The Space

Firstly, to see what dates are open, click on the calendar tab and that will show you all open spots for booking.

Secondly, we do have television but for movies only -

And now, for our description:

This ocean front cozy cabin is a private lot with access to the rocky/sandy Bay of Fundy beach. It has everything and more for what you dream of having for a cabin on the ocean - come and see and you won't want to leave! It must be said that the waters are not meant for swimming in the summer - far too cold for most. However, the scenic view, sunsets, beach combing for sea life, bon fire appeal, it is truly a wonderful place to relax. Every season has it's treasures.
We are located approx 1 hour from the city of Halifax - and for most tourist attractions throughout central Nova Scotia - 1 to 2 hours max of driving. It has three bedrooms, one on the main level a 3/4 size bed, two upstairs one is a queen the other a double - also a cozy couch for someone else to curl up on in the living room. If you are looking for a true cottagey, rural experience, this is it. With a wood fireplace and newly installed heat pump, along with electric heaters, you will never be cold even in the dead of winter. We have a wonderful selection of music in cds for the stereo or records to play on the record player. TV for watching movies (no satellite or local tv though), books and games- even if it rains you'll have lots to do. We recently added an outdoor soaker tub for two - great for starry nights! (not available Jan-Mar)
We've built this cabin ourselves. It truly has been a labour of love we have built for our family. It is the perfect spot for young and old alike. It has some very unique features that make for lots of fun with faux stained glass work, unique water access, funky ceilings, and so much more. All wood flooring except the bathroom - which is equipped with a shower but no tub. There is a washing machine (not available in winter) and clothes line. Down by the bluff, you'll find (2) two seater benches and a beach swing as well as a hidden sheltered area lit at night with mini lights -

Fresh bedding (including the top blankets), towels, shampoo, conditioner, blow dryer, even a flat iron available - kitchen fully equipped including condiments, spices and standard baking supplies such as flour, sugar etc. - Barbeque on deck, lots of firewood for fireplace and outdoor pit (included in price). Just email us and we can let you know what we have.

Just a two minute drive from the cottage you'll be at the harbour with a wonderful little German Restaurant with take out & ice cream which serves Canadian as well - and a local gift shop nestled in behind it. (This is a seasonal restaurant and closes September 30 for the winter) If you are looking for fresh lobster or scallops - depends on the catch but we have an inside track on a local fisherman we can share with you!

And from Harbourville, you're only 40 minutes away from Hall's Harbour which is a must see and has more local crafts, a small take out and a lobster pound.

In Berwick, (15 minutes ) you must take in an evening at the Union Street Cafe/Wick's Pub - check them out on the web - every Friday evening they have open mike night - which means if you are musically inclined, you can sign up to sing on stage for a couple songs - this is always hosted by local, more seasoned entertainers from the Valley and offers free mussels and garlic bread at 9 pm - The restaurant and pub menus offer food is second to none and the people are wonderful. They also have several selections on their menu for gluten free diets.

So much to tell you but take too long to write - so firstly - if you have time enough ahead - get yourself a Doer's and Dreamers guide on the Nova Scotia tourism site. We do have one at the cabin for your use along with many local brochures etc.

Another very good site for searching restaurants, local events etc of the Annapolis Valley just type in Annapolis Valley vacations and you'll find it -

What makes us unique is the authenticity of it's Nova Scotia fishing community cottage - We are not a motel/hotel so if you are looking for white glove stay - this is not the place for you but if you are looking for a good old fashion Nova Scotia experience - this is it. We take a great deal of pride in having the place crisp and clean for you.

There is so much to do and see you'll wish you stayed longer

  • Our experience at Kevin and Janice's cabin was nothing short of incredible. They were amazingly friendly and helpful with everything. They helped us plan our trip and helped get us the inside scoop on activities that we wanted to do. The cabin was even better than described in the listing. The cabin had everything that was needed to make the stay comfortable and cozy. It was very clean and the location was incredible. The cabin was the perfect place to stay while exploring Nova Scotia.

  • We had an amazing getaway at this cabin. Kevin and Janice have put their personal style and care into every inch of the design- it really is a spectacular home. Moreover, they are two extremely thoughtful and hospitable people. We can't wait to get back to the cabin and would highly recommend making a trip as soon as possible!

  • Janice and Kevin were thoughtful hosts. The place was warm for our arrival, there were treats to enjoy, and the cabin was clean and orderly. They checked in to make sure everything was okay and to our liking at the beginning and the end. The location was beautiful and easy to find. I definitely recommend this to others.

  • Our second stay at the cabin couldn't have been more perfect. The cabin was the perfect hideaway in the midst of a major winter storm and a terrible cold snap. Janice and Kevin were incredible to work and plan with, very flexible and helpful. From tips on how to keep the cabin warm, where to park, and allowing us to stay extra time because of the weather, they were the perfect hosts. I would strongly recommend this cabin, we've been there twice in less than six months and can't wait to go back.

  • My girlfriend and I had stayed at Kevin & Janice's Bay of Fundy Cozy Cabin for New Year's (2013-2014) and had the best time ever! This cabin is exactly as described..... Cozy!! Tonnes of music, board games and wood for burning. The cabin is quirky and full of charm and is literally steps to the bay (good for Mussel picking as well). Thanks for the wonderful stay Kevin & Janice. We will definitely be seeing you soon!

  • Kevin and Janice are warm and welcoming hosts and their cabin by the sea is just as inviting. This is a wonderful place for a peaceful and fun get-away. We'll be back and we'll be telling our friends!

  • I don't have enough space here to say all the good things about Kevin and Janice that I feel. My husband, Andy and I traveled from Pennsylvania to get married at this beautiful cottage on the Bay and Kevin and Janice were so much more than hosts. Their incredible thoughtfulness made every moment there a joy and their kind, genuine spirits made us feel as though we were with dear friends on our special day. The memories of our days there will be ones Andy and I will treasure for the rest of our lives. Ours is a unique story - certainly not the typical vacation or wedding (elopement!), for that matter, but I have every confidence that every guest who crosses their threshold will experience the same level of hospitality, care and genuine kindness. The cabin itself is beautifully situated with a breathtaking view of the bay. Every nook is filled with Kevin and Janice's charm, humor, imagination, and clever craftsmanship. You will feel right at home and so very reluctant to leave and, if you are as blessed as Andy and I, you will leave having gained two wonderful friends!

  • This is the second time that I have been lucky enough to stay at Janice and Kevin's lovely cottage. We had a great weekend picking mussels (which were delicious), playing records beside the fire, and strolling along the shore when the tide was out. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a restful, fun-filled get-away!
