An excellent experience. Bev is a great host, courteous, accommodating and with a great sense of humour. It's very easy to relax here, a beautiful view with water activities. Close to shopping, buses, and the ocean. Highly recommended.
500 words is definitely not enough for me to describe how awesome the stay was!
The view was amazing and feels unreal. The location is walking distance to the supermarket and Takapuna Centre where you can find everything there. I am not driving so is very accessible for me to take bus to town as well. Just download the apps AT to help with getting around in public transport.
Bev has been a great host. She makes me feel welcome. It's like a home away from home. I had an great experience with Bev and all my housemates.
Thanks Bev for being so generous to share such amazing house location with us.
For a first time traveller to NZ and first time on airbnb, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Bev was so welcoming and friendly that I instantly felt at home. She encouraged guests to utilise the kayak's and bikes and was always willing to share her life experiences and stories (especially her new boat and beautiful snapper!!) The beautiful location by the lake exceeded my expectations, and the close proximity to my daughters basketball games all over the North Shore was fantastic. The shops, cafes, restaurants and beach of Lake Takapuna are all within walking distance to this little piece of paradise. I felt blessed to watch the sun rises each morning over the water, while chatting to other guests over breakfast. Bev certainly has a gift in relating to people and I highly recommend her bnb.
The house is located in very convenient place which is close to marketplace and bus stop. I stayed with my husband and there were few more guests. They were friendly so we could get closer and had dinner together. I really thanks to Bev for having us stay with. I stayed four different AIRBNBs while traveling in New zealand. And I have to say Bev is the most lovely host I've ever met. Look forward to see her again!
This is a location and host that is Airbnb at its best. I would like selfishly like to say 'don't go there' ..........only so there is more chance of me getting a booking in the future!! .......for this is definitely a place you will want to return! The location is stunning and the host Bev could not have been more welcoming or helpful to any of the guests that were here during my stay. She didn't just go the extra mile - she went the extra 1000 and all guests loved her. I had more belly laughs during this stay than I have had in the last two years combined - whilst dining with the Korean and Dutch guests and Bev and her niece. If Fairies made Godmothers then Bev would be the result....... Book now before someone else does!
Rich has been back to stay a couple of times and is now part of our extended family. His is a great cook and entertainer, and has become a real friend to the family and our long term guests, he is an absolute delight to host. We will all miss him when he finally leaves NZ, but we are happy to know that new hosts will have the pleasure of his company.
Bev was extremely friendly and welcoming. She made us feel at home and nothing was too much trouble for us or her other guests. Everything was well-organised, clean and comfortable with all the facilities we could want readily available.
Bev was a kind, thoughtful host during my 5-day stay in her house. Her mom was welcoming too.
Bev's house is right on the shore of Lake Pupuke in the suburbs of northern Auckland. There is a lovely lakeshore park at one end of her street, where I enjoyed picnicking and watching the sunset.
There is an express bus from downtown Auckland, that stops at a bus station about a 15-minute walk from her house. Total travel time 30-40 minutes. There is a slower, more scenic way to Auckland by local bus to Devonport, then a short ferry ride over the harbor to the downtown ferry terminal. I enjoyed going this way when I wasn't pressed for time.
Bev's house has two rooms for Airbnb guests, sharing bathroom facilities. The bed is quite soft. My room has a lockable cabinet, a nice feature. WiFi worked well. Nice quiet neighborhood.
On my last morning, I had to get up quite early to catch the train to Wellington. Bev kindly gave me a ride in her car to the train station, making sure I would be on time. That was thoughtful for sure.
If I ever go back to Auckland, which I would like to do, I would be happy to stay with her again.

About the Host, Bev
Originally from UK and have been living in New Zealand for 20 years. Love the outdoors, particularly water sports, travelling and sightseeing. As a qualified paddle board instructor having a location on Lake Pupuke and close to Takapuna Beach is paradise. Guests are encouraged to treat our home as their own and I like to catch up and discuss travel plans so one day I can write my own Lonely Planet guide! When not out on the water I work locally in IT with occasional overseas trips.
I love helping people get the most out of their visit to NZ and, when time permits, teaching them new water skills in the safe environment of the beautiful North Shore of Auckland. Trips across to Rangitoto are available for the more adventurous.
