We loved the location... Just on the water in a secluded bay. We loved the cottage... Perfect for a December's wintry day. The place was spotless, charming, and perfect for exploring the area by car and foot... Perfect for rest and play!
We chose this to get a break from our London stress, and it fit the bill incredibly well. The proximity to Bath and the peninsula coast meant short driving spans. The view is stunning in winter, and it is quite peaceful! Highly recommended!!!
The cottage is so nice and clean and the location is gorgeous! Beautiful views of the water, a cozy fireplace and comfy furniture all make for a great stay. Paula was extremely responsive whenever we asked for info re the local area and even volunteered to fill in with anything we may have forgotten at the store! Would highly recommend. Cant imagine how nice this place would be in the summer! I think we may come back to see for ourselves!
We spent four amazing nights in Paula's cottage. The cottage was perfect for our Fall foliage retreat. It is cozy, clean, beautiful property. We enjoyed wood burning fires each evening, star gazing, and just unplugging from everyday life. Paula is a gracious and generous hostess and we can't wait to return some day soon.
Paula texted ahead of our arrival to let us know everything was ready, and it was. Fresh flowers and fruit were left for us and the place was immaculate. Questions were answered immediately.
Paula was a wonderful host. Consistently available and always willing to help with any questions we had. The house is Stunning, better than the pictures. Would definitely return.
We had such a lovely honeymoon up at Paula and Joe's cottage. The views were breathtaking, the cottage was cozy and romantic, and everything was neat, clean and well organized. The kitchen was fully stocked with coffee, tea, and some seasonings (bring your own oil and vinegar though)
The neighborhood was mostly a seasonal crowd with good privacy. The roads are a little wind-y and took some getting used to. The view of the stars was amazing!
Paula and Joe and even their neighbor Bruce were awesome! When we had trouble picking up the wifi signal and Paula ran out and bought a wifi extender and we had no problems afterwards. Bruce took us out on his boat and showed us where we could buy lobster right off the dock in West Point. And Joe helped us cook those lobsters outside and they were delicious!
We enjoyed using the kayaks provided to peruse the New Meadows river. We enjoy fishing, so we went up to Bath and chartered a boat with Great Gadzooks tidewater fishing-highly recommend! Capt Johan and Chris were so much fun! Took us out for 7 hours even though we signed up for a 4 hour trip, because we were having such a great time.
Downtown Bath is a cute little town as well with Farmers Markets on Saturdays and the Kemnebac tavern for some good chowder and lovely outdoor dining.
All in all we had an amazing relaxing vacation and only 6 hours from NYC!
