I can offer you a beautiful, large room in an attractive house built in
1910 in the green area of Old South. With balcony. Located on the first floor of my apartment.

The room is nicely decorated with a warm southern atmosphere.
Wi-Fi, DVD, TV, fridge, coffee/tea facilities are available.
There is a comfortable double bed and a possibility for an extra aero bed.
The bathroom is decorated in Mexican style, only shared with me

You can use my kitchen at the ground floor only for washing dishes and microwave.

I am sorry, no pets allowed. And smoking only on balcony.

The supermarket is at the corner and nice small shops are nearby for everything you need. So you can easily take your breakfast at your balcony.
There are also several good places and terraces nearby for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Especially Gent aan de Schinkel is great for a romantic dinner on the terrace at the canal with a lot different Belgian beers.

Don't forget to visit the patisserie Arti Choc with an extensive selection of nearly 50 types of chocolates and truffles, made with the best ingredients.

Located near the Vondelpark, Concertbuilding and Musea. Only 5
minutes away by tram 2 or 16 from the centre. Nightbuses available.
Hiring a bike is of course the best way to see Amsterdam, like we locals do.

Very close to the lively, multicultural Albert Cuyp streetmarket with delicious Dutch treats, clothes and food.
And the fashionable shops of the Cornelis Schuytstraat and the wealthy P.C. Hooftstraat are within walking distance.

Also nearby is a complete different Amsterdam, the business district, the South Axis, with plenty of modern architecture.

If you want to relax, you can visit the local pool in art deco style. Or go the famous Vondelpark with several nice terraces and restaurants. Enjoy your jogging there, watching people or picknicking.

Not far from my house, you can find the Amsterdam Forest; nice to walk and bike there. You can hire a canoe or kayak and inside the park is a goat-farm with delicious homemade food, a pancake restaurant and an outdoor theatre.
Take a small ferry and bike via Nieuwe Meer (New Lake) back to your accomodation.

I live in this house since 1993 and work as a tv-journalist in Hilversum near Amsterdam.

I am Henriette, living in Amsterdam since 1983 on several places.
I was born in Eindhoven, in the South of Holland and studied at the University of Nijmegen and Amsterdam, political science and film-science.

Many years I worked as a film/video/performance programmer in theatres.
Since 1990 I am working as a TV journalist and now for many years for a current affairs program.

I love my work. And I really enjoy going to arthouse movies, experimental cinema, music and dance.
Traveling and seeing other cultures makes me happy, as well as meeting my family, eating with friends and biking with my partner.

I already have a B&B since 1999. I like it so much : it enriches my life meeting all kinds of different people.
