A private home lodging located in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica with a spectacular post card ocean/ jungle view.
A short walk to the beach and the National Park. We are not a hotel so if you enjoy staying in a home this is the right place.
A full kitchen is available for your use but breakfast is service in the main house. A large deck overlooking the ocean and tropical rainforest is a wonderful way to see wildlife or just relax with a cold drink and good book.
Manuel Antonio and the National Park is internationally known for its breathtaking beauty and abundance of wildlife. Without even moving from our deck you can see monkeys (3 kinds), sloths, coatis, tucans and lots more in their natural environment. Our garden has many species of tropcial plants including heliconias, cinnamon, allspice, papaya, bananas, pineapples and orchids. We are a 10 min walk to the beach. Everything you need can be found within walking distance. A small supermarket, banks, gift shops and some of the best restaurants in the area are a short distance away. Looking directly at the National Park we have one of the best views in Manuel Antonio. Our very small friendly bi-lingual staff with many years of living in Costa Rica, can make any tour reservations for you. If you would like to go sailing, river rafting, parasailing, horseback riding, kayak through the mangrove, or swing through the canopy we can arrange it for you.
All our guests may use the deck and livingroom/kitchen area of the teak house. The view is spectacular and there is a hammock and lots of deck chairs to sit and watch the monkeys passing though the trees.
I will only receive guests after 6 pm by direct request, so ask first if you plan on arriving at night.
I stayed for two nights in Manuel Antonio and for this time I booked a room in Casa Buena Vista. It is very well located. The beach is very close and also the centre of Manuel Antonio. The breakfast was very good and also the rooms are big and clean. Anita is very helpful and nice. She gives very good recommendations for Manuel Antonio and the neighbourhood. If I will go again to Manuel Antonio, I would stay again in Casa Buena Vista, but than I'll take a room with A/C because it is very hot there!
Siamo stati a casa buen a vista x 4 notti . Noi ci torneremmo molto volentieri !!!! Pura vida!!!
Anita was very kind and helpful. The room was clean and had amazing views. I would recommend Casa Buena Vista.
Casa Buena Vista is a great place to stay in Manuel Antonio, with good walking access to the beach and national park as well as restaurants, grocery stores, etc. It has a great view of the magnificent Manuel Antonio coastline, and although the hills can be a bit strenuous, it's downhill to the beach and park, and you can ride the bus back up the hill at the end of the day. Anita was a great hostess, serving up a delicious breakfast each day, good conversation and in-depth knowledge of the area where she has lived for 40 years. Our room was quite pleasant as was the communal porch, but we didn't use the kitchen as it wasn't very well stocked with glassware and dishes. All in all, we would definitely recommend this B&B to others wanting a comfortable stay with a friendly and helpful host.
Kamer was relatief schoon. Er zijn een aantal katten in de casa en die zitten daar waar ook ontbeten wordt. Ondanks mijn affectie voor deze dieren, is dat verre van hygiënisch. Al met al wel een goed verblijf gehad.
Anita was not there when we arrived, but we were well received by Nuria (her housekeeper).
A room very clean, beautiful view of the forest and the sea, an "alarm clock" with the cries of howler monkeys. Breakfast plentiful, varied and very good. A very good atmosphere, nice terrace, we warmly recommend the rooms at Anita.
We had such a great time there ! We had the room 1 and we really enjoy the way everything was set up at Casa Buena Vista, the deck is a very nice quiet place to relax, surrounded by Nature wherever we are and really good breakfasts we enjoyed sharing with everybody and with such an amazing view, great way to start the day. Anita and her very nice employee made our stay really really great ! Beaches are in a walking distance (little hike!) as well as restaurants and a 10 minute walk to get the bus to go either to Quepos or the Park, cheapest and most convenient way to move. Our only "regret" was most of restaurants and places to eat around had nothing very local, you have to go to Quepos for that, of course we knew we were going to a touristic area but we had this little disappointment about the area but that is a teeny tiny detail compared to the whole experience and regarding our place to stay, it is exactly how we imagined our -too short- trip in Costa Rica and we hope to stop by again someday !
We stayed with Anita at Casa buena vista for 5 days. While the accomadations are very nice and clean we do however have a few things we did not like. Casa buena vista is located on an incredibly steep hill which prevented us from venturing out too often, you really need a vehicle if staying there. Although we had a great view of the ocean from our room ,it was quite the trek up and down the roads just to get to the beach which we did not like. The other downfall was is there really should be a pool at Casa buena vista. Considering how hot it gets there and the fact it is far from the beach, a pool would have been perfect for guest to interact with each other as well. The room we stayed in # 1 was very nice but right next to the busy road and with there being no glass on the windows we heard every noise including the vehicles going by at 4 and 5 in the morning,so we never had a good nights sleep. While sitting on the deck from the kitchen we had the white faced monkeys visit on many occasions, we also had howler monkeys which are amazing ans scary to hear at 3am in the morning. Anita and her housekeeper are wonderful and make the stay easy. As I said, other than location on a steep hill and no pool, Anita does a great job with making guest feel at home.
Our 10 day stay at Casa Buena Vista was wonderful.
The rooms were comfortable, nice and clean. Everything that you need for great vacation. I was in a room 1 which had a spectacular view and was very light and spacious. Nuria made us delicious breakfast every morning with eggs, fresh juice, fruit bowl and coffee. There was also a full kitchen that we took full advantage of. There is a lot of fresh fruit available and it was a perfect opportunity to make home made guacamole.
We were lucky to make also wonderful new friends in Casa Buena Vista and had great time taking with Anita who is a wealth of knowledge about where to go, what to do and what to look out for in CR. We had a rental car for the visit but it would be perfectly fine to take the bus everywhere.
I recommend spending more than a night or two in Casa Buena Vista. There is much to explore in the area and it takes a bit of time to really appreciate the location and vibe of the house.
Pura Vida :)
