Interaction with Guests
I interact with my guests as much or as little as they wish, schedule permitting. This has ranged from having dinner together, going on a run in the neighborhood, taking a yoga class together to greeting them and not seeing them again.
We live in a very quiet, secluded area in the middle of the woods yet downtown is a 5m drive away.
A car is the most convenient way to get around. Bicycles also work.

Wow Judy, thank you for your hospitality over the labor day weekend. Leading up to our stay, Judy communicated in a very timely manner and made herself available for any questions we may have had. The accommodations met and exceeded our expectations. Very roomy and clean and about a 10 minute drive from the East Hampton beaches. Judy had good recommendations for local dining too and we definitely plan to stay here again.
My wife and I had a very enjoyable, relaxing stay with Judy and Ted and their 10 year old son, Erick. The property is in the woods (yet breezy) with a nice-sized pool and patio chaises. The accommodations are exactly as described - very clean - and the bed very comfortable (with good linens). The bathroom is spacious and has a bath as well as separate shower.
Judy is very warm and welcoming and takes an interest in her guests' well being. We enjoyed breakfast every morning on the deck. Ted is an award-winning cartoonist and author, widely traveled and very interesting to converse with.
Highly recommended and we look forward to a return visit soon.
I booked this for my parents (both in their late 60's and both frequent travelers who are willing to stay in any conditions) and they did not have a good experience.
The toilet was blocked when they arrived. They had to ask for a second pillow and the shower also did not drain properly. I am aware that septic systems are sensitive in the Hamptons but if you are renting on Airbnb and charging as much as we were charged then make the effort to check your plumbing before guests arrive.
There was only one pillow which was tiny and they had to ask for another. There was little space to put there stuff. In general, and not helped by the incredible amount of noise at 6am on the last day, this was a terrible airbnb experience and I would not recommend it to anyone.
I will be making a formal complaint.
It was unfortunate that the toilet was blocked. There was a lot of rain the days previously but as soon as I was notified of the problem, I resolved the problem ASAP. Toilets can be blocked at the Four Seasons as well.
Since Matthew did not stay here, he did not know that there were TWO pillows. When his mother asked for two more pillows, I also immediately provided them.
Again since Matthew was not here, he cannot know that there were two large drawers provided for storage and half a large closet. This has always been ample storage space for every other guest who has stayed for a much longer period than two days.
Regarding the noise, most of my guests have enjoyed the sound of crickets chirping in the night and birds singing in the morning. It is unfortunate that Mathew's parents found it so onerous.
I can only guess that Matthew was so mean in his review because I declined his request to discount the room rental price. Since it was August in the Hamptons, I doubt he would have found anyone who would have done so. I certainly regret renting to him and his parents. The parents seemed nice enough, though rather cold and unfriendly. I never met Mathew, fortunately.
Very lovely stay. Peaceful. Quiet. Located in east Hampton, but very convenient to sag harbor, bridgehampton, and Montauk. Thanks, Judy!
JUDY was a wonderful host. one of the outlets blew and she was quick to remedy the situation. Room and bath seemed clean. The only issue was the shower drain seemed blocked which caused a small water backup in the stall. Hopefully it is fixed next time we return. Bed was very comfortable! It was nice to sit on the deck for breakfast and hear nature. We were alittle frustrated with cell service but that seemed to be the norm for all the hamptons. I would definitely stay again! Thanks Judy!
This was a great place, and an excellent location (close to Sag Harbor and East Hampton). The room was clean with a very spacious bathroom. Judy had some great suggestions about where to eat. The pool looked inviting but we never got a chance to use it (too busy at the beautiful beaches!)
Judy is such a wonderfully dear soul & instantly put me at ease from the moment I drove up to her tranquil, beautiful property. After the most glorious rest in almost 6 months, waking up to crisp clean air flowing through the screened door, I felt absolutely rejuvenated & so very blessed to have had the opportunity to experience Judy's oasis. Can't wait to return! Thank you so much Judy for everything!!

About the Host, Judy
The three of us (me, partner, a 10 yr old) live here in what I think of as a treehouse. We have a live and let live attitude but are respectful and considerate of the fact our guests are vacation.
We recently went on a mostly vegan diet for health reasons so we now offer extremely wholesome but simple breakfast stuff.
We welcome guests who are neat, quiet and considerate.
We don't get to travel as much as we used to so love to do it vicariously through people we meet on Airbnb.

The schedule changes so please check the website schedule but it is lots of fun to my guests in my classes.
Great bay beach a few minutes away. Tranquil and calm. You will probably 1 of 5 people on the beach.
tasty, healthy take out, smoothies, juices and the best brownies in town.
Great pasta and pizza at reasonable prices. Tiramisu is to die for.
