THE LOCATION

The historic district of Mets lies to the east of the Acropolis, opposite the Zappeion Gardens, just south of the Panathenaic Stadium where the first modern Olympics were held in 1896. Unique thanks to its many delightful old Athenian houses dating from the 19th century, Mets is renowned for its quiet pedestrian streets and the many gardens and parks surrounding it. Right in the heart of Athens, this quiet and extremely safe residential district is home to many Greek artists, actors and writers.

Mets is a taste of old Athens, where streets are shaded by flowering trees, lined with neoclassical houses with tiled roofs and charming courtyards, and filled with the scent of jasmine and bougainvillea. It's one of the most beautiful neighborhoods to explore in the city, with excellent dining and nightlife options, from trendy bars with stunning views to the Acropolis to one of Europe’s finest jazz clubs.

  • This is an amazing apartment for your stay in Athens! My husband, our young son, and I had a wonderful stay in Athens in Tina's apartment. It is clean and well-stocked with everything you could need including plenty of space. The location is also wonderful -- you can see the Acropolis from the street and it is just a short walk to visit the Acropolis or eat dinner in Plaka, but the apartment itself is set back from the street and is very quiet and private. The courtyard is lovely to have your coffee or even your dinner, and the apartment is very comfortable and relaxing.

Tina is also a wonderful host. She took care of everything for us, including arranging rides to and from the airport and recommending things to see and do during our stay. Everything went smoothly and she is very helpful and responsive to whatever you might need.

We also went on her Delicious_Athens walking tour of the city, which was amazing! You should absolutely do this tour if you can. Tina took us all over Athens, telling us history and stories of every neighborhood, and of course stopping often to sample some of the amazing foods that are unique to Greece and to Athens. It was a delicious and fantastic day.

I highly recommend this apartment to anyone planning to come to Athens. It has everything you could want -- location, comfort, and hospitality. We had a great trip and a wonderful stay in Tina's Athens apartment!

  • The apartment was in a charming and quiet neighborhood within easy walking distance of the Acropolis. Tina was very helpful in providing maps and instructions before arrival. Her friend who gave us the keys was also very friendly. The apartment was cute and clean. I think the apartment would be most comfortable for a party of 2 since our friend on the sofa bed got a little bit cold without blankets, but I would definitely recommend staying with Tina!

  • We stayed here during two days in Athens before heading to Meteora and Santorini. We absolutely LOVED the location and Tina was incredible. She was very organized and had the most helpful book of everything we needed for when we arrived. The home is right by the Olympic Stadium and the National Garden. We're from NY, so are used to walking everywhere, if you're up for it, you can walk about 15-20 minutes and be right at the Acropolis. She gave lots of good local tips which we loved. We visited some local taverns and restaurants that we never would have found without her suggestions and they ended up being our favorite place.
The home itself was very spacious and comfortable and just what we needed when we arrived. We will be back!

  • Tina's apartment is perfectly located, close to everything but calm and cozy, with a beautiful courtyard and everything that you might possibly need (there's even a small collection of dvds and books should you decide to stay in for an evening). Better still, Tina runs a little tour company in Athens, we took one of the tours (Food Tour) she offers, which was very fascinating. Tina organized everything perfectly for us, gave us plenty of information beforehand (and also at the apartment, there is a folder with useful insider information about nearby restaurants and bars, and other things), and everything worked out precisely as agreed. Great place, great host, I can absolutely recommend this!

  • Our stay here was fabulous. Tina has really thought everything through; she provided us with instructions on transportation, an assortment of maps, and other extremely useful tips for our stay even before our arrival. She has a whole binder of restaurant, entertainment, and tourist attraction recommendations in the apartment, and even set up a lovely food tour for us with one of her guides! We unfortunately did not get to meet Tina during our stay, but she was such a wonderful host even so! She is very reliable with communication and will answer any questions you may have about Athens. Our trip really would not have gone as smoothly without all of her helpful instructions. The apartment itself is perfect, very clean and homey. There is a bedroom, a bathroom, a living room with a TV, and a large, adorable kitchen. The location is perfect for anyone wanting to get to the sites, walking distance to the Acropolis and Temple of Zeus. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

  • Tina's home is a beautiful cosy place in the center of Athens with a walking distance to the main historical parts of the city. It is well-equipped and very good for 2 or 3 persons. She managed a private transport for us from the airport. Tina is a nice and flexible person with a warm hospitality, thank you Tina.

  • We had a very good experience when taking Tina's house. The house is in the centre of Athens. Easy access to tourist attractions and walks around the historic areas. Metro and other public transport is within a short walking distance.
Tina was able to offer us her house on a very short notice (less than 12 hours.) She responded to emails very quickly and found her very accommodating.
The house is very comfortable, there is the possibility to cook. There is wifi in the house.

    Strongly recommend the place.

  • Tina is a wonderful host and the apartment was ideal for us as a couple with two children, we took the master bedroom and the children slept on sofa beds. The outdoor courtyard space was a lovely bonus and the apartment is ideally situated in easy walking distance (15 mins) of central Athens with its fabulous sights and wonderful restaurants. Tina's comprehensive guide helped with restaurant recommendations, all of those we tried proved excellent. We also recommend Tina's food tour, we re-visited several of the artisan producers we visited with her during our week long stay to make further purchases. The arranged airport transfer was great- easy and hassle free plus, for four of us, cheaper than the alternatives. The same trusted driver also arranged for a trip to Delphi and Sounio to see the Temple of Poseiden both of which were truly wonderful experiences. All in all, a wonderful week with a wonderful host- thoroughly recommended.

  • We had a great stay! When you meet people like Tina and Vassilis you experience more than just the place you visit!
The appartment is very good located and quiet. You can enjoy every moment there. All was perfect!
I can highly recommend visiting this place!
    Tina, thanks for everything!

  • We had a great stay in Athens and in Tina's apartment. From the very beginning of our contact, she was very helpful and charming. The pick up service from and to the Airport was perfectly organized by Tina's connection. Her mother in law who greet us was very kind too and gave us some important recommendations.
The house is clean, romantic and has a good heating system. So, no worries about winter travels. It is greatly located, within walking distance of all attractions.
Thank you very, very much Tina.
    Highly recommended!

Hi there! I am a native Athenian who has travelled extensively around the world. I love discovering new places and new cultures and my own city never ceases to surprise me... Three more things i love: movies, animals and authentic, delicious food! It will be a pleasure to help you discover a different Athens and get a true understanding of what this city is really about, just as I have done with numerous friends and collegues from abroad over the years.
