About this listing
A little house in the middle of vineyards. The perfect spot to be on the almost always sunny side of the island but still in a calm surrounding. Close to mountains and beach, what makes it ideal for everyone.
A perfect size house for two to four persons. The house is very colourfull, there is a lot of daylight and the original decorations make it a very unique spot. Here you are very close to everything but you feel the calmness around you.
On the first floor you have two bedrooms. One with a large size double bed and the other room has two single beds. Both have spectacular seaview. Each room has efficient and large storage. Downstairs is the livingspace with an open kitchen. Since we stay ourselves from time to time in the house, and I like cooking, the kitchen is very well equipped. You will find a lot of herbs to season your favorite dishes.
The sunny bathroom has a large shower and solar hotwater.
Outside is a spacefull terrace with nice view and nice shady hangouts.
Ten minutes by car you can reach the white sand beach of Calheta, where you can choose from the restaurants in the marina and you also find a big supermarket. A short trip takes you to Jardim do Mar,a charming village which also is one of the best surfspots of the world. The fishermen's village of Paul do Mar, the high plateau Paul da Serra, the famous levada walk of Rabaçal, the levada do Norte, Fanal, all very reachable by car. In Calheta you can visit the old rum factory, go for a whale and dolphintrip or take a paragliding tandemflight.
In Madeira you can travel by bus, but bus hours are not really regular so I would suggest to hire a car so you can choose easier where and when to go. If you compare prices, be shure to take a look at the insurance that is included in the price ! If you are interested, our friend rents out his Seat Ibiza, 1.9 diesel for 250 euros per week, total insurance included. This is a very good deal since most companies ask very high extra insurance costs...
We hope you will enjoy our place as much as we do and take care of it with respect.
