  • My family had a wonderful time relaxing at this great home. It had everything we needed for hanging with the fam. The decks have a great space for sitting and taking in the view. The hot tub was great and even though it was only 40 outside my daughters and myself decided to take a dip in the lake. We had a blast even though the weather in March isn't always the greatest. Can't The owner lives next store and is a fantastic host. We will definitely be back. Can't wait to see the place in the summertime.

  • What a blessing this cottage turned out to be! We were originally going to stay in a hotel but this was such an improvement!!! For starters, it was immaculate and very well equipped with everything you could ever need. Don was a very gracious and accommodating host. The lake was so peaceful and we enjoyed the kayaks, yes, in February, because the weather turned out just beautiful! We hope to come back again sometime soon. Thanks for everything!

  • Wow. I cannot even begin to tell you how incredibly wonderful this place is. Yes, it is exactly as clean and well, decorated as the pictures show, but is s(phone number hidden)much better in person! The natural beauty of your surroundings is awe inspiring. You enter the house walking under gorgeous redwood trees on a well-lit walkway. High quality decking, and landscaping that feels like nature just had a little clear-polish manicure: maintaining the natural beauty, just enough to keep it clean and add pathways. Why go to a lake house in the fall/winter? Because it is STUNNING and so unbelievably relaxing. We arrived at night in the dark, so we thought we'd have to wait until morning to enjoy the lake... Not. At. All. The dark, restless lake was encircled by a ring of twinkling of lights from the houses that surround it. You have COMPLETE privacy from the outside world without compromising your views from any room in the house. Falling asleep to the lull of the waves crashing, I thought it couldn't get any better. I was wrong. We woke up to FOG over most the lake and completely still water. I have to pause when I think about how deeply I loved this morning. We made coffee and fresh croissants and just sat there watching the lake reveal itself. The still, calmness brought us to a place of relaxation that is rare nowadays. I had nothing on my mind other than the beauty, the feeling of awe, amazement, and gratitude. This happened over and over during our stay. Every time of the day the light changes, rain came and went, clouds with the sun sun peeking through making rays and silver linings, and blue skies, crisp and clear, the sun going down...all breathtaking. I love the layout of the cottage. It has an open feel, but intimate. The design allows for togetherness, but with plenty of space for everyone to find their favorite spot and be alone if wanted. There are more than enough supplies in the kitchen, bathroom, everywhere. One of my favorite things is that every single room has its own thermostat and heater!!! Toasty bathroom, cool bedroom, warm great room... Perfect. I was a little leery about it's location because I was afraid it may be too remote. Again, I was pleasantly surprised! It was central to everywhere we wanted to go --20-30 minutes to Seattle, Snoqualamie Falls, Bellevue, the airport... And Redmond (the city of Microsoft) is about 5-10 minutes away with EVERYTHING you'll ever, ever need. I left the best for last. Don, the actual owner, greeted us and gave us the tour. Tears come to my eyes when I think of how thoughtful, caring, warm, giving and welcoming this man is. He is also full of adventurous stories if there is time. I will never forget the moment when we opened the door to the cottage and Don says, "You can take your shoes off, or leave them on. This is...

  • We stayed 7 days in this beautiful place. This is a perfect get away to relax and day dream, regardless if you come in the fall, winter, spring or summer.

The cottage is cozy, spacious, well design to allow lake views from every corner, the kitchen it was more equip than my own with everything you can think of and more, and in general I can't think of anything we needed or wanted and it was not there.

We were welcomed by Don, the owner and neighbor, he was very friendly, his passion for life, people, and adventure is infectious, definitely an interesting fellow full of wonder and kind.

We hope to revisit this place again, and to keep in touch with this wonderful people.

Thank you Don, Gustavo and Sergio!

  • Don was an amazing host and great person. Check in/out was smooth and he made sure that we had everything we needed. I would highly recommend staying here. It looked just as anticipated.
True story - ducks came up to me on the dock and actually let me pet them.

  • There are not enough superlatives to describe our fabulous, beautiful, fun, comfortable, enchanting, lakefront experience at the Cottage on Sammamish.
Smile, laugh, rest, swim, bask in the sunlight and beauty of the location.
An added plus is the next door neighbor - an adventurer and an overall really nice guy with exciting stories.
Book if you are looking for a magical experience - but please don't book for the days I want to return. :)

  • It is really a homelike place. The rooms are comfortable. The restroom is very clean. The kitchen has full set of dinnerware. The most impressive is the beautiful views from the morning to the evening. Really worthy!

  • Though the weather was horrid the weekend we stayed, the accommodations more than made up for it. It was very nice and cozy. The TV/Music setup was confusing, but the wireless internet was great. The kitchen was well stocked and was able to cook most of our meals.

Definitely a great place to stay and we'll be back!

About
I love traveling and meeting people from different parts of the world. With that in mind I became a pilot, and even know I'm from Brazil, I got to know more of US than most Americans. Sharing the same passions I became friend to Don Johnson, a over 60 years old young (in heart) guy during an avalanche when I was working at a ski resort, near Seattle during my academic summer break in Brazil. Don Johnson helped me to achieve one of my biggest dreams (to become a pilot). He and his wife hosted me at their place on Lake Sammamish during my fight training and now I have unforgettable memories for the rest of my life. He owns this beautiful piece of property and now I help him with all on line inquiries and reservation, as he's not a computer guy. He lives at the house next door, and I'm sure he will be happy to help in any need when he's not traveling himself. Another person you might get to know during you visit is our friend Sarjo, a beautiful lady from Gambia, who will also be there at the house next door if you need anything.
