Bus on corner and Train is 5 minute walk to the Brown line.
I stayed a Week with Rick and Symon. They were great hosts, and since I worked normal business hours their offset in schedule worked really well with mine. The place was nice and clean. They live by the philosophy of "Su casa es tu casa" so pretty much anything you need is available. If not, they know where you can get it. The location is wonderful. If you like night life... pubs galore. If you like restraints... just a walk away. If you need something from the store... there is a Jewel and CVS within minutes. The Brown line is easily accessible and taxis run the area constantly. You can't beat it. The only downside is obviously 1 bathroom, and when there is a full house you have to coordinate it.
Our host was most gracious and helpful.
Our accommodations were very comfortable and very close to public transportation.
We had a great weekend.
Great stay. The place was really clean and comfortable and very nicely fitted out. Nice area too. Not super close to downtown but easy to get around and good to explore a different area.
Rick was very helpful and friendly. I would definitely come back and can highly recommend it.
Ricks house is very clean and modern. Their place is located in a great part of the city, friendly, save neighbourhood - lots of things in walking distance and it's close to public transport. Rick and Symon are very friendly and easy going hosts. We would stay there again and can really recommend this place to everybody. It was our 9th stay during this 4 1/2 weeks trip through the States and so it was a fantastic end. Our new way to travel is called airbnb
Great!Great!Great! Obviously Rick & Szymon are the best in class host I've ever seen. Clean room and easy to go with. Great tips from Szymon and Rick is very kind to chat with. The little puppy Audrey is also very cute. Anytime this is the best choice of staying in Chicago!
This was our first experience with airbnb and if they are all like this, we have found our method of travel.
Rick and Symon were great hosts and their apartment is exquisite. It was hard to leave and see Chicago. We wanted to stay in and enjoy the space.
Think of it as staying in a friend's apartment while Rick and Symon"vacation" at another of their properties. It's one flight of stairs up. For us former Chicagoans, this neigborhood couldn't be better -- centrally located so we can go by bus (at corner) or El train (3 or so blocks) anywhere we want. Or grab a cab. Did I mention there's a cool craft beer bar nearby, Fountainhead, a couple blocks away, a upscale "diner" down the street from there with a choice of fourteen (14) different fish on the menu while we visited, Margie's ice cream across the street under the El -- I could go on. Oh yeah, the apartment -- clean, nicely furnished with wonderful kitchen, a dining room and huge flat screen TV in living room. Window air conditioners keep the temp right. They just finished their little Shangri La out back and there are chairs and table out there -- once again design sense is apparent -- They are friendly helpful, did I say generous? We were welcomed to anything in the fridge! Okay, my wife, daughter and I drank up the pomegranate juice but that was about it. This is a real Chicago neighborhood experience where you can walk the area, say hello to the folks walking their kids or dogs and ride instead of drive. We give it two thumbs way up for value, location, comfort and friendliness (including the building's other tenants).
Patrick was a great host. He and Simon were super friendly and gave us good suggestions for things to do around the area, where to eat, where to get on the train, etc. As for the condo, it was super nice and easy to get to after a day of being super tourists! We also got to meet Audrey, the pup.
I'd recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay in Chicago and being in a nice quiet part of town. I'm pretty sure I'll def. come back if/when I return.
This was our first experience with Airbnb and we will definitely be back. The booking process was very easy and our host communicated with us quickly and pleasantly. Our hosts, Rick and Szymon were very hospitable and accommodating so we had a great weekend stay with them. The room was beautifully decorated, spacious and clean, bed and pillows very comfortable, ample storage space and hangers in closet and dresser and internet worked well for us. There was a tv in our room and a big screen in the living room which we did not use but was made available to us as well. The home was neat, clean and decor was beautiful and modern. We were made to feel at home right away and had free use all areas including the beautiful kitchen and a lovely back yard patio. Bathroom down the hall was also neat and clean and all supplies were available for use including a hairdryer. Iron and ironing board was also available. Location is very convenient to restaurants, shops and brown line trains. If you are a light sleeper, the bedroom window does face a street so there is occasional voices or traffic but didn't disturb us at all - we slept soundly and had a restful weekend! Thanks for a great visit Rick. We hope to see you again soon!
