About this listing
The bedroom has changed just a bit, there's now a chair and reading lamp, and the back wall is red.
The Ocean Views from our Living Room will mesmerize you. Enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and watch the waves, then stroll a couple of blocks and have lunch or dinner at the Beach Chalet/Park Chalet. I recommend the tuna ceviche, and they have an on-site brewery. The Queen Wilhelmina Tulip Garden at the base of the Windmills is along the route. Don't worry if the fog rolls in, you can catch the 5-Fulton and arrive at the Academy of Sciences or the De Young Museum within fifteen minutes. We're within walking distance of the Cliff House and the Sutro Baths site. If you're a cyclist, surfer, or just about any type of outdoor person, the park and surrounding areas have a lot to offer. I would recommend packing a sweater, as it can be quite chilly any time of the year.
Our home is two blocks East of Ocean Beach and two North of Golden Gate Park on the very West end of San Francisco. We're on the third and top floor but there isn't an elevator so please consider the stairs when you book your stay. The room is a decent size (for San Francisco) with a comfy queen-sized bed and lots of natural light. I pride myself on being neat and clean so you can expect a pleasant stay with fresh linens and clean towels. We're about 30-45 minutes by bus to most of the major attractions in San Francisco and just a short drive or bus ride to Golden Gate Bridge. The 5 Fulton, 18, and 31 Balboa bus lines are a two-three block walk from the apartment. We're just a short walk from awesome dining. If you're visiting for the fist time I'm happy to help with directions and whatnot. You're welcome to use the kitchen and of course have full access to the bathroom (heated towels, skylight), but please feel free to inquire about anything specific. Street parking is possible but not guaranteed, especially during festival events. Please inquire before your stay about SFO pickup/drop off, reasonable rates.
Guests will have access to the shared bathroom, kitchen and living room as well as in-building laundry and exercise equipment.
We look forward to getting to know our guests but we also understand the need for privacy. When you're in our home please feel free to hang out with us and watch tv and grab a bite, or to chill in your room and relax.
There is such fantastic and bountiful natural beauty within a short walk of our home. Check out Ocean Beach and take in the view from the Cliff House. Climb the stairs to the top of Sutro Heights and let the scenic beauty stun you for a moment. Then cross the street to Lou's (cash only) and grab some brunch. Golden Gate Park is two blocks south and has much to offer including museums, botanical gardens, hiking trails and more. Feel free to inquire about specific locations and events when you book and before you arrive.
There are two 24-hour bus lines within a couple of blocks of our home. The first is the 5-Fulton which picks up 2 blocks south, the other is the 38-Geary which is three blocks north. Street parking is usually easy in my neighborhood and it's free. Mind the street sweeping days/hours and be sure to turn your wheels into the curb if you're on a hill.
Please note that I'm only able to book for two, possibly three months out at a time. If you're inquiring about a date too distant in the future I will certainly keep you in mind as the date draws near, but I would appreciate your assistance in reminding me as well. Thanks you for your understanding!
You're welcome to use the kitchen to cook up a meal, but please tidy up after yourself. We tend to spend a lot of time at home watching TV so you're welcome to join us in the living room, but we understand the need for privacy as well. There is a first floor laundry room you're welcome to use, it takes quarters and is $250 for a wash/dry load.
Interaction with Guests
We're San Francisco residents of many years and would be happy to recommend sights and dining spots. Please feel free to ask any questions you might have.
You couldn't ask for a more beautiful setting! We've lived here for around five years now and I can't imagine life without my view. There are restaurants within a short walk and both park and beach access two blocks away.
The Fulton and Geary bus lines (both 24-hour) are two blocks away. The 18, which goes to The Legion of Honor and Stonestown Mall, is about three blocks away.
I've been hosting visitors through Airbnb for a couple of years now and I couldn't be more pleased with the experience. I've thoroughly enjoyed meeting all of our guests and getting a glimpse of your cultures through our conversations, and I look forward to meeting many more new friends. We're friendly, clean, and quiet people looking for similar temperaments. We prefer quiet evenings with raucous board games and movies rather than loud parties. When you book please keep in mind that this is a shared home with a shared bathroom. We are also on the third floor of our building without an elevator so please keep the stairs in mind. We try to maintain a shoe-free house so please keep that in mind when you arrive. We look forward to meeting you!
Wow! I had such a great trip. Jason and Josh are fantastic hosts, very chilled out, incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the area and what to recommend. The room is just lovely, comfortable bed. I thought the location was a little far out for visiting the main city but actually on the last day I spent the whole day in the area, with just 2 minutes walk to the beautiful and huge beach, a hike up the cliff with incredible views and a short bus ride to Golden Gate park, I had the best day of my whole trip. And theres a very local bus that gets you straight to the centre without any fuss. Can´'t think of any constructive feedback. Just great :)
I truly cannot imagine there is a more generous or more phenomenal host out there than Jason. He went above and beyond for me, driving me to a tour downtown and including me in family meals. Their home is so cute and filled with art, and super spotless clean. With fresh flowers and fresh-baked cookies, I was in heaven! It is really easy to get around the city by bus so don't be dissuaded if you think it is too far from the center (take the 5 leaving and 31 returning and you will avoid up-hill walks). The view is totally worth it! Sutro baths are right around the corner and you definitely don't want to miss that. I truly had the perfect experience here!
Jason and Joshua were wonderful hosts! The room was small, but comfortable. The apartment is very nice. It is also in a good location, very close to the ocean, Golden Gate Park and bus lines. Jason is also a great cook and very generous. He was especially helpful with helping me park my car (a challenge in that neighborhood), giving me ideas of where to go and the best ways to get around the area. They made me feel at home.
Jason was such an incredible host, and his home is quite beautiful. I truly felt that during my stay here with him that he went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and comfortable. His recommendations for places to visit and eat were always great, and I got a good sense of San Francisco from him. At the same time, he was very respectful when I wanted alone time to rest and sleep after a long flight. If you're looking for a BnB experience with an incredible host, book here!
Jason and Josh could not have been more thoughtful and considerate hosts. The description of their available room was very accurate, and the location, convenient, clean, and the view from the home quite spectacular of the ocean.
Jason thought of things to make the stay as comfortable as possible, coffee at the ready, even food and drinks in the frig, and also a drawing tablet and colored chalk, with which to draw the wonderful scenery, or anything else.
Jason was very friendly and offered directions on how to get to the location beforehand. The day I arrived Jason was waiting for me, he helped me with my bags and car. I was also given a tour of the apartment. I was immediately put at ease and felt comfortable where I was staying. I was able to enjoy and participate in an impromptu game night one night. Jason was available for directions and questions. The room I stayed in was comfortable and private in the apartment. There was never an issue with bathroom time. Overall, I was really happy with my stay at Jason's.
I met with Josh since Jason was out of the City and Josh being polite and gentle helped in getting the information I need about the City since this was my first time in San Francisco. He even lent me his jacked for the cloudy weather (even though the weather turned sunny that morning :-p).
But I must say I enjoyed my stay at Jason's place and is looking forward to meet him again during my next visit.
About the Host, Jason
My husband and I live about two blocks from Ocean Beach in San Francisco. He travels frequently for work and I work from home. We're both very social people, gay friendly, hosting board game nights and movie nights with five to fifteen people dropping by to join in. Home improvement projects are my passion and I tend to watch a lot of HGTV. For the most part we're quiet, friendly people. If I happen to be free during your stay I'd be happy to show you around San Francisco if you wish. We're new to AirBnB so if you're a frequent traveler please feel free to share some helpful hints.
We take the B&B part of Airb&b seriously and you'll always find your room very clean and stocked with fresh linens and towels. The bathroom and kitchen are at your disposal and you'll find fresh coffee, fruit and muffins awaiting you in the morning. You're welcome to help yourself to anything in the fridge. San Francisco has so many sights to visit that you'll want to fuel up before you head out in the morning. Be sure to bring a sweater as it can be chilly here any time of the year!
