Maria and Dino's bungalow is a lovely, airy space. They communicated the house rules clearly via messages and a video beforehand. The location is close to bus routes and we got around easily. I can see it being good for a family with children - parking, lots of games on hand, 2 bedrooms.
Very nice home, light galore. Dino and Maria are very personable, and the area is close (by car) to all of Portland's beauty. I recommend driving to the St. John's Bridge, over it, and taking Germantown Rd. to skyline, or to Beaverton/Hillsboro. I had a nice run (6.5 miles) to/over the bridge and back via the bike lanes on Willamette. I had a great stay but a few minor improvements would make for a perfect stay. The TV doesn't work well, and there is no cable (I was secretly happy about this but my 11 year old son was not). The wifi is really not high speed. I had to reset the router more than a few times for wifi to work at all, and it was way too slow to rent a movie on iTunes... fine for basic email, internet and (website hidden). My only real complaint was that there were TWO occasions in a 4-day stay where I was "asked" but really told (on one days notice) that real estate agents/ photographers were coming by for a 2-3 hour chunk and I needed to be scarce AND had to make beds, put away clothes and suitcases, toiletries, etc.., and make sure the place was spic and span. Had I been told this in advance I might have stayed elsewhere. Having said that, it was very nice with an amazing kitchen and I would stay again. I wish the professional espresso maker had instructions available. :-) I felt silly going out for coffee with that beautiful machine right there. Small criticisms notwithstanding, in summary, I highly recommend this place and the 2 smaller basement units.
We really enjoyed our stay in the house with our 1.5 year old. The second night the guests below us in the basement were being noisey past quiet time 10 pm, and Dino was very responsive to quiet them down with a friendly reminder. We were able to get right back to sleep! We appreciated both of them being helpful and quick to respond to our questions. We figured out the neighborhood was pretty nice going towards Willamette street. We drove to all places as they were too far to walk. But it literally only took 4 min to the Alphabet district-so cute! Basically the house was a good homebase ! Thank you so much!
The bungalow was my first airbnb experience and a great one at that! Equipped with a fantastic espresso machine, bikes to use, big outside patio and the comfiest beds! Maria was a great host. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a great house to stay at in North Portland!
Dino and Maria went above and beyond for us! Not only were they super accommodating, but also incredibly friendly and very helpful in assisting us with our trip and our work needs. They were both very communicative, quick to respond, the home was incredibly neat, well decorated and clean. They've gone the extra step to ensuring that you have a great experience! Definitely highly recommended.
The Bungalow is a great place to stay if you are visiting Portland and want a bigger space. It has lots of room, a big dining table, and huge kitchen, with an amazing espresso maker. Overall, our experience staying here was positive. It is in a very convenient location if you have a vehicle. It stays cool, even on the hottest days in late summer and has a great patio area.
The apartment was lovely and Maria was sweet and helpful throughout the entire process! I couldn't have asked for a better setup for my family's first visit to Portland.
Easily one of the most outstanding guest we have ever had the honor of hosting the last 3 yrs. They departed the Americano Bungalow in immaculate condition, very good communicator and followed all the guidelines. We highly recommend her and would say YES YES YES anyday. BRAVO !
This was a really beautiful home, just the right size for us. The kitchen was enormous! The backyard was our favorite place to hang, with it's large wood deck, lounge chairs, and lovely garden. Although we never met our hosts, they returned our calls very promptly and Dino gave us some good ideas on places to eat and see during our stay.
Super cute and very clean flat. The home was exactly as described in the listing, and the location is about ten minutes from downtown. I'd definitely stay again if I'm in the area!
Maria & Dino were very timely with communication, which was much appreciated. The house was very comfortable & the back yard gorgeous. The espresso machine was magnificent! Cons:The location was not as central as we would have liked. Check out time was a bit early,10:00 am sharp. (I like to sleep in on vacation.) We were able to leave our bags in a secure area of the house, though, which was helpful.
