of the apartment and very accurate, although some of the minor furniture accessories have since been upgraded.

Sheila's communication was outstanding, and provided us with a level of comfort that we were working with a responsible and thoughtful host. Once our reservation was confirmed, we received a welcoming email with all of the details we needed to make our stay homey, and our check-in/ check-out process seamless. In addition, Sheila provided an extensive list of restaurant/ bar recommendations and some information about the neighborhood to get us oriented.

Overall, this is a FIVE STAR apartment and a FIVE STAR host! Thank you Sheila and the Airbnb Team!!

  • This was my first time trying airbnb & I had an awesome experience! Sheila is a fabulous host! She sent very detailed check-in instructions along with loads of tips and places to check out in the neighborhood! She was available for quick questions about the neighborhood and most helpful.

The apartment was spotlessly clean and so chic - well decorated and very comfortable. I have lived in many NYC apartments - they are usually unbearably hot in winter- hers was perfect!

Great neighborhood - Barneys - my mecca happened to be around the corner as well as Trader Joes! Lots of great little boutiques and centrally located in Brooklyn. Close to everything!

    I highly recommend!

  • We had a great experience overall staying at Sheila's place. Her place is in a great neighborhood in Brooklyn with a ton of cool restaurants, bars, and coffee shops right around the corner. Very easy access to subways to get to Manhattan, and an easy walk to the Brooklyn Bridge. The place is cozy and comfortable, and Sheila is a great host who is very responsive, she was kind enough to meet us in the morning when we got in off of a red eye, and let us drop off our bags, so we could go walk around and get some brunch without lugging our bags around everywhere.

  • communication w/ Sheila was easy. Instructions were good and there was no problem with access to the apt or what to do about various questions (ie garbage, getting in or out, etc) once we were there.

  • Sheila's apartment was great. It's located in a great neighborhood in Brooklyn, with tons of restaurants and shopping, close to the metro, and only a couple short stops into Manhattan. Our favorite restaurants from this trip were Bien Cuit (coffee, pastries), Sottocasa (pizza) and Pok Pok (thai), all within easy walking distance.

The location made it easy to walk the Brooklyn Bridge, spend the day in Manhattan, or get brunch in Williamsburg.

Sheila was a great place, her apartment was clean, she left great instructions and even some snacks and a bottle of wine for us to enjoy! We'll be staying at Sheila's place again next time we're in NYC.

  • The apartment was great, it was exactly as described. It was clean and had everything we needed. It was in a safe neighborhood, the metro stations were very close. Sheila was a great host.

    September 2013
  • The apartment is cute, the mattress was super comfortable and the down pillows/bedspread were fabulous. The information Sheila provided after we booked had answers to all except one of my questions, but she replied to it promptly. There were definitely plenty of places to eat and shop in the area. We had delicious burgers at Bareburger, awesome croissants & yogurt for breakfast at Rucola's, drinks at Cody's American Bar & Grill and shopped for a few essentials at Trader Joe's, CVS and a corner market with fresh produce (can't remember the name). All are 2 to 5 blocks away. We found more nice restaurants, etc. a few blocks further north on Montague St. The block the building is on and the building itself are not kept as clean and tidy as the rest of the neighborhood, but if you can overlook that, you will be pleased staying at Sheila's place. However, I agree with some of the other reviews regarding the hot water pipe that needs to be covered, you have to remember to keep your knees away from it while on the jon. The other issue we encountered was that although the Ameneties tab on the listing states smoking is not allowed, there was a very strong odor of cigarette smoke that is strangely confined to the living room. I would not recommend this apartment to those that suffer from migraines triggered by cigarette smoke. Or you can do what I did; take over the counter migraine medication every day during your stay. Then again, we also returned with that odor on our clothes & luggage. I would be very happy to stay at Sheila’s again if this issue is dealt with properly (not by masking with room sprays or candles).

  • This is an awesome apartment in a great location if you want to relax, whilst still being a 15 minute subway ride to the heart of Manhattan. Take your pick from three close subway stations or just enjoy walking around Brooklyn.

Sheila provides an amazing guide to the area and couldn't have been more helpful.

I'm a passionately curious, travel-addicted, food-obsessed freelance marketer/strategist/communicator. I'm also a pretty good friend and family member! These days I'm traveling a lot, so chances are good that my place will be free when you need it, or that I'll be sending you a message about yours! Next up is Honduras, Guatemala, Nicaragua and Panama...and then... When I do go somewhere new, I like to live as much like a local as possible - eat at the off-the-beaten track places, discover unknown gems and 'live' in a cool neighborhood for a bit. I love that this site makes it that much easier!
