Nice room in relaxed charming house (1910) in great neighborhood - not touristy - central, safe, quiet, free parking, near Golden Gate Park & Museums, 15 min to 280 & downtown, 10min to GG Bridge. Great restaurants, 24 hr market, bus lines close by.
San Francisco Vacation: 100+ Year Old Flat Near Golden Gate Park, Great Restaurants, De Young Museum, Academy of Sciences,Japanese Tea Garden, Conservatory of Flowers, Botanical Garden, Ocean, Safe, (website hidden) Bus, Easy Public Transportation, Easy Parking, Close to 280 and Marin.
We live in a 2 bedroom flat. The flat is 100+ years old with character, has hardwood floors, 2 working fireplaces, central heat and a private laundry room with a high energy efficient washer and dryer. (Central heating is great in San Francisco, as many places do not have this and are cold, drafty and/or moldy due to the fog and proximity to the ocean.) We have a small kitchen and there is so much ridiculously great food in this town, we eat out often. Please let us know if you would like to cook and we will get you set up with space and supplies in the kitchen. Enjoy our beautiful backyard with organic garden.
The room is calm and quiet, with hardwood floors. There is a queen size futon with a new 3 inch thick memory foam pad on top - super comfortable.
High Speed WiFi is included. 1.5 blocks to Golden Gate Park and 2 miles to the Pacific Ocean. There is a great yoga studio one block from our house. Our street is quiet but there are many bus lines close by. If you drive, you can be on the Bay Bridge in 15 minutes, and on the Golden Gate Bridge in 10 minutes. 19th Ave is on a diagonal, and is only 3 blocks away from our house, for super easy access to 280. Parking is very easy here. There are many great restaurants within walking distance. Close to Golden Gate Park, where you can walk thru a magical redwood grove on your way to the rose garden or Stow Lake. 2 blocks from De Young Museum or Academy of Sciences. There is a very large and wonderful bookstore called Green Apple on Clement street near 6th avenue, open into the evening 7 nights a week.
Parking is free and easy.
Having lived in SF for many years, this is by far my favorite neighborhood to live in! We are self-employed, artistic, and practice yoga. You will have a great, relaxing, and fun time here with us in San Francisco.

This is my very favorite neighborhood in San Francisco. We're a block and a half to Golden Gate Park, right by the De Young Museum, Academy of Sciences, Rose Garden, Stow Lake, Japanese Tea Garden, and Redwood grove. Our neighborhood is non-touristy and the real deal. There are people who grew up in their houses and still live there today. We know our neighbors (and their pets:). It's so great to go enjoy all the city has to offer, then come home and relax in peace, sleep deeply, wake up and have breakfast on the back steps looking at the garden, then go out and have another fun day.
Not only is parking easy, there are also many bus lines very close by that will take you anywhere in San Francisco and beyond. Golden Gate transit, plus the bus lines: 1, 2, 5, and 38 are all very close.
Please take your shoes off inside the house. Please do not use chemicals, like perfume, cologne or aftershaves, as they cause me to get headaches. Thanks for understanding.
No smoking inside or within 100 feet of the house.
Feel free to use the kitchen between 9am and 9pm for your vegetarian pleasures.
Relax and make yourself at home!
I really enjoyed staying with Shayla and David. Their home was warm and full of good energy. They are very engaging and creative people and helped me feel very at home. The room was super comfortable and the house itself is fantastic. I love San Francisco houses. I hope to cross paths with these folks in the future and I'm sure you will too.
I loved my stay with Shayla and David! They are very welcoming, funny and perfect host.
Their house is very cute and my bed was very confortable. Totally recommend to anyone their AirBnb.
Shayla is very very enthusiastic. She welcome us after a long flight journey even it was late in San Francisco. The bed is soft. We have a good stay there.
We had a fantastic time staying at Shayla's and Dave's place! We were staying there for nine days and it was great. Shayla and Dave are both such great hosts, very kind, welcoming and helpful. We had some great conversations and they gave us great tips for things to do, eat etc. in their neighborhood.
The apartment is clean, cozy and comfortable and the room is lovely! Located in a nice and safe area in the Inner Richmond, there's hardly any noise from the streets at night, but there is the golden gate park and restaurants etc. etc. just around the corner. The perfect spot if you prefer living in a quieter place when visiting SF. Though we were out pretty much all day, we always felt at home when we came back to the apartment in the evening.
To sum up, we were truly happy to have stayed here, since it was the perfect start for our stay here and we can only recommend this place to anyone planning to spend some days in the city.
I had family visiting San Francisco last minute and Shayla graciously welcomed them to her home. My family report that they couldn't have been happier with how warm, accommodating, and professional Shayla was. Two thumbs way up for Shayla.
Shayla and Dave were great! Very welcoming, and treated me to tea and snacks upon my arrival, along with some great conversation!
Room was very nice, clean, just as advertised. Neighborhood is good as well - park and transit adjacent.
I would definitely recommend staying here. Thanks again!
I absolutely loved staying with Shayla, Dave, and little El Toro. All were extremely accommodating and the bed is the most comfortable bed I've slept in- I almost slept through in an Earthquake on it!
Dave and Shayla were very helpful with helping me find local places to eat and see while I was visiting. I will definitely be back.

I love travel, critters, joy, fresh raw vegan food, chocolate, movies, great books, yoga, live music, laughter and hiking in nature. As a host, I am supportive, unobtrusive and flexible. One of my life mottos: Be part of the solution.
