A ranch style, humble home, located minutes from old town Cottonwood, which is booming with great cafes, winerys, and antique shops. Our home is 10 miles from Sedona, nestled among the Northern Arizona Desert Rocks with great views and a beautiful 5 minute walk through state park land to the glorious Verde River. There are great hiking trails from the house leading to Indian ruins and hiking right into Dead Horse Ranch State Park.
Giselle, your host, is a Shamanic Arts practitioner and conducts individual and couple shamanic/ mystical journeys to sacred sites in the area. She also offers Sacred Stone Readings and energy medicine sessions, which you could also enjoy while you stay here. (sacredheartsanctuary com)
It is a 3 bedroom home, with your own private room, bathroom with bathtub and shower, and a Sanctuary/ Meditation room. There is a spacious backyard and deck with great views and a relaxing hammock, rocking chairs to watch the sunrise and/or moonrise in the big, wide open skies of the desert, an organic garden, wi-fi and washer and dryer also available.
Having traveled extensively, I understand, appreciate and offer you that which makes a great host and promises a joyful and memorable stay.
This is the perfect, peaceful getaway spot, tucked away in a beautiful area of the Northern Arizona desert with all the treats, luxuries and delights of town right over the bridge and around the corner!
We are located just 15 minutes from Sedona, 7 miles from the artist/ old mining town of Jerome up on Mount Mingus, one hour from Flagstaff and Prescott, 2 hours from the Grand Canyon and 1 1/2 hours from Phoenix.
I stayed with Giselle and her family for one night on the way to a family reunion in Flagstaff. I arrive pretty stressed from the crazy work week I had leading up to my trip and the anticipation of the chaos of my family. I made last minute arrangements, and I'm so lucky Giselle was able to accommodate me. She was very responsive to my questions. She greeted me warmly at the door and I felt at home immediately. Her home is in a quiet corner of Cottonwood - close to town and nice hikes just out her door. The room is comfortable and quiet. I loved visiting with Giselle and Jurrik (spelling??), and wish I could have stayed longer. They are very interesting people and fun conversationalists. They are respectful of you privacy, and it would have been equally comfortable if I wanted to keep to myself. They also have an adorable son who is 4 and really quiet! I had a shaman session with Gisselle the morning I left, which left me feeling centered and energized and ready for my family weekend. I highly recommend Sacred Heart Sanctuary, and will certainly stay again if I'm back in the area.
I had the most amazing stay at the Sacred Heart Sancturay. Giselle, Jorrit and Zunil welcomed me like an old friend and for the days I stayed there I felt a little bit like a part of their family. I was invited to join them for dinners and breakfasts and was able to use their laundry machine. It was all just very easy going, extremly hospitable and warm.
The beautfiul house is located in Cottonwood which is about a 20 min drive from Sedona and a cute little town by it's own right. It's a great base for exploring the surrounding areas (and Giselle and Jorrit have plenty of great tips for that). The bedroom is big and nicely decorated (like the rest of the house), I had my own bathroom and generally all the luxuries a traveler could ask for.
I also did a half day retreat with Giselle, which was awesome and my last evening with them sitting around the fire in the garden and drinking champain will be a memory I will cherish for years to come.
Thank you again to all of you for making my stay at your home such an unforgettable and nurishing experience!
Giselle and her husband were wonderful hosts and had a very charming home. They told us the local scoop on nearby hikes and local restaurants. They even told us about an ongoing meteor shower and setup a blanket outside for use so we could get up in the middle of the night & stargaze. All around a relaxing experience - we hope to visit again!
This little family of 3, myself (Giselle), my husband of 17 years, and our 3 year old son, have finally made our home here in this magnificent desert of Northern Arizona, after living in Europe for over 15 years, traveling and living in many different places.
I have had extensive training and experience in the ancient Shamanic teachings and practices of energy medicine and Soul healing. I am also an actress/ performance artist. I studied and worked in Europe in this field for over 15 years.
I have led many journeys in different lands, for groups and individuals. However, nothing has connected with me stronger than the energy of this land, the Northern Arizona desert of Sedona and the Verde Valley. For me, the power and wisdom that lives here speaks loud and clear. There is no second guessing our true nature, our essence, as it is reflected upon the desert landscape. It is truly awe-inspiring.
This is why we want to share our sacred space with those who are called to visit this area and stay in our home. It is a special place and we like to welcome you here.
