The apartment is located right in the heart of downtown, it is literally just seconds away from George Street and the core of Water Street. The bedroom is private and very spacious and there is a good selection of coffee and tea available to guests
I am a very easy going 27 year old female engineer with a spare room in my large apartment in downtown St. John's. It is within a minute walk of George Street, cafes, bars, restaurants, shopping, tourist information, a liquor store and pharmacy. There are onsite laundry facilities.
The spare room is huge with a double bed and plenty of storage space, and I keep it fully stocked with a variety of tea and coffee. If you're only in town for a short time then you can't beat the location, it's right in the heart of downtown, only a block away from the waterfront, within walking distance of Signal Hill and a very short drive from Cape Spear.
There's a bus stop right outside the building with routes to the malls and university etc.
It is a classified heritage building so it is old and you can expect a fair bit of street noise at night (especially on weekends). Also, the entrance to the building leaves something to be desired, but the apartment is nice and clean!
I don't spend very much time at home so you will likely have the place to yourself most of the time, but I love meeting new people and I would be happy to recommend my favourite things to see and do while you're here.
If you would like to cook, feel free to use anything in the apartment, I have a fully stocked kitchen and you're welcome to share space in my fridge and freezer.
Parking downtown is free on evenings and weekends. During the day it may be necessary to pay if you're staying in the downtown core.
And finally, there is high speed, FibreOp wifi available in the apartment.
Other Things to Note
My boyfriend, Corey, often shares the apartment with me as well. He is very friendly and able to help you with any problems or questions you might have.
The only house rule would be no smoking, other than that I'm totally easy going and can accommodate whatever kind of stay you're looking for. I'm used to sharing a house with others and I will sleep through anything so you don't need to worry about bothering me at all.
I have 2 cats, one is fairly outgoing and the other you will probably not see, she mostly stays to herself. It's all hardwood floors so people with allergies haven't been too bothered by them in the past!
Andrea and Corey were very welcoming and accommodating. I wasn't around much, since the location is so central and convenient. I walked everywhere! The bedroom is beautifully furnished and well stocked with essentials. I would definitely stay here again, hopefully for more than one night.
This was a very well kept room in an apartment that's is conveniently located in the downtown area. Close to many restaurants and bars. The hosts are friendly and the cats are quiet. There is an assortment of coffee, teas, shampoo, body wash, and even a lint roller provided. An iron and ironing board is also available. Street parking is free in the evenings. Overall, a very pleasant stay in a great location!
Excellent location and room was just as described. Would recommend staying here!
This place is in a great location in downtown St. John's - an important consideration in a city with limited and unreliable public transport. From Andrea's place you are no more than a 10 minute walk from anywhere in downtown. I also walked up to historic Signal Hill in just over 30 minutes. (PS it's very windy up there, but has great views of downtown). The room was clean and very spacious. There was lots of drawer space, which was good for me since I was moving. Nice clean bathroom with a good hot shower. My hosts were generous, very relaxed and really quiet. 9/10.
Andrea was very nice and made me feel at home. She was busy doing her thing, and with my sight seeing sched and drinking in nearby bars at night we didn't run into each other too much. This place is certainly near all the action, so for those of us who like to enjoy the night life, this is where it's at. It's walking distance to the harbour, as well great bars and restaurants and live music. Also a great base to explore the city from and you can do it all by foot or cab rides under $15. The room was warm and so large that I had plenty of room to spread out easily. Andrea's boyfriend and her baby kitties were also a pleasure and a treat to interact with. I would highly recommend Andrea's abode to anyone in an instant. I almost don't want to talk too favourably as there won't be any room when I hope to return one day in the future. Thanks again Andrea for a great stay and for accommodating me for another couple of nights when I couldn't get on my flights. I really appreciated that. Cheers!
Great stay, very convenient location. Andrea met me as soon as my taxi dropped me off from the airport and gave me my key. I asked for an iron and ironing board and she ensured their was one in the room for me. Had a great sleep. Everything was as I'd hoped. Highly recommended.
Great location and price! Andrea and her bf were very friendly, and were able to accommodate me last minute for an extended stay. If you're not a cat person I wouldn't recommend, but otherwise it was a great experience.

We're both passionate travelers and outdoors-people! We're both from Newfoundland (Andrea from St. John's and Corey from Trepassey on the Irish Loop).
Andrea lived in British Columbia for several years where she completed an engineering degree, and is currently working in the construction industry.
Corey is attending Memorial University where he is completing a degree in geology.
We both love traveling, animals, food, exercise, tea, and the great outdoors (to name a few). We love meeting new people and look forward to meeting you!
