The Space

A little Loft in a 18th century building. Near Le Louvre or place des Victoires, come to stay in a former art gallery: on street level, kitchen, living room with a bed settee for 2. In the basement: a bathroom and separate WC, 1 individual bed... Entrance direct from the street like a store. An original decoration, the artists will love! Of course, not authorized for children under 9 and undesirable for aged people. We remaind that it's an exentric flat, only for open minded travellers who understand how lucky they are to leave in a so huge flat (66 sqmetters) in an amazing location for so cheap price. Internet wifi, towels, bed linen included; Confortable beds,
but no TV, no washing machine or hair dryer. There is a renovation actually of the national Library in the street.

Less than 2 minutes by foot: real backery and butchery rue Rameau, for the breakfast "Rutabaga" with fresh croissant, orange juice and ham rue des Petits Champs, in jardins du Palais Royal the famous Vefour 2 stars restaurant on Michelin guide, less expensive "le Grand Colbert" rue Vivienne a typical french brasserie, real parisian café bistrot "Au fil de l'eau" rue Rameau or in front very cheap Thaï food "le Spirit cafe".From april to october le square Louvois or les jardins du Palais Royal grass are ready for your first historical sunbathe. For Madame, so many trendy fashion shops in place des Victoires and rue Etienne Marcel. Young fashion couture like "Lanel" rue des Petis Champs or "On aura tout vu" rue Montpensier. A bike station rue Chabanais and another one rue de Richelieu, the nearest subway is Pyramides or Bourse (4 minutes walking). I have so many description to offer in these area...

    Response from Nicolas:

Attention landlords, beware of Lise and her friends or family. Lise tried to go against airbnb Policy from the very start and cancel the flat she had previously reserved. She was made aware of the Policy to which she had agreed and from the beginning she displayed hostility. Upon her arrival to Paris she was rude towards the staff who handled her check in making accusations that their phone was not working. It was agreed she could leave her suitcases in advance before the check in. She and her friends displayed aggressive behaivor asking all of questions and checking the flat as if they were staying in a bad place or they knew nothing about it. The flat was left dirty, among the things we found was a plate of butter on the kitchen counter. The reason to Watch out for her is her lack of respect for air bnb host and her hostility towards the whole process.

  • I would be honest from the beggining till the end. Nothing personal, just my point of view. First of all, I should mention the check-in procedure. As my friends arrived late (I came the next day), everything was very clearly explained: the keys were in the mail box, everything was easy to find. The appartment is perfectly situated in Paris - if you want to visit this city and you do not really care if it is a calm street or not (when you are spending the hole day walking at this city, the evening you are so tired that you can sleep even at the bus stop) - it is really what you need. Nicolas is very kind man, he was open for all our problems and he helped us to solve them. When I arrived at the appartment... I was loss of words. Everything is extremely dirty. I understand, that it is not a hotel rooms, but still - if you rent your appt, you need to take care about it. I don't even talk about bathroom. Extremely cold, humidity is higher than outside when it is raining. The photos are well done. The reality is far from pictures. I understand, that this is not easy in Paris to have an appt, extremely expensive etc, but it is neccessery to take care about it. At least a little, somitemes...if you rent it for different people. The appt is dark, dusty and...well, it was the disappointement of the trip. Moreover, we took only one pair of keys which was left for us in mail box, this only pair we left at the table. In couple of days I recieved the mail where Nicolas were asking me 9 euros for 2 extra pairs of keys that we didn't leave at the table during check-out. We didn't even see these keys, we didnt touche them. I didnt find what to answer...Nicolas, the potential of your appt is very high, you just need to spend some time and money to take care about it and the result would be perfect, you would be out of competition. Anyway, thank you for your help and availability and your help. Good luck in your evoluation. Anna

"Nothing personal", she writes? Anna has kept with her the flat keys after her stay and refuse to pay for the copy. I have freezed the garantee. Now she's trying to avenge with this bad review (dirty, noisy, wrong pics, humid, cold, dark...all the words we can read with such guest...It was a long time ago we knew such charming experience in the former gallery (we receive airbnb guest since 2010...)...

  • That was my first time to get apartment through airbnb and it was my first time to visit Paris. The location of the Flat is very good because it's right at the center of the city. That help a lot. The host Nicolas is very good in responding via email even though I didn't meet him in person. My apartment in Rome didn't have internet working in the morning before I flown to Paris. Nicolas replied my email and provided all information about the access to the Flat. After I called him, he gave me all the access codes to the Flat. My problem was the dust entering through the front door from the construction outside and the drilling noise from the nearby hotel especially in the morning. The dust was bothering me because I am allergic to dust. The bed upstairs was small for two people but my wife and I managed to sleep there since it was only three days. The overall flat was good because it's big and wifi was working. Since the Flat is located near the heart of the city, shopping centers and restaurants, I would suggest that Nicolas should find a way to prevent the dust from entering the flat from the outside construction. I like it because the dining area is big, kitchen is good and near the center. My wife and I didn't cook but were only warming up our coffee and sandwiches. I would recommend it to people.

  • We stayed 4 nights at Nicolas´ place. We were a group of 5 friends and had lots of space. We enjoyed the flair and the arrangement of this apartement and even though the cooking space is a little bit small, we managed to feed all of us properly!

The location is just amazing to wander through the city and its famous sights and we only had to use the metro to get to some places in the north. We met some friends who live in Paris and they were all jealous of our nice and comfty home.

Nicolas was a funny and relaxed host and supported us with some useful advice regarding the area and supermarkets.

The toilet next to the bedroom downstairs might be a problem for some, but if you want a really nice apartement in the heart of Paris for a real good price, you shouldn´t complain and just enjoy the place. For us, that wasn´t a problem at all!!!
