The newly renovated neoclassical house dates from the 1870s and is a listed building - as such it has retained all the original characteristics like the tiled roof, thick stone walls, wrought iron door, private courtyard, etc...
Tina and Elissavet were absolutely wonderful hosts. They were very responsive and helpful - answering every question we had before we arrived! The apartment is very cute and cozy and in a great location. We were able to walk to all the major sites and surrounding areas.
Appartment met all the expectations. The location is great for exploring Athens. Apartment was nice and comfortable, at least to our simple tastes. Kitchen had all the necessities. Elissavet went above and beyond to make us comfortable, her and Tina's recomendations for local attractions and restaurants were great.
Thanks again, Tina and Elissavet!
Overall this was an amazing experience! The apartment is perfectly located near everything, yet in a lovely, quiet neighborhood. The best part was the organization of all the information, including maps to every recommended restaurant and lists of things to see throughout the city. Thanks for a great stay in Athens!!
Host Elissavet was very helpful. The apartment was lovely. The bed was firm enough for bad backs. The ktchen, which went unused by us, was very well provisioned for meal-making.The location was great, just 10-15 minutes' away from the Monastariki neighborhood, with its lively square and shops and cafes, and pedestrian walking streets radiating in several directions. That area is at the foot of the Acropolis, and the Acropolis Museum is nearby. Lots to do and to see within walking distance of the house.
The hosts run a guided tour business, and we took one with guide Andrea. It was built around a number food and spice shops in the Monastiriki area. We enjoyed his company, as well as his knowledge of Greek culture and cuisine. All together a great time.
