It's really a lovely house. You feel like you live in the forest. And beach is nearby, although requiring some walking. But the beach in that area is super nice, quiet and peaceful. If you are going out, be prepare to walk up hills for 10 to 15 mins. That's a good amount of work out. But the bus station is just up in the corner. So it's pretty convenient. The breakfast was great as well! Thanks Anita and her lovely house keeper!

Anita is a lovely host and the accommodations are exactly as described. If you want to stay in a non-descript resort...this is not the place for you. If you want a unique experience....waking in the morning to the sounds of howler monkeys, birds, the scent of perfume trees and a lovely breakfast provided by Anita and her sweet housekeeper....this IS the place for you. We also had the use of a communal kitchen, library, teak house with hammock (which we had to ourselves) that allowed us to spread out and relax. This was the perfect place for us to kick off a week-long trip in Costa Rica...will never forget it. Thank you, Anita.

Great place to stay. Keep in mind that the house is on the middle of the hill, so some walking is needed if you walk to the beach or to the store. Breakfast is delicious and very filling. Wildlife is present, so expect to be woken up by some monkeys or birds. Anita's house has a great view and I would definitely recommend it.

We had a problem finding the spot, but when we did, it was a great location and walking distance to great restaurants and the park.

Casa Buena Vista is a lovely place to stay and is more secluded. The view from the room was amazing- you can see the ocean and the park in the distance. We walked to the park, which took about 40 minutes on the main road. Anita was a great host and made us feel very welcome.

Anita's casa was such a treat and a wonderful way to spend our last few days in Costa Rica. Short walk up the hill to access bus to Manuel Antonio park and beach or bus Into Quepos. The scenery surrounding her home is so special. So much wildlife. Open air rooms as an extra bonus, loved listening to the sounds of the forrest day and night. Delicious falafel bar within walking distance. Anita and Nuria could not have been more welcoming and helpful. Hope to stay here again sometime. Pura Vida♡

I discover Manuel Antonio 41 years ago after graduating the University of California in Berkeley. Don Melton and myself first did a research project in the National Park and adjoining beaches and decided to make Punta Quepos our home. Don was the local historian and gave educational talks for many groups including National Geografic. We were among the founders of the first Chamber of Tourism in Manue Antonio, founders of ASCONA (Quepos first conservation organization), and have continued to be active in civic and conservations groups to date. I am currently working with a group to establish an animal shelter here in our area. We worked for many years on the problem of drownings (see page 7). I ran my gift shop LA BUENA NOTA for many years and because of my extensive knowledge of Costa Rica, I can answer most questions about our area and some advice about other tourist destinations in Costa Rica.
