I stayed in Nils & Anita's place for 5 months and loved it. It's really cosy, fully equipped with everything you need, and the location is great. Mont-Royal metro is only a 5 minute walk away but really you can get everywhere on foot. Lots of great bars and cafes within walking distance but the street is mostly residential and really peaceful. Would recommend for either a short or long stay.

We had a great time staying in Nils and Anita's apartment ! The apartment is lovely, very cozy and in a great location. Nils and Anita are great host, even if we meet them just for a few minutes, they were always available in case of need. We highly recommend this place, and would definitely go back there.

I can't fault this apartment in terms of location. Rue Drolet is mostly quiet, even though it's only one street away from the action - it's really close to Avenue Mont-Royal, Rue St-Denis, Rue St-Laurent, the Mont-Royal metro, the mountain Mont-Royal and the Mile End. It's in a quaint, vibrant area from where it is easy to explore Le Plateau, Mile End and Montreal in general. It is also a good apartment for two or three people as there is a lounge in a separate room (which has curtains, no door), which can be used as another bed. However I couldn't work out how to pull the lounge out as a double but the lounge is long enough for one person to sleep on. The apartment is generally well equipped with linen and kitchen utensils. It is a little dark being on the ground floor but it is a pleasant little apartment with character. The bar fridge was definitely too small and challenging for the 8 weeks I was staying there, however if you are coming for a few days to a week, you should manage OK. I was a bit taken aback when I arrived in the apartment (after a long flight) as the owner had left a note welcoming me to Montreal but going on to say that the roof was being removed and restored over the next few days and subsequently masses of tar roofing was dropping into the courtyard and out onto the front entrance. I realise things need to happen, yet in the note there was no word at all, to the effect of "Sorry for the inconvenience." A little courtesy goes a long way. I was left little info on the flat and no info on the area (e.g. supermarkets, the area, restaurants, bars, where the metro was). I was due to stay for 2 months at the apartment (a woman alone) so I was a little disappointed that I wasn't left any local info at all. I couldn't operate the TV and soon discovered it was DVD or VHS only and I couldn't get this working either. When I asked for instructions I was advised to (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) the instructions. Given it was their place I thought they might be able to give me some idea on operation. The apartment was clean enough but not super clean on arrival and I wasn't left adequate cleaning devices, e.g. the mop didn't fit the bucket for draining. The kettle was dirty and needed a good clean before use. To the owners' credit, they bought an air-dryer for drying clothes when I requested one (as I don't use electrical dryers in summer for environmental and economic reasons). The owner did respond usually within a day to any questions I had, but as I mentioned from the outset, I didn't feel that they went out of the way to make me feel especially welcome. A shame, as the experience could have easily been made amazing, rather than just...

This is a great apartment in a fantastic neighbourhood (cafe's, boutiques, local restaurants including French bistros and many kinds of ethnic foods). The kitchen is extremely well-equipped for a rental apartment. Actually, the apartment had everything I needed including a washer and dryer, a real bonus since I was there for 2 months. I never met Nils or Anita but they left the keys in a locked box so check-in was easy and at my convenience.

If you want to experience Montréal, Nils apartment is the right place to get a genuine feeling of this very special city. The place is cosy and very well located, only a few minutes from the metro, Saint-Denis, Saint Laurent... The garden where the trees just started blossoming last week is fresh and would be the perfect place to hang out with some friendly Quebecers, enjoying some of the many craft beer brewed in the area. Plan B, Bilikun, Salon Daoume... many places to have a casual drink, or even go out are a few steps away. The street is quiet, as is the place in itself. I highly recommend this flat to anybody who want a charming first impression of the City.

A flawless flat and offer. Furnished in a very tasteful vintage style and perfectly equipped with everything one might need for a stay of a few days or even weeks. The large (sunny!) backyard garden is fantastic. We lived in Nils' flat for 7 days, as a couple with a three-year-old son. For kids of that age the flat offers plenty of space to play and relax. What we appriciated on top of all that were Nils' quick and helpful answers to all our questions before and during the stay. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
